cheap tat :rotfl:
I will ask for money for their savings but will more than likely be ignored by most  Chris will end up with loads of Choc that will be eaten by those pesky elves  and they'll prob get clothes of a few. My mum usually buys things similar to what I get but they stay at her house, like for Chris's 1st xmas I got him a little scoot/push along car and she got him a thomas the tank one that stayed at hers
Ah ha.. Hmmm, guess we'll see nearer the time what he "needs"
I've just got these for Chris..
How kewl!
OH is groaning because I mentioned Christmas. His family and mine are completely different when it comes to presents - my family all know what they would like and often have lists for a range of ideas for all to pick from, whereas his family never ask if you have any idea and always buy the most [STRIKE]random tat[/STRIKE] heartfelt thoughtful gifts
We do know what we're getting each other (silver rings) which makes a change, and I'm looking now for a new watch - which I've had the money for from my last birthday in Feb but hadn't gotten around the choosing one. Actually only put my watch and two rings back on today for the first time since taking them off before I got wheeled down to theatre!

I never want anything for Xmas. Does that make me weird?
Last year OH got my singstar for the PS3 because I mentioned in a conversation that it looked quite fun, didn't say I wanted it though! Then on Boxing day, he come with a DS for me....I actually got quite mad because a 2nd hand one would of done!
OH's mum bought me £80 hair straighteners cause OH said to get me them - I didn't need them and they are so powerful they burn my fine hair, so I gave them to my sister.
I just don't ever want anything!!
Well actually, they could buy me a house

I just stop buying things for myself from October onwards and write them on my list instead

Present from inlaws last year was a hairdryer.. When they know I use wet-2-straight straighteners (when I can be !!!!!d!) and never ever use a hairdryer due to my hair being so curly/frizzy I'd look like I was carrying a brunette cloud on my head if I ever went near a hairdryer  Me, ungrateful? Yes! But it just annoyed me so much that they showed how little notice they take.. particularly when I spent months thinking of the contents of their presents :cool:0 -
we're list makers here  I send it on facebook and mums co-ordinates so no-one gets 2 of the same thing

right I'm off to bed night girls x
Good - I'm gonna tell OH he's odd, not me! (he teases me about my list making
)
Night night.. I should do the same! Meeting mummy friend tomorrow and she'll rant at me if she knows how late I've stayed up! Nighty night xx0 -

I'm the same, I don't ever want anything for xmas or birthdays. I'm not grumpy about the occasions, I would just prefer people to save their money instead of wasting it on something I don't really need or want. I have to be careful about what I say I like the look of in the run up to xmas, as if I fleetingly mention something looks good then I can be sure OH gets me that as a present! I have also said if he does want to buy me something then to see if he can get it as cheap as possible or secondhand or something, to save money. He doesn't though, he likes the whole present buying activity of walking into a shop and just buying something.0 -

I found a holiday that I liked in Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria - anybody been there? The hotel is on the marina.
It depends what you want from the holiday and what you like to see and do, and what you want to eat and drink.
I went to Playa Del Ingles in Gran Canaria with my ex. It was a purpose built tourist resort, with a lot of British/Irish pubs serving British/Irish food and beers. I only found one Spanish restaurant in the whole resort and even then, it wasn't very authentic. There wasn't much to do culture wise on the island as trips are geared up to fun things like water parks and stuff like that. My ex loved it as that's his perfect holiday, but I like eating local food and like historical and nature type excursions, so there wasn't a lot that I liked about it
Have a look on sites like Trip Advisor as they have reports from people who've been to the resort and hotel.
I haven't thought about Christmas yet. I get a bit irritated with Christmas and birthdays as I put lots of effort into thinking of presents that people want and making the day special. For birthdays, I bake people a cake and/or make a special tea, and go and visit them on the day. Hubby's family state what they want and it's bought for them which I don't like as I hate asking for stuff, and it takes the fun out of opening it if you already know what it is. My parents never bothered to come and visit on my birthday last month, and nobody made me a cake or cooked my tea for me, so I was a bit sad
Here I go again on my own....0 -
What about Playa Blanca in Lanzarote?
HOT but actually pretty nice
There are hotels for all budgets although I WOULD say it's worth coughing for an Air Conned room
I just can't sleep if it's too hot at night
The sleep gods must have listened to me yesterday... Alexandra slept through from 10:30 till 6:45 again! WAAAAAAAAAAAHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
She had the "easy digest" milk last night so not sure if that had anything to do with it or the fact I did everything I could think off to tire her out yesterday or a combination of the two
Feel much better for a nearly full nights sleep
(I woke up at about 4 in a panic because I could feel hubby and obviously I'd convinced myself that Alex was in the bed with us and I couldn't find her  took me a few seconds to actually wake enough to realise that she was infact NOT in our bed or even our room!
) DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -

We went years ago, before children and it was nice. We'd been to Playa De Ignles the year before, and found Puerto Rico a bit quiet - but I was about 22! Also very hilly - but if the hotel is on the marina that should be at the bottom, so ok. Ours was about as high up as you could get with 500 rickety steps to climb after a night out!
Theres everything you'd need there, and lots of sun (Even in winter), but as Becles said, its not very Spanish!Pjs are opened on Christmas eve though so we all look nice in our new PJs on the present opening photos
We do that too! And Mum and Dad still do it - even though i've left home 12 years ago, and my little sister is normally out on the beer Christmas Eve. (I've got a really sad image in my head now, of mum & dad sitting in their new PJ's on Christmas eve, putting a mince pie out for santa!) :rotfl:I'm thinking about getting DS a Nintendo DS
for Xmas. He'll be 6 and a half, and he'll love it but i have been saying no to one cos of his age.
I think we got DD1 hers when she was 6. First few weeks were a pain in the bum when she didn't really know how to do stuff - but she soon got the hang of it. She's nearly 9 now and loves it still - she wants to upgrade to a DSi for this years birthday or christmas. It was probably the longest lasting, interest holding present!
Off to continue catching up now - I didn't get on yesterday evening. Someone stole my gorgeous little girl who goes to bed at 7.30, and replaced her with one who was determined to giggle and practice her crawling skills til 11pm! Can I have mine back now please!
