I have to admit I have really not got organised at all today and have done virtually nothing except visit local garden centre and came away forgetting what I actually went there for :eek: :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: - garden vouchers for my mums birthday this week :o

I have finally finished sorting out the kids pressies/parent pressies/booze etc i am taking tomoz to brothers (My nieces and nephewswere in New Zealand last Xmas and this is first opportunity to give them their pressies - ah well - only 5 months too late :rotfl::rotfl:....it's the thought that counts :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)

Had a very VERY nice joiner visit this morning together with regular totty builder in order to inspect what he had to do to mitre the new worktops He will be coming back on tuesday to do the job - as will the lovely plasterer- so Wol will be dishing out bacon butties all round ;). (Probably why I have been unable to concentrate on anything at all today :o;):rotfl:)

Hopefully if the gobby plumber is back in wed/thurs (NB he will NOT be getting a bacon butty - more like a knucke sandwich if he so much as opens his mouth again about how valuable his time is or what should happen to my piggies ) I should be on course to having my new kitchen back by next weekend :T:T

I have to take Willow into the vet first thing tuesday morning for a swab. Willlow has an abcess near his scent gland on his rump which needs to be cutured to idenitfy the bug and test for antibiotic sensitivity - vet is reluctant to surgically remove it as he (the vet) is still traumatised from his experiences with Ginger :rotfl::rotfl:
Builders therefore turning up really early (at 7.30 am .).because I am leaving at 8am.:eek:

I HAVE managed to put shoe polish on two pairs of ankle boots; wrapped a few pressies for tomoz.....watch my recorded sessions of Cowboy Builders....and give Grommie a steam bath as he started wheezing noisily again late afternoon  (every time he does that my heart stops as i think - "this is it" :()

Last night and today have been really cold and wet and have put me into hibernation mode again - I swear my fingers nearly got frostbite today at the garden centre:rotfl::rotfl:- Poor piggies (Maple, Willow, Bandit and Bailey) outside for the first time last night - they are NOT happy - I'm thinking of bringing them indoors tonight in temporary accomodation as the massive temperature shift (from 20degC in Piggie Palac to 7degC last night will stress them and cause more pneumonia problems as they have now got their summer coats so won;t be able to withstand the sudden massive cold temperature drop :(). Muffin, Grommie and Beechie are still indoors and Ginger (bless him) is (as we know) chatting up the vet nurses in a constant temperature environment somewhere south of here

Hmm the microwave is pinging - guess it means the BBQ chicken portion, microwave chips and green beans are ready :)

    Back later

I've had one of those Zoned out days as well today....

Think it's wise to bring the piggies in as it's really cold..I can't believe the change in temp from last week.

Enjoy looking at top totty on tuesday x

Well Grommie is now hopefully getting his rocks off with Muffin (more like Grommie is being beaten into submission - she is a very fussy dominant female piggie :D....who doesn;t suffer fools gladly - oops....sounds familiar....owners and pets etc etc :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)

Maple and Willow now inside and very happy :D

As for me - no achievements today but just a kind of "re-levelling" day..shame to lose the opportunIty to sort out a few things but, hang it!!; there is always tomorrow ;):T

    Nite nite all

    Hi KC

Thanks for popping in this afternoon - it was lovely to see you - sorry I was a bit zoned out today :o

It was lovely to see you! I'm just sorry it was a drop-in, not a proper visit - I'd left the house at 9am, I was shattered.... mind you, when I raced off for the bus, it arrived so soon after I'd got to the bus stop, I didn't even have time to get my ticket out in preparation  so my timing was spot on at least :o You weren't zoned! And it was amazing to see the place - I could really tell the difference in the workmanship of what's now being done, compared to what went before.

I forgot to mention that in addition to the Monbretia/Alchemillia and Lysmachia perennials I can pot up for you, I am also growing hollyhocks from seed this year (surruptitiously harvested from a National Trust garden I visited last year ;)). OOh also can pot up some of my oregano/marjoram; provide some aquilegia seedlings and some forget-me-nots - a.k.a. cottage garden stuff to provide a bit of colour amidst the yummy veggies you are planning to grow.
That sounds fantastic! I plan to make the north border as big as possible, for food plants and pretties (and cut down on the grass I need to mow - not like yours, but more than I *want* :D told you I'm lazy :D:D:D

So be warned - I will be making a delivery of a boot load of various plants to you once you are "in residence" in HH :T:T

Will give you a bell this week when i am more compos mentis ;)

Hurray! Yep, you have to come round to see the place asap - and I meant to ask you, do you know anything about growing food plants in gardens where there's been a dog? I know I mustn't grow root crops in that soil, but what about ordinary plants - herbs, rhubarb and the like?

You've got a family day today! Have a lovely day out Wol, thats nice to hear you getting out of building work for the day

hi, i would certainly like to come to the bash, but i really think i should be careful because of the work situation. Had a day full of meetings on friday and ended the day feeling like i'd been steam rollered. I think the stress and worry is bringing out the worst in a lot of people.

OH is at the lottie today with his new toy - battery powered strimmer, but he's had to start off by rescuing a hodgepig from our bean netting, which i'm feeling really bad about. We have lots of weeds unfortuantely. The weather has certainly been good for them. I'm going to have a day of 15mins, ie i'm gonna set the kitchen timer a lot so i get some jobs done.
