Thanks so much. My health visitor signed me up for baby rhyme and said I'd get a letter in the post when I could go. Does that sound right or can I just turn up? TBH, I wasn't gonna go as it is a bit daunting going to these things for the 1st time. This is going to sound silly but what do you do at these mum + baby groups?
You really should try swimming. Tomos loved it. He was a bit chilly (shaky lip) but was still smiling. Obviously at 12 weeks he couldn't do a lot but was still kicking his legs and trying to swin with his arms sometimes. It was great fun even though it was £8 for 25 mins. But he will probably be able to last longer the more we go.
a letter about when you can go? To the one at the library? I've never heard of that!
At the library, the mums and dads sit in a circle with the babies in front of them or on their laps. Then the librarian gets everyone to introduce their baby. Then she leads about 10 songs, very gustily, and so it doesn't really matter if you don't join in at first. Then the mums either sit around and chat and feed babies for a bit, or borrow library books or disappear to other baby events...
Sorry you feel daunted.I am really up for meeting you before and walking in together if you'd like
no pressure though, I'm not a scary stalker lady-promise!
Where did you take Tomos swimming?

Hi Mel,
He was up to 9oz 3-4 times a day, but has recently only wanted 3-4 oz, and begun to wake up every 3 hours again in the night. It's like a complete return to newborn land! Food wise he has tried: Baby rice, baby banana porridge, real banana, plum and apple puree, prunes, prune yoghurt, a little bread (oops earlier than 6 months, don't tell 'them'!) scrambled egg (ditto) melon, fine green beans, a lump of roast potato. Quite a lot of variety, but he'll only take about 2 teaspoons before he's had enough. This isn't nearly enough to substitute for the milk he's dropped! We try him with solids twice a day, lunch and tea time, but I did try scrambled egg yolk this morning, but think I got the texture wrong.
Does that help with seeing where I'm going wrong?! I'm really grateful for any thoughts
Hi Weezl
Kai has also dropped the amount of food/milk he taking at the moment. He now has 7/8oz in the morning and 6oz lunch time and dinner time but the last couple of nights has only had 4-5oz before bed. He also won't eat a full jar of food (well that eq. of my own food) He has dropped to about half a jar sized portion!
It is probably just a phase and as long as it doesn't go on too long, and he doesn't seem ill at all, I would be inclined to just bear with it a few more days. Obviously if any of teh above occur then go docs/ask HV asap:)
You don't say how long after his milk you are giving him food....I know try and leave a bit of a gap maybe 20-30mins, I can't always manage it, if we are busy or going out.
Or I know someone who feeds there baby completely seperately meal and milk.....so the baby is feeding every two hours effectively but it is working for them!
Oh and how about cheesey mash for a calorific meal?
Mel xUnless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

elle they have put him on another medication (smells like mouthwash?) its meant to heal the stomach? they have to put him on this for 2 weeks and then he will go back and again if no improvement then he will get the milk. the dietician was not going to do anything though until my sister refused to move and told them she was not leaving until they actually done something. she called a doctor who looked at all the notes and was very unhappy, he ordered blood tests and this medicine. she is back next wed i think? so hopefully something will get done. What's for you won't go past you0

i get like that the last 2 weeks when it seems to wear off, i have started to get it earlier but this time its still the same? but my moods are terrible at the moment. am rock bottom just now and struggling TBH, trying to hold it together but its not working. my mum just text to ask if she could send up abis birthday present so im off again?
im lucky i cut off my mother nearly 2 years ago and never looked back once ... so hugs i know how you feel as ive been there .... its been along time since i was on depo but i knew it was the best option in the long run (zoe was convieced on the pill so i dont trust it) i got something on my mind and its really playing on me but if i say something it could cause problem (well more like arguements) and in a sense its not my business in in the long run it sort of is ...... ok that makes no sense but in my head it does if you ever need to rant and rave about your mum me and tara are here as we've been through it all xStill searching .....:)

Good for her for putting her foot down!
Ranitadine (Zantac as you would know it from Boots) smells minty - it's an antacid so the reflux doesn't burn. That's the only one I know.. The rest just smell of "medicine"0 -

I'm visiting MIL in Kent at the moment so we took him down here but we will be doing it again when we get back to Cardiff. Don't know where yet though.
I'll definately have a think about going to a baby group or something. I'll let you know. I do go a bit crazy with just baby gurgles for conversation.
Thanks
