hi all i'm lurking from the baby thread already have 2 so technically:rolleyes: can be here too.:rotfl:
I'm exicted, we are having a takeaway tonight, and I've ordered some super yummy Gulab Jamun. Anyone ever made it?

You lucky so and so none of my take aways do them. best i done to replicate was a do-nut mix made into the same shape then steeped in syrup(warmed) with cardamon(cracked open) and cloves, it's been a while will need to search for recipe but their passable.

MFD, what's the tongue-thrust thing? I'm imagining sticking his tongue out but doubt it's that simple!

Kind of - but it is more to do with the back of the tongue trying to protect baby and stop solids going down before baby is ready for them - if you swallow really hard but kind of forwards you might get the idea :o

is everyone else on my wave length that choc and crisps aren't for LO's? I wouldn't (knowingly )let Chris have choc until about 18mnths and I have only let him have a 1/4 of a pack of hula hoops just this month

I am so with you!! DSS eats tons of chocolate with his mum but he knows he can't have much when he is here. She also lets him put salt on his meals which I completely disapprove of at 9yo.
I think Nanna and Nanny may have different ideas though - I let Benjamin try anything 'natural' (fruit, veg, yoghurt etc) but on Friday night MIL gave him a taste of an onion ring crisp  then told me she was really worried about him because I was letting him suck on a stick of celery

I guess it takes all sorts ;)

.. Bumbos are great for cultivating balance.

Oh I can't wait to get our Bumbo out! :D I know he's only diddy - might need a towel shoving down the back of him! - but his head control is getting really good so I don't think it'll be too many more weeks. Physio recommended them and she's coming again on 14th Sept when he's bang on 4mths so we'll see what's said then. Btw, the "wobbly head" vid I posted on FB was supposed to be an example of him at his worst - he's usually much better than that!
Hiya, elle! Hope you and Rhys are well.

    xx

:hello: We're grand, thankyou. Same to you and yours :D

They did with me this time. Last time it was a case of I was simply told we have to get the baby out now or you are going to die and a sheet of paper waved in front of me. I didn't even know I was having a general, in fact I didn't even realise I was having a section till they started shaving me! This time my consultant took the time and explained everything to me, the pros and cons of an elective section and an induced VBAC. The section was the best option.

But I also have to say that most of you knew I was expecting a horrendous pregnancy given what happened with the boys, but all in all, it wasn't that bad. And she is here, she is healthy, I'm healthy and she was my longest pregnancy! Given that my first consultant told us to terminate... I am so bloody glad I didn't :D:D:D She was a shock especially as I had been told not to have any more, but is a little miracle. I think what is meant to be will be.

As for a lot of things hun, you're my inspiration again :D xx

I do wonder how people wean babies that can't sit up TBH - even in the tiny ikea highchair (which you SO need if you are going to BLW) they need to be able to sit straight to be fed (either by themselves or with a spoon). I am sure I am missing something :o
Bumbos are great for cultivating balance.
they have them leaning back slightly, I used the bouncy chair for Chris :o
That's what I now don't like, I don't like thinking about it, I was basically pouring food down his throat :undecided (I weaned at about 20 wks i think)

Don't you remember by rant after I came back from that holiday in Feb with OH's best mate, his wife and son and I was outraged at the "oh, when he's one, he can start having proper food like fish fingers, chicken nuggets and smilie faces"?!

Incidentially, same said "best mate" still hasn't been to visit.. his best mate's son almost dies and he can't bother his !!!! to visit for over 14 weeks?!! Keeps txting asking when OH "is allowed to go out and play squash" but never any mention about visiting to see Rhys or asking how he is..
Oh that delightful fella, how could I forget :p Do you think OH will still play out with him? I remember you saying his opinon changed during 'the holiday' :p

The very same.. the one you described as "precious" ;)

No, OH will not be playing out with him. He's fuming at his lack of concern or effort - even told him so the other day (over MSN though so didn't exactly see his reaction, although I understand there was no apology).

Just as we expected they would, they're now playing "keeping up with the Jones" and having work done to their house. They're changing their utility into a room (it's off the garage and unplastered so they're having it plastered and changing the door or something) - apparently the plan is to make it into a computer room, "just like Craig's"

Nine days to go.. Getting excited? How exactly do you find out - letter, phone call, telepathy? ;)
