this is what my hubby and i are doing as well. i can't see why people think you are odd for this????

i am not a religious person either, but love being in a church. i am extremely envious though of people that have such faith. it must be amazing to be able to take comfort in something.

We're doing exactly the same. Took some breaking to MIL who is quite religious but she understood why as DH is very atheist. Imogen has been to church with her a few times though. We're happy with this as it will allow her access to the info she needs to make her own mind up.

Imogen is currently asleep in her new Fifi nightie (sp?) which she LOVES! PJs just fall down as she is so narrow-hipped. I've tried taking in the elastic but eventually it just stretches and they do it again. We call her Tombliboo Gen! She proudly annouced to my friend that she had a new Fifi nightiw, "And it doesn't fall down!" today - just as she walked through the door. :rotfl::rotfl: She has no vest but a pair of pants and a summer-weight duvet. I have closed her window though as it seemed a little cool earlier. Normally it's just on the latch.

Bay - nice to see you. Hope all goes well with Molly. Imogen slept til 9.20am yesterday  I woke at 9am and decided I'd get a quick shower and then check whether she was ok (read: still alive). As I got out of the shower she was just on her way into the bedroom :T Even Alex slept til then after feeding at 6.30am. Good job, as the pair of them just will not nap together during the day. It's happened once in nearly 7 weeks.

She must be doing a lot of growing scruffy!

    Mookie, that is too funny!!!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

  • Nite nite everyone. DH just poured me a glass of wine and we're going to watch a film :D.

:rotfl: She doesn't trust you does she? ;)

I don't think so. I also get reminded to take care because the oven and kettle are hot, or to mind the step when I go into the garden and all sorts :rotfl:

Don't know where the berry thing came from. Think it's a combination of me telling her not to touch the berries in the woods and she got told off for poking pencils up her nose.

Thanks everyone - I know I shouldn't let her get to me, but it's not easy when she uses every opportunity to imply I'm doing it wrong.

You need to learn the technique where you smile and nod and look like you're taking everything on board, but really you're just letting it go in one ear and out the other as you've got absolutely no intention of following the advice ;)
SB im not a religious person which is why neither of my kids are christen ... when they're older to know about religion id like them to make the decision themselves ... people think im odd for this  x

I am christian, but didn't want the children baptised into any religion in case they don't want to follow it when they're older. Joshua was keen to get christened into the Catholic church when he was in Catholic primary school but his main reason for doing it was so he was further up the list for a place in Catholic secondary school. I said that wasn't a valid reason, and if he was meant to get into the school he would get in, and he did!
Here I go again on my own....

I'd rather my boys turned out very religious than neds though - lesser of two 'evils' :p

    Thats what I figure. :rotfl:

Sugar, I tend to stick to 'do you have any idea the faff involved in formula now? I'd rather spend my time being a good mummy than constantly boiling fresh water, making sure it is this temperature and sterilising bottles'. My mum doesn't really get it but she would never ever say anything to me about my parenting, mainly because she knows she was a very bad one!

Don't you just wish they had a little gage on their arm that you could check after a feed, like a fuel gage, empty, sleep for 2 hours and full. Though I figure that if she is coming off and milk is running out her mouth and down her chin I'm doing ok. :D

Sugar - missed most of the discussion but there are a few on here who say, "If it's not a problem for you, it's not a problem," and that's what I've adopted. It's hard to be confident as a first-time parent, esp when people are sticking their two-penneth in. Do what the other girls say and smile, nod and in your head say, "Get f****d"!
