We are exactly the same Sugar; hoarding fancy treats til they're inedible  mostly my fault not OH's. If you do pop back later I am sure you'll notice that the thread tends to get less polite in the evenings ;p

Since I am now half tipsy on 3/4 of a glass of wine (gotta love low post pregnancy alcohol tolerance) I look forward to it.
is everything that is in clothes shops awful these days?? ... i not a girlie girl so im not liking anything of the tops and i need a new one for the 23rd (im going out for the night) x

Plain black vest and a fabulous necklace?

Husband has annoyed me, although he doesn't know because I haven't told him. The monster went into her crib without a fuss and was not sleeping but chilling out there pre-sleep. She pooped and started fussing, so instead of going in and just quick-changing and back down he made a massive fuss of it and her and now she's up again. He keeps talking about how great it will be when she has a routine, not realising that she has her own routine and he just keeps messing it up

  • I haven't found our Boo yet, I looked where I thought it would be and it wasn't, will try to have a more comprehensive search next week when Mil's back at school, she says we gave it to her cousin but I don't remember that.

Don't worry about it hun, honestly, I think the boy will survive without ;):D

    Wot she said.

It moves too quick on here and I don;t feel I know many people and I also feel stupid cos I am so clueless as a mum so I'm embarrassed to post on here even if I do grab a second to come on!

Believe me Skinty, I may seem all self-assured-mummy now but I have asked EVERY stoopid question in the book!! I still do, except now they are about weaning and 'older' stuff :D
I remember when I joined here there was a discussion about bedtimes and routines etc and I felt totally inadequate and crap because we were doing none of the things that the ladies were talking about...but they had babies who were 6m+ and I had a 6 day old!!!!

Hi ladies, I know something on rolling over was discussed recently but I only skimmed through it as was trying to catch up on a zillion pages, but I just wanted to ask about this.
...it's too warm for his 1 tog sleeping bag...

Hey honey - are you somewhere much warmer than me??? Benjamin goes to bed in a vest, sleepsuit and 1.5 tog sleeping bag most nights and I still worry that he gets a little cold (his hands are feezing, although his core is usually okay).

If it were me I would turn him back for now. Once he is really rolling all the time you get to a stage that you can't keep turning them!! Sleeping bags also slow down the ability to roll IYSWIM ;):D

SM - agreed! Fashion is awful ATM! Especially for those of us who did the 80's first time round!!

DH and DS1 are away out till about 10pm (DS1 is off to this christian club that his aunt runs, I'm a bit wary of it because he comes back quoting bible stuff at me and its a bit cultish but he loves it, so what can I do??). Here comes DS2 again...
I'd rather my boys turned out very religious than neds though - lesser of two 'evils' :p

I put Chris's PJs on and he woke enough to let me know he wouldn't be waking up anytime soon so I'm just gonna take a cup of milk up to bed with me incase he wakes up starving

Anyway... just been to check on him and found he's laying on his front, head turned to the side. Don't know how he did this, Health Visitor yesterday even said it will be 2 months-ish before he rolls back to front. He wasn't crying so didn't flip over in a rage. He seemed very comfy however I rolled him back over.

Some things I have read say if a baby will sleep on his front then so be it, but other things express the danger.

Charlotte used to turn onto her tummy when she was a bit older. I was worried and used to flip her back but she'd turn back over. In the end I used to just leave her and she was fine.

In the old days, babies had to be put to sleep on their tummy as they said would choke on their own vomit if they slept on their backs. I wouldn't sleep on my tummy and my Mam got hassle and the risks pointed out for putting me on my back!

And yes, she pooed on the carpet (and Nanna!) in spectacular fashion :p

It's a long pooey journey you're on now! Charlotte came back from Granny's with spare shorts on the other day after having an exploding tikka masala induced poo :o:rotfl:

Put her to bed tonight and she reminded me not to stick berries up my nose because it's dangerous :rotfl:
Here I go again on my own....

I have the exact same thing with Millie and Rainbows, she keeps coming home and talking nonsense and i don't understand what on earth shes talking about or where she got the idea from but it will turn out to be something she's heard in the sermon at church parade, its so bad I've actually started staying for church parade just so i know what she's trying to make sense of.

She keeps going to the loo and taking ages, when I go up there to see whats happened and she'll be sat on the loo, jeans around ankles praying (for nice weather so she can go out on her bike or that she gets to go to the sweet shop)

OH's gran died the other week (its ok she was 98) and when there were black clouds in the sky coming towards us yesterday Millie said 'ooh look Grandma Betty will be getting wet now, it'll mess her hair up!'

You have to be a hard-faced cow to work in construction ;):D

I remember when I first started and some of the guys were all nicey, nicey around me - apologising for saying bl00dy etc. It really p1ssed me off!!

I was ranting to my boss about it one day and he said 'just throw a few !!!!s into conversation and they will soon get the idea that you are no delicate female'
It goes against my professional work ethic (;)) but I did what he said and now they pretty much treat me like one of the lads!!!

    GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

My mother has become obsessed with the idea that the monster is not getting enough nourishment from breast milk. She was here during the midwife's first post-birth visit, 6 days after Molly was born and 2 after we came home from the hospital. Molly was born at 3.27kg and dropped 250g in the first few days. By the time we were at home she was back around her birth weight, but the midwife happened to comment that she'd not gained over her birth weight.

Since then my mother has been asking constantly about [STRIKE]whether[/STRIKE] when I'm going to give up and start supplementing with formula or just switch altogether.

I'm going to start hanging up the phone. I'm already worried about it because I can't see how much she eats and when I express I only get 3oz or so. But the monster is putting on weight and is happy so !!!!!!?!?!?!?
