Hi Wol so sorry to hear about your piggy - she was beautiful. When we lost Sparky we planted an apple tree over where he is buried and I made my mum promise she would never move house so we wouldnt leave him behind - that was 15 years ago and she is still there! x x

Weekend plans gone to pot. No friends anniversary party or visit to mum and dad as of half an hour ago.

Fleure off her food yesterday, losing weight. My guess is back molars need filing as she could eat grass/cucumber and syringe food but not hay or dried food.

Took to vet this morning hoping they would put her under and file teeth....unfortunately I got the standard "oh we can't see her teeth as there's too much food in her mouth"........errm, yes.... so that's a good indication there's probably a tooth problem then :wall:. Told to bring her back monday so they can put her under, clean out mouth and file teeth as appropriate and in the meantime keep her fed/hydrated with syringe stuff to build up her strength for anaesthetic. Not happy...but hse was still eating grass etc so had all her stuff packed to take her and Bandit with me this afternoon to parents.......except she's now completely off her food, sitting hunched up with her back to the grass and cucumber and won;t take stuff from the syringe even forcefully. _pale__pale__pale_...here we go again.

If I can;t get at least 2 ml down her every hour, she will dehydrate and need fluid injections....and might not last til monday. In any case she will porbably be too weak for the procedure. Rang the emergency vet....again they won;t do anything except give her fluid injections...for huge out of hours fees. Catch 22.....and i am now getting very cross.

....:idea:....I'm going to ring a different vet and see if they would be prepared to do it today.

    Back later

Awww...Wol sending hugs to you and remaining piggies:grouphug: - sorry to hear of the sudden demise of beautiful Pebbles :(

As for the vet:mad: - hopefully by now you have found a more sympathetic vet and not just a grasping, inconsiderate one like the one you have used to date.
