Z - mothercare isnt the place to advertise...in fact places where men go might be a good idea:rotfl:

I now have my posh leaflets detailing weddings and corporate events in the posh day spa - lots of farmers wives, consultants etc are members:cool: I already advertise in Your West Midlands Wedding Magazine (rather posh). My business cards are everywhere. New Hall and the Belfry are a bit far..and I have found some even more upmarket places than them - I am angling for an appointment (waiting for a call back) to view Red House Barn which is an exclusive use venue that only got its licence on Saturday (the local registrars are already fighting amongst themselves as to who should officiate there). In fact register offices maybe the places to have my cards.

Oh and I have formed at strategic alliance with an av hire company to organise the events that they provide equipment and entertainers for as they are always being asked and until now had no idea where to start.

Maybe I should do away with weddings altogether? More trouble than they're worth:rolleyes: I refuse point blank to deal with chavs - I want to tap into the money so will be looking for the pink pound too:D

Styptic pens - yes men use them when they cut themselves shaving instead of sticking toilet paper on their faces:rotfl: Although it seems pretty careless to cut yourself shaving if you ask me:rolleyes:

Horace you've obviously covered all the bases....so if you did away with weddings all together what would you do (some type of events managment I'm sure... but who would be the client?). You are clearly extremely entrepreneurial and have a good head for business.........

Talking about the pink pound..perhaps it;'s time you visited chez Wol so we can trip down the road to Brighton together for a bit of market research ;)

And the piggies are dying to meet their Auntie Horace.....:T:T

Loving the comments re shaving :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Life is a roller-coaster.....

Quickie update before I (hopefully) go clean out all the piggies (green waste bin men coming tomorrow for their fortnightly visit and don;t want to miss it :rotfl:)

Work day today good :j so now I can invoice jsut enough to cover outgings this month. :T (Ahem......Unfortunately KC I didn;t go to bed until 4am this morning. :o ...

...because I discovered..........StudentPhil :T:rotfl:......brilliant threads on the Moneysavers Arms :rotfl::rotfl:...going back to 2006 ..

......and then had a natter with SoSadAngel :A ...(Hi Ange :hello::kisses3:)

Two hour telephone mentoring session today (a bit later than planned :o) went much better than hoped (I didn;t snap once :D) Only two work items to do to catch up now...so on target by end of this week :T

Even more good news......Picked up an electric heater on freecycle this evening for Piggie Palace :j:j (we are due a cold snap on thursday so was getting a bit worried as it can get very cold in the log cabin...it doesnt warm up during the day as it's too well insulated :rotfl::rotfl: ) Will check it over and then put it on a timer in Piggie Palace (now all I need is a max/min thermometer to check I am not freezing my boys bol88x off :rotfl:)

All was going tickity boo/well and good........but then this evening I completely bombed out an hour ago while writing a reply to National Flood Forum which included a quote from my complaint to the Ombudsman. I can;t quite believe that I still (rather uncontrollably:o) burst into tears when reading back through my statement about the last two years :(..

.. Here's a quote from part of it.......
“It is now two years since the flood event itself, one year since I was “re-instated” in my house. I understood that re-instatement means “restored to former condition/position” – clearly I am in a much worse position now than I was before the flood. .........

    etc
.....................Somehow I now have to find some £25,000 to rectify the defects in my house which are still continuing to manifest themselves and suffer all the inconvenience and stress of builders again. I am living in my once beautiful home, that was previously finished to a very high standard of decor, and now all I can see is damp coming into the lounge every time it rains, wallpaper peeling off walls, shoddy paintwork, worktops coming away from the wall and as I walk, I snag my feet and fingers on broken and splintering flooring and joinery. I have no confidence in the builders “re-instatement” and continuously worry what is going to be discovered next. I cannot have my nieces and nephews to stay until the house is made safe for children.

.......The severe emotional and financial consequences that I have suffered since my property flooded in July 07 and that comprise this complaint, could all have been avoided if the insurance company and their nominated agents had handled this claim properly from the outset, with due professional care and diligence. I am still finding it very difficult to come to terms with the subsequent consequences and impact to myself. To have gone through it is shocking enough...but to have to keep reliving it through the complaints procedure is extremely distressing for me. Regardless of the outcome of this complaint to the Ombudsman, I sincerely hope the insurance company will learn from this example and put appropriate claims management procedures/agents/suppliers in place so that no-one else will ever have to suffer the same experience and consequences.

ooops ...leaky eyes again just reading it through....:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o....

..and the bottle of wine is open.....

Anyhow....must get a grip...:wall:.and hopefully at least clean out one piggie cage this evening if nothing else :o..

    See you later folks

    Thanx KC :kisses3:

Feeling much better today......and no ill effects from the wine (probably cos I stayed up til 2am)

Cleaned out ALL the piggies last night :Tand bin men duly came and took away the old litter for recycling.....phew.....

Another 2 hour mentoring session today (and one tomorrow and one friday)..and I have finally finished the ironing :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j.........but then fell asleep on sofa again this evening....:o

Got my work organised..and sent off all my invoices for September:T..I am going to be horrendously busy during the whole of October ...but at least it means a good month for invoicing :T

Tomorrow I must do two complete pieces of work to get back on target.....and check this electric heater I got on freecycle for Piggie Palace is safe . It's gonna be a cold night tomorrow..7degrees (although warmer nights later on this week at about 12/13) However, sunday is going to be down to only 2 degrees (which probably means 0 here as we are a "cold sink" that is always 2 degrees colder than the temperature up on the main road :o). This is too big and sudden a temperature shock for the piggies and they could easily contract pneumonia (I have lost pigs before because of a sudden night temperature drop as autumn draws in :()

Oh...and I have succumbed....unfortunately the heating is now on for a bit in the morning......I was hoping to make it til October.....but the house was getting too cold at night for little Bandit.....who incidentally has now found his voice again.....it's great to hear him wheeking away when you go into the lounge......:T:T

    Nite all.....
    xxx

Looks like I'll also lose my hanging baskets and beans this weekend (well at least that means no more watering every night ....and they're just about flowered/beaned out now anyway :rotfl:)

Wol, I just love the way you've got this high-powered business life on, and in contrast you run your personal life like a whole series of The Good Life. Total respect and admiration for that........

And 2am is better than 4am, but still not wonderful :naughty::cool:

And wheeking in the background... lovely. I went into town yesterday - when I was coming back, I met a cat who's a regular on the fence where she lives, and he enjoyed being stroked - purring madly - got distracted by snuffling into a plant, but then thats lovely to see too :rotfl:

I will try and clear some space in a becoming more frenetic by the minute diary to visit Auntie Wol. I have been invited to Alicante for a week - it will be my first holiday since January if I decide to go (would fly out at 6.30am on 12 Oct and return on 17 Oct), of course it is dependant on whether or not I can get my appointment brought forward to next week.

The remaining leaflets have been taken to the Pear Tree where they are going to be put in the bridal goodie bags for this weekend's fair - I may well exhibit there next year. I am off to a BNI breakfast meeting tomorrow although I can't help feeling like a prize turkey and as though I am being conned.

    Phones ringing back laters xx
