MFD out of interest what temp is B'd room when you have him in vest, suit n bag?

I've never put Ed in a vest under his clothes yet - just haven't felt the need, not sure why tho. He sleeps in a sleepsuit and a sleeping bag that is just a bit of cotton jersey no stuffing
of any kind - 1 tog I think  I'm sure my mum would be mortified at how little he wears to bed but she doesn't know :p

  • I honestly don't seem to have the time to read the thread like I used to and if someone asks a question about, say, bf, I obviously can't answer and I [STRIKE]jump a few pages[/STRIKE] speed read if I'm lagging behind ;):o.

Sorry if I have missed or ignored anyone. It really isn't intentional and nine times out of ten someone will have already posted a fab reply before I have caught up.

Some from the preg thread will remember it took a very l-o-n-g time for me to make the leap of faith here for good (even though I already knew the ladies from having Poppy!).

To all newbies and lurkers, the Mums & Dads here are wonderful and have helped me out on too many occasions to mention and and I'm sure they will do you too :D.

AngelFairy I was thinking about you earlier. I was struck by the homesickness you've been feeling. Sorry to hear that :( I wondered if you had any sense of what it is about the type of friendships that you had back home (not sure where that was, sorry :o) that you're finding it hard to find here. IYSWIM?

I was remembering a friend who tried living in Canada for 3 years. At first she felt super-welcomed, but after a while she felt lonely. She's quite a thoughtful person, and managed to figure out that in the UK female friendships have to her always become a 'deep' or 'proper' ones after both women have said about things that they struggle with or feel a bit insecure about.

In Canada, she found that those weren't really the sort of things which lead to deeper friendship, so she felt a bit lost.

Possibly a not very useful story, but I thought I'd share it and see :o:D

    hi weezl,

thanks for thinking of me :p, you have been in my thoughts too :D

to be honest, i am not sure it is the friendships either back home or those i have here that have an effect on me being homesick as much as missing family does.

i do have some great friends here, but if i am honest with myself, i still keep a lot to myself (if i am having problems, say with hubby etc) , but i did that and still do with friends from home.

i think where i struggle the most is with family, i feel extremely guilty being over here now that i have a baby. although i did feel guilty before, it is worse now.

although, when i go back home, i feel i dont' belong there in some respects now becuase so many things change every time i go back. i feel most at home when i am at my parents or nan's house.

okay, going to stop there as getting a bit choked.

thanks again for thinking of me weezl... i was very touched.

Thanks everyone - I know I shouldn't let her get to me, but it's not easy when she uses every opportunity to imply I'm doing it wrong. I told her I was having a glass of wine and that turned into her telling me how pleased she was that I'd given up BF and was able to have a glass. I had to explain Pump and Dump and she went into a flutter about how I'm starving the baby.
I wouldn't bother pump n dump unless ur uncomfortably full, it doesn't get rid of the alcohol in ur milk any faster, as long as its in ur blood its in ur milk - MFD/Krystal can explain it better than me

You know that the alcohol doesn't stay in the milk don't you? Basically, if you are safe to drive, you are okay to feed. Although I guess this depends on what kind of person you are - some people worry about any alcohol. One of the first things my MW said to me is 'don't let anybody tell you that you can't have a glass of wine!!'

But also, the alcohol doesn't stay in your milk after it has left the rest of your system. So unless you really need to pump and dump to relieve pressure then it is quite a pointless exercise.

    I hope that makes sense.

Anywhere between 19 and 22 degrees - which is what his room normally is, I don't open his curtains so his room doesn't get the afternoon sun.

Any hotter than that I would remove his vest but he has been in a sleeping bag practially every night over the summer - I have one that is thinner than sleepsuit material that he goes in if it is really hot. If he doesn't wear a sleeping bag he doesn't seem to know that it is bedtime!!

  • How odd for religion to be discussed when Jamie is being Christened on Sunday! DH is more of faith than I and its something we agreed on before even having children (we were even married by a Church of Scotland Minister to avoid potential squabbling!).
