    yup :D

and you dont do anything special eh?

Special, nope.. that's just like Lu T said - to stop the frustration cries ;)

One of the nurses used to tease me that Rhys was never off my chest as I've always held him upright with his head resting on my shoulder (as he wouldn't tolerate usual breastfeeding position), but now they say it's obviously paid off as he's got really good head control :D So :p to that nurse! ;)
  • Oh, back to peanut butter, you can get cashew nut butter and pumpkin seed butter in Holland and Barret (and probably other health food type places too!) which do the same job of being something not sweet, but high in callories to spread on bread/crackers :) Izzy loves her pumpkin seed butter, but it is very sticky stuff. Sometimes it is easier to pop her in the bath afterwards!

Keira is zooming through her dora game on the vtech console. I wonder if you can get cheap games for it, they are usually about £15!

Mind you, she couldn't get Dora to jump on a turtle and heard her shouting "Stupid game, I hate you!" Oh dear.

When do Bf feds get les over the day? She eats now for around 3 hours a day ratheer than 5 but the feeds are still around the 11-14 mark. I'd hoped as she needed less time on me the amount of feesd would go down but they haven;t!

Benjamin still feeds loads during the day!! He always has done. I reckon he must feed 10 or so times, even now he is eating

I have to say I have never counted though! I just feed him whenever he seems to want something :rotfl:

Oh, another question - how often do you baath a five-week-old baby? We've been bad and not done Lilia very often at all, as I thought it was bad for them but my mum told me we should be doing it every day now.

Follow your instinct and don't listen to anybody else!! Some people on here bathe their babies every day without fail, others have been known to go 3 weeks  Whatever works for you is what is best for baby.

I think this thread has taught me how extremely varied baby's long night-time sleeps are... I think once they are 15?? lb (someone will correct me) it's "physically safe" for them to sleep through the night, but that doesn't mean they will.

Elijah's bedtime was more like 11pm ish for the first couple of months! It suited him, the little monster. We didn't start looking at a 7.30ish bedtime for maybe 4-5 months?

I think it is 14lbs when they are deemed to have enough body fat to sustain them through the night :D

is there a reason babies cant eat melons? i've never seen it mentioned as something they can or cant eat? i think he would enjoy doing some hard gumming on a nice cold slice
Fergie had melon yesterday and really liked it, it was straight out of the fridge and so became a gum soother and lunch all in one:)

Weezl, you are once again an unrecognised buddha of the family household :o your kind thoughts and all the suggestions are amazing. I think you have hit on something:

    Hmmmmn, buddha eh....

Awww bruno you sure know how to compliment a lady!
One thing, formula feeding from birth ladies, would you be offended at the offer of breastmilk?

for me personally it would have been the best gift I ever could've had for fergie. A friend threw hers out of the freezer because it was due to be out of date and she had such a plentiful supply. She sent me a lighthearted text about it having just binned litres of it, and I cried for about an hour!

But everyone is very different. Is the baby premature? Sorry I can't find the bit where you first mention your friend....

MFD, you're allowed to say 'smelly ole weezl goes 3 weeks without washing her baby' I don't mind being outed :p. Hugs to you this mornin lady xxx

caz they can give you an expectorant (like a cough mixture that loosens the stuff on the chest), but it might be quicker to get some at the pharmacy and ask the pharmacist... :)
