Hi Wol and all..hope everythings going ok for you.You at least sound as though you're getting some rest and things aren't quite as hectic.
You all seem very busy with all your gardening. You will have lovely gardens.0 -
Rang the client yesterday and postponed today's appointment until after Easter :j
Wrote up meeting last friday and sent to client. Did a load of decluttering and finished the ironing off last night. Numpty now has a bed to sleep in :j:j
Realised just how much stuff needs to be ebayed
Have pootled on MSE this morning and now about to do a mega shop plus take a load of stuff into the charity shop plus get some garden compost to do the seeds etc.
Have two bits of work to finish off today and tomorrow plus invoicing but pleased the pressure is now off and I am not working to the previous manic schedule so I am takig each day/chore as it comes
April is already booked up with work :T and will not be taking on any nore work that month as i intend to concentrate on generating some dosh to pay off the Barclaycard. Time to get to grips with ebay methinks
I do need to take some stuff to be valued at auction - found a local one so will book an appointment and depending upon what they say, put it into the next sale. Now Booked two weeks friday
During my decluttering I have found some old currency that I can change back at the post office
Edit: Woo hooo - I am amazed - £134.34 in total from four different currencies- luckily all the notes were still valid even though they were from holidays as far back as 2004 :T:T:T
Emptied the sealed pot last night, checked my Quidco and survey earnings for the last financial year and will transfer all over to the CC in the next few days
Figures to follow later this week
Wish I could say my garden looks nice Taxi - it's taken a bit of a bashing what with the new fencing, the top totty digger, the building work last summer and then a lot of my new shrubs in the Monkey Garden got felled by the snow/frost. Hopefully it will look less bare by the time July comes round :T....but it really does need a lot of work this spring and the lawns (or rather moss) still haven;t recovered from the flood and subsequent neglect in 2007/2008
. Still I'm looking forward to the warmer weather and getting outside to do a bit of [STRIKE]slashing[/STRIKE] pruning, digging and planting
..
Ooooh..I feel the urge to order another skip coming on ....Numpty where are you :rotfl:

Hi all - after much coughing and spluttering all weekend and lazing around in bed til 11am this morning..I now have an appointment tomorrow morning with another GP. Have a breakfast meeting on Wednesday followed by a seminar that has been booked and paid for so I don't want to miss it.
A lovely lady from a magazine contacted me today with a view to advertising so I have asked to see a copy of the magazine first before I commit but I get a quarter page for £100 with free advertising on their website for 12 months and several thousand leads from various wedding shows in London and Birmingham:cool: I have said that I will perhaps consider advertising next month (in other words I am too ill today to be bothered with any decision making). Found out too that the free paper in Bromsgrove did a feature on my business..funny they never told me or paid me:mad: I don't want to be associated with that rag anyway as it is too low end for the likes of me:D
Anyhow - I am trying to have another peaceful day..have been scoffing plums all weekend (thanks to the lady that dumped them at the checkout as I bought them for me). Muchos coughs and splutters.0 -

Glad you;re getting a second opinion Horace - and that you;re taking it easy. Lots of coughing is actually very draining - pholcodeine linctus (on request from the chemist) helps you sleep at night - I hope you're not letting this current "slow down and recover" opportunity go to waste and have some good top totty DVD's to keep you company(I always go for Pirates .....Orlando Blooom does it for me every time
)
I love plums - but unfortunately they don;t like me - too similar to their aged parents the prunes I think :rotfl::rotfl:
More Vit C and zinc for you my gal methinks - whether or not you believe all the hype, there is no doubt for me that extra Vit C works miracles for humans and piggies alike
Hope the seminar is worthwhile and you find some up-market places to advertise soon.:D
BTW - have you thought of expanding your sphere of operations to [STRIKE]global domination[/STRIKE] a second base darn sarf (thinking about the Canaries stuff?)....I am on the borders of Surrey Sussex and Kent - plenty of people down here looking to get married with the requisite bank balances..:rotfl:....and a few well placed ads IYSWIM......and plenty of space chez Wol if you wish to sojourn a while to "service your clients"..(oops BOB will be on again making smutty inuendos :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:).... .providing you are not allergic to piggies of course
Hope you feel better tomorrow and that you make it outdoors on wednesday

Well following on from my success at the bank today......
Last friday's client rang me and said she and her (confrontational) partner had a long discussion after our meeting and now it is just her in the business - both of them thanked me for my input and honesty and the fact that I prompted them to have the conversation :T:T
Actually, although I feel quite sad that I "caused" that discussion, I also feel really pleased that the conversation happened and as a result, this is one business that will NOT set up with the wrong foundations (Unlike so many of the ones I have dealt with in the past "after the event" and then have had to "rectify"). It also gives me the encouragement to continue with being "frank and honest" with clients and if necessary challenging their perceptions/ideas......(even if it is unpleasant at the time.)...rather than just tell the client what they want to hear (which to be honest I can;t do without sacrificing my own integrity).
So as a result of this, I have generated some more income to continue working with said (nice) client :T:T...but not her (now ex) partner :T:T:T:j:j:beer::beer:
I have also booked Numpty in to see my chiropracter on Tuesday 6th April
....so I'd appreciate it if you would all be "on alert" at about 4pm that day to see exactly how far his screams reach across the UK ...after all, there colud be money riding on this (Z please note :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)
I've dumped a load of stuff at the charity shop today ..:); booked the auction valuation :T; ordered more special (and very expensive ) imported hay from the USA for piggies (Ie no fungal or parasitic contamination as it has to be fumigated before it arrives here, unlike our own stuff) . Put more washing on...and done the shopping at Sainsburys......but oh dear......I then got sidetracked when I got home and have spent the last three hours dribbling over lovely piggies wanting new homes ..:drool:..
......I MUST resist..:wall::wall:.......but I am still so tempted to get some girlies for my boys this Easter cos they shouldn;t really be living on their own..(except perhaps Bandit because he can't [STRIKE]stop rogering everything in sight[/STRIKE] control his willy :eek:) ....and there are all these lovely lovely lady piggies needing forever homes at various local rescues..oh..oh...oh..stop me someone please....:o:o:o ..
Right, back on track now......I know she is a lovely chocolate agouti female who is timid and needs a lovely old codger like Grommie to look after her....but I WILL resist.....maybe...:o
Back later once the stream has settled down after all the rain we've had today

Do you ever stop for a rest?
WOW..you've been really busy...glad that the straight talking sorted the client out and made them re evaluate before they had gone down the wrong path...so all worked out well in the end.
Good luck with the barclaycard but I think you'll soon be rid of it with all the ideas you've come up with.0 -
Taxi - Wol is like me..we're both manic when it comes to work we just never stop:cool:
I have DVDs and a DVD player which I haven't used since the New Year..I spend my time watching National Geographic (I am not supposed to have the channel but Virgin have made a boo boo:rotfl:) - which was great yesterday as I managed to watch a programme all about the Saxon hoard that was dug up at a secret location in the Midlands.
Am hoping that the doc will give me some strong cough mixture as the over counter stuff just isnt cracking it for me..so far I have consumed 2 bottles of Covonia and 1 of Lloyds expectorant:eek: - I have even opened an old bottle of cloudy lemonade (cheapo from Lidl. a shop that I havent been to since well before Christmas) as flat lemonade even though it could be off (it tastes overly lemony) is the only thing I can drink:eek:
Anyway I am so glad the woman ditched her vile business partner - she is bound to succeed now if she listens to you.
You don't need any more piggies - female piggies mean babies and you don't want them especially when Roger (I mean Bandit) can't control himself:eek: You have your hands full with the piggies you have without adding more.
One day I will come and visit you Wol but I dare not with this persistent lung infection. As for taking Numpty to a chiropractor..that is really mean because he will scream louder than he has ever screamed in his life..they will be able to hear him on the moon:eek:
Best get back to my faffing about..need to be up early tomorrow as I need to be in the docs at 10.50am and I have been dragging myself out of bed at 11am:eek:0 -

Poor Numpty indeed :rotfl: but the relief afterwards is a beautiful thing
Wol, you're not!!!!! going to get another piggy, are you? I do know the feeling - I was always happy with just the two cats, but I used to collect ceramic cats - and I had to stop looking at market stalls in the end, because they were calling to me:o:o and I couldn't bear to meet their eyes
You've got enough on your plate! Volunteer at one of the rescue centres if you want to ... you need some you time more than piggy time! Mind you, I wish I had your energy - even without this winter's lurgy, I don't have this sort of energy. Good for you!2023: the year I get to buy a car0
