  • Essexgirl - you are not far from me! Think 'Doe's Corner' and then the hamlet that nobody has ever heard of:rotfl:
Terrible news about the wee lass - just heard on 'Look East' that they have found her body. I was born and brought up in Clacton - the breakwaters are so dangerous.
hillstep - sorry to hear about the shingles - take care of yourself

House is very quiet with DD1 and DS1 away with their daddy. No news today on a moving date - sooooooo frustrating.
Have been scouring the slow cooker thread. I swear by my moskie, but it sound as if the SC can earn its place in the kitchen too - bought some lamb shanks in Sainsbugs today so will try them tomorrow.
Have a lovely evening all - beautiful sunny eve here in Essex. Perfect G & T weather!

Congratulations Mioliere and family...glad that everything went well and that you will soon see your beautiful new grand-daughter....they are wonderful as you already know!

Nice day here to-day....not a sign of any ripe blackberries or apples yet, but then we don't expect them until September...did find some nice pink Phlox on roadside to-day so pulled some up and have will hopefully have lots of plants for next year.

Spag bol from the freezer for dinner to-night, lots of salad stuff in garden so will have salad and crusty bread with it to fill us up.

Congratulations to other celebrants, hugs to all who would like one, early night to-night I think, have been finding it difficult to sleep the last few nights, not sure why, must have been 4am the last couple of nights before I dropped off, at my age you need all the beauty sleep you can get!

Sile got her stitches out to-day, she was delighted to be rid of the collar and to get outside again, although we have hundreds of wasps at present, we had a nest years ago so hope we don't have another one.

    Hello everyone,
Still low on sleep and struggling to keep up! Fell down the stairs again today, about the 50 millionth time recently. was holding the baby so couldn't stop my fall and jarred my back. feel ok now just sore! am seriously considering asking the doctor for a short term dose of sleeping tablets to get me back on an even keel. can't keep falling about all over the place!

Mrs_Mix hope your knee is sorted soon
Moliere :T congratulations on the birth of your grandaughter
Celyn mushroom burger recipe sounds yummy. i have cut and pasted to my huge word document full of recipes from this site!

PenPin Hope your leg is better soon
Hilstep2000 Sorry to hear about the shingles, hope they clear up soon
Essex-girl Know what you mean about the ham thing, I'm so stuck. I've been told too much tinned tuna is bad for them, so is too much fatty cheese and now ham. What do I give them??!!

Hugs to anyone that needs one, know I've missed lots of people out, brain like a sieve!

Well I finally made my big batch of spag bol. Was not as flavoursome as I'd hoped but I used basics frozen mince for the first time ever so maybe that was it. Was still nice but not very "meaty" tasting. I am going to try and make a canneloni type thing with a batch of it tomorrow. Have done a meal plan for a week, will see if I stick to it! I made some cobs but they were a bit doughy so will need another crack at them. Maybe i made them too big. Have also bought a loaf tin so i can have a proper shaped loaf instead of my usual blob of bread!
