    Chopsticks - 2oz is fabulous.

Tara - good on you for putting your foot down. I've had to that this weekend but for different reasons.

MFD - I'm definitely not jealous (except for the abroad bit) as I'm off myself in 12 days.

I'm leading the pre-school Sunday School at Church next Sunday - I've got to prepare it and everything!! I've been told which session in the book were doing, but the rest is up to me!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will have an experienced leader there but she'll just be my assistant.

My hand mixer died yesterday as well the motor burned out whilst I was making some buttercream for my jam sponge, mum then phoned up requesting a jam sponge as she has some friends coming to visit next weekend. I've reserved this at Argos - more powerful than the old one, which was very old as it was my SIL's grandad's.

    hi all,

woo hoo MFD on your holiday. so pleased for you. a tip about opening the cartons of formula milk without getting milk everywhere ... i unstick the part of the carton from the side, then tip the carton back (so the bit you just unstick is pointing upwards), then use your teeth (well i do as i dont carry scissors :-)) and tear the part of the carton you unstuck open.

    so hoping that made sense.

please dont worry about the fairy visit re bibs with holiday pending.

weezl ... i seem to be having the same problems re sleeping/weaning/milk. my LO woke every 2 hours the other night (sometimes on the hour). madnes!!!! she too isn't having as much milk, although it has been a fight to get her to have what she 'should' be having milk wise for a good few months. my HV said to keep trying the mlik of course but she just may be one that doesn't like milk. therefore i am trying to get milk into her other ways, eg using her milk in porridge/baby rice/and having yoghurt.

my LO was dozing off in my arms a while ago, only to wake herself bringing up some wind, then decided to laugh in her semi dozing state and then natter away in my ear. have put her in her crib but she shows no signs of sleeping

We went to Exeter this afternoon as I stupidly forgot they needed new plimsoles, but sorted it. They were so good I wanted to end the afternoon with a treat but not spend money so I took them up round the back of the town to the gardens I used to go in as a kid which is also part of the old castle. They spent the 1st 5mins saying it was a bit boring then half an hour later asking if we could go there every time we go to Exeter! :rotfl:

What's been happening with you MDW?
Too many children, too little time!!!

Fab, thank you. I don't suppose you remember whether they're with the formula or whether they're with the breast pads, etc do you? They're in different pon;laces in our Tesco

We're only going away in this country and are going SC, so will have a kettle provided. Thank you for thinking of me though :)
If I remember rightly they're with the bottles, cups dummies etc. :)

Cars - the 1st car I had was a VW Polo group 1 when I was 17. Car cost me £300 and the insurance cost me £900 for 3rd party fire & theft :eek: But N Ireland insurance is much more expensive than England as we have a different legal system in the event of a claim. I am in a new Polo now and fully comp its £380.

Feelie - that photo is FAB :T

MFD - you lucky lucky girl :p

Hi tara, I miss you, post more please :D

Don't take not leaking as a sign that you aren't making enough, it just means your supply is a little more settled. Have you tried expressing in the morning? Or while Caitlin feeds from the other side? Did you pop her on the breast before you gave her the bottle of EBM? Some peolpe find it helps to express a little bit after each feed too... Don't be disheartened, you're doing brilliantly :)
I have to wait a good 5 hours or so to get a lot of EBM

Do you keep pumping to see if your milk will come in again?

BTW - I think 2 oz in 20 mins is good at Caitlins age

I'm probably just expecting too much :o. I've only managed to get 0.5oz out of my "bad" side though. I'd just love to be someone who is able to have a stock of milk in my freezer.

Krystal - I'm a bit worried about expressing in the morning as I think there might not be enough to sustain her throughout the day. I know it's a supply and demand thing, so I need to feed/express in order to supply, but I'm worried that she'll demand and I won't have enough supply if I've just expressed, and I do like to express one bottle a day so DH can use it the next day to do her night-time feed.

As it happens, I've only managed to get 2.5oz out in 50mins tonight, so it will be a good test to express tomorrow morning so try and get some more out for tomorrow night's feed.

I can't express whilst I feed her. I've tried before and she is such a restless eater (and sleeper ) that she kicks and punches the expresser making it impossible to do. Her limbs flail all over the place!

MFD - I keep the expresser going for a good while after the milk has finished coming out. I also stop and start it a couple of times, as I find resuming the expressing sometimes encourages a bit more to come out. I was hoping that continuing to pump even when nothing comes out will help increase my milk supply.

Caitlin had her first jabs last Wed and since then has not been sleeping well at all. We have been up and down with her at least 10 times every night with her since. The jabs seem to have given her constipation (I wasn't expecting this but one of my friends said her baby had the same thing) and she only seems bothered by it at night. She doesn't cry much with it, but when it wakes her up and she's making groaning noises, I don't like to go to sleep as she's obviously not comfortable. Plus, I don't think we'd sleep hearing her over the monitor anyway! It's as though she falls asleep but isn't in a deep enough sleep before she gets a pain/cramp and it wakes her up and she wants her dummy.

She's only pooing once every two days (and they are massive explosions when they do happen!) in the morning, which is so unlike her. She used to be about 6 a day!

I thought the effects of the jabs would have worn off by now (she had them last Wed).

Anyway, this is a long rambling way of saying I'm off to bed! Caitlin is still being restless so I think we're in for another unsettled night and DH gets up at 6:30pm.

    Night all
