OK just wanna make clear that it's NOT Terry's chocolate orange - IT'S MINE! No way you'd ever get me to share one... probably not even with Alex
I might get the rice and do as you did - day at a time and see how we get on... I am sure the longer she goes the better but she seemed incredibly focused on hubby's dinner earlier and was trying to stuff his hand in her mouth after he'd eaten the bread that was in it... she seemed incredibly determined to get to whatever that thing was that dad was putting in his mouth...
If she's anything like my baby he wants everything that we are holding...food or non-food:rolleyes: He is always trying to grab PS3 controllers off of anyone he gets near to.
Oh forgot to say...I didn' bother sewing anything onto the quilt cover to make him a playmat. I just shoved it down as was...i'm glad I didn't bother now as he never stays on the thing....he roly polys right off it constantly!!Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -
I heard somewhere (I think it was one of the HV but not sure) that the whole needing iron at 6mths in general is balls because breast/formula milk has iron in it
Mine's probably crap quality - my iron levels aren't always the best :rolleyes:My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: ».. Damn - Fritha beat me to it whilst my computer was bl00dy crashing AGAIN
It is because their iron stores don't last for the full 6 months because they didn't get a chance to build them up in the last bit of your pregnancy
And iron is V important - isn't it Weezl
Muchos taLOL - one of hubbys friends keeps asking if Benjamin can have quavershas been doing since Benjamin was about 6 weeks :rotfl:
OH's "best" (i use the term loosely!) mate was feeding his son Skips from very early on. Quickly followed by white chocolate buttons.. :cool:My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »My family 'do it themselves' hubby finds a 'man that can' and pays him...

LOL Ditto - you know it's my Dad doing the majority of the decorating work on my house! And ditto too on missing SB! :hello:0 -
caz that's interesting as from memory my astma started whilst we lived in a large city... I'd never really connected it because there were so many smokers in my family I walked round in a semi permanent smoke cloud as a kid... I always thought it was due mainly to that...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I think I might try the carrot - thanks
And I might have seen the BLW guide - but uhmm... I never read it because I was SURE that it wouldn't be relevant till Alexandra was at least 6 months :rotfl: It could just seem that maybe she doesn't agree! :rotfl:
Okay - I went to a BLW class type thing and said that I didn't believe in the magical '6 months' before you can start to wean (Benjamin was 15 weeks at the time and really interested in us eating).
The theory behind BLW is that the baby leads the way - therefore the baby decides when you start...there are 3 things that are needed before you start to give baby food (that they feed themselves this is...)
1. They can sit unaided
2. They can pick food up and put it in their mouth
3. The tongue-thrust reflex has subsided (this is a reflex which prevents a baby swallowing anything solid)
These 3 things typically happen at around 6 months...but could be earlier or later. Benjamin was sitting unaided by about 4 1/2 months and he has been very good at picking things up for ages...
He still does tongue thrust occasionally though - but I notice it more when I spoon feed him. TBH he is much happier smearing broccoli all over himself!!
We do baby rice in the morning (or porridge), a yoghurt or a mashed banana then he gets some chip shaped veg to play with in the afternoon...or a mush if time catches up with us (although he doesn't like v smooth things!)
Not sure if I will ever get to fit 3 meals into a day with our current routinewe need to get up earlier to do so!!!
