I have a question about sterilised bottles if anyone can help please...

After sterilising a bottle, if it is then assembled straight away (empty), how long will it be sterile for?

Aaron is having 1 or 2 bottles of formula a day alongside my breastfeeding - to take the strain off me as he feeds a lot and I'm still not fully well since the birth and even expressing was taking its toll - and although I remember the HV saying to me that the bottles are ok 'for a while' after sterilising if assembled immediately, I don't know how long for. We are going away for a couple of days and if I can sterilise the bottles beforehand and just take them like that to use when needed, it saves lugging the steriliser with us when we have literally no space in the car for everything as it is.

my little man is unhappy, and im reall struggling to work out why....he has had a full 4oz feed (and refused any more), cant get him to bring up any wind, clean nappy, but still he is wakening up every 5-10mins n crying til i pat him over to sleep again.....!!!??? :(

Mine does this quite often, it turned out to be trapped wind which he couldn't bring up and had to work it's way out the other end. Laying him across my lap face down or on his side and patting his back seemed to get it moving along.

I don't know how long, I'm sorry :( re: space, I have a packet of cold water travel steraliser bags from Boots which take up hardly any space. An idea for the future perhaps?

Do you have a TT hand breast pump? ours came in a microwave steraliser which holds just two bottles neatly. I use that when going to my parents house as it takes up no more room than the bottles themselves would:confused:

not sure tbh but I used to make up all Chris's formula in his bottles for a 24hr period so the last bottle he had was sterilised about 24hrs previous.
for traveling i recomend a big food bag for sterilising ;) I used the large freezer bags from tesco, you need to take a jug to measure the amount of water but it doesn't take up much space in your luggage as you can stuff socks or something in it :D

ETA if you want a micro steriliser I think tesco's travel steriliser (that holds 2 bottles) can go in the micro

I was just going to suggest laying across lap on tum:) Also laying on their back for short while then sitting them up and back patting again does it usually too. Another thing is infacol/dentinox drops.....usually restlessness is caused by trapped wind and you may find this is what is cause him to chuck back up half his feed....

Well I have been a busy bee:D Apart from the usual washing/sterilising/feeding/tidying/baking etc... I have just knocked up a wrap sling to practise with before I fork out money for some (correct) nice material:p He seemed really comfy in it:D

i know the tricks you mean, the lying down and up again patting does help, but you get that ackward really stuck one. We use infacol, never used the dentinox drops before....do they work the same as infacol!??

I need to tidy this room if nothing else before tomorrow morning and preferably also the downstairs loo... have the doctor coming tomorrow to give Alexandra her 2nd jabs and the livingroom is a tip... again... ARGH!
Madam has only just grudgingly gone to sleep so not sure I want to wake her up by tidying... hmmm
