I've still got district nurses coming in daily for my section wound ( bad infection ) and back on antibiotics as now have infection of veins in my leg.

I feel for you, my wound was badly infected for a few weeks afterwards, plus I got an infection inside when the did the op. I was on anti-biotics for a month but they never came out to tend to my wound booooo. I had to just keep it cleaned up myself (well OH did!) and they checked it whenever I saw someone. Took them nearly 2 weeks to realise it was infected though, even though I kept asking if it was right that it was stinging and weeping lol.

we are looking to buy a bouncer chairs what ones do people have and/or have you any that you would recommend? we are looking to spend up to bout £40

Jillie, we have this one: Bouncer
Aaron has loved it since birth, he looked tiny in it but is filling it out more now, the frog head cushion stopped his head lolling about when he was younger. It's a good angle so I don't feel like he will topple out (I did with some) and it's comfy enough for him to fall asleep in. The toy bar is removable so we left it off for the first few weeks and now he loves batting at the dangly things, and it has vibrate and musical switches which cut out after a while so you don't have to remember to switch the vibrate off. It is bouncy enough that with his own movements it bounces a little, plus it's able to be bounced 'by foot' when I am on the sofa and all he wants is bouncing.

I thought she had put weight on because she has gotten longer (sleepsuits are a little tight even taking into account, newborn curl up).

I've found they seem to go long and skinny without putting weight on, then go chubby as they put weight on, then grow and go long and skinny again and so on! Might just be a growth spurt and she's going to catch up on the weight soon.

Charlotte needed to go into size 5 nappies a couple of months back, but she's grown and gone skinny and I think she needs to move back down to size 4+ now

Hope you get some sort of routine sorted out with feeding, but I would just try and let her go at her own pace as much as you can. I know it's hard when you have other children and places to be etc., though.
:rotfl: Beccles, you are so MEAN!

    :o

They both have messy handwriting and James really struggles with written English. I normally give them written work to do as a punishment as it sinks in better when they have to write about how they should behave and it's handwriting and written English practice. Win win :D

    hi guys

just a quick question... we are looking to buy a bouncer chairs what ones do people have and/or have you any that you would recommend? we are looking to spend up to bout £40

We had a Mothercare own brand one, like this.

    http://www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-Rosebud-bouncing-cradle/dp/B001CC7PX0/sr=1-4/qid=1251740153/ref=sr_1_4/275-0763144-7787305?_encoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=44388031&mcb=core

The bar with toys on was useful. Charlotte used to like to hit them when she got a bit older!
Here I go again on my own....

I also have the plain brightstarts bouncer, still in box, from asda. I think I am going to build that one up, sell the barnaby bear one and get her a nice play arch that she can use in the chair or on the floor.

But I will wait cos I'm in a mood and the chair seems to be the focus of my frustration right now. lol

    Jillie,
I have this one and it's rubbish, glad I didn't pay full price. The electric bouncer is rubbish as is the music, it sits far too high so useless for a small baby and it doesn't clip together, the poles just push in so it feels flimsy.

I've got that one :( I read loads of good reviews about it before I bought it. Was half price though so guess it's not the end of the world if I don't like it (or baby doesn't, who's opinion I guess is actually the more important of us). Think Glam has it too. I really like the animal sounds, thought they were really sweet.

Anyway, sorry to interrupt, I'll go back to lurking and waiting till I can join you all properly

And looking at that, Toby is only 3oz's under the weight limit so I need to find somewhere else for himto sit. It has been a fantsatic buy, I just give him toys to hold, o string something across the room.

    WELCOME to fairydawn!!!

Well I would gloat that Ed slept from 11pm until 8am but I didn't enjoy any extra sleep! I couldn't sleep until about 1am and then was up every few mins from 5am with boobs that felt ready to explode, it was soo painful, my actual chest/ribs still hurt - they feel bruised like I've been squashed by something.
I kept poking Ed to wake up but he was having non of it, then one boob gave in and soaked through pad, bra, PJs and the towel I sleep on and even after that was still rock hard:rolleyes: I tried to hand express a bit of each but I couldn't get my let down to come so only got a few drops :( Once Ed was finally up and fed he didn't want much so I couldn't get him to relieve both sides and then he threw up all down my back/the sofa and it soaked me right through including my knickers!! so we've had shower and bath, another feed and now he's napping on my lap! and all that before we've usually even got out of bed!
I found that talking about Alice and/or looking at photos of her helped. We put a load of photos on a CD which I could just set playing on theDVD player.
tine, I took caitlyn swimming last week in just a swim nappy, she was fine... Expect people to assume she's a boy...
We used to have that problem too. Made me regret having bought a yellow one so that I'd be able to use it with a boy. People used to think she was a boy in neutral babygrows too. Having said that, we have a friend who mistook Alice for a boy nearly a year ago. She was wearing all pink except for shoes which were pink and purple and a neutral (multi coloured stripy) wooly hat.

I had a bouncer similar to yours FG, though I think mine was from argos? I found it really useful, she loved to be bounced to sleep in it, and also was good when my back was hurting to feed her in it.

We also had one of those rocker/vibrating expensive bouncers, and she hated it, apart from the toy bar over it, it was useless for us. Though every baby is different :D

God I've eaten like a fat hoohah today, had haggis balls and cranberry sauce for starter, big massive haddock and chips for main, I gave my pudding to Keira :p, and then I just got home and munched a bowl of my slow cooker curry with rice. Bloated to the gills. Salad for the next 2weeks now!

The curry was slightly watery because I did add water, as I only had pataks curry paste, unbeknown to me, OH got home and added curry powder as he hates anything that tastes BLAND, the flavour must assault his tongue, so the curry is REALLY hot, though I liked it, way too hot for Keira, she wanted weetabix and blueberries anyways !
