Wol, I know that we're supposed to have the internal strength to be validated only by ourselves - but I'm not sure how that myth ever got going. I do think its a myth - human beings are social creatures, we live in groups - even antisocials like me belong to some groups, whether its online here or Egyptology or a counselling organisation or what have you. Of course you need validation from somewhere outside yourself - well, not in terms of survival, but in terms of quality of life, yes, you do, and the rest of us do too. And that goes especially when there's been something tough going on - just to be able to say it to someone and kick back, and have them support you unconditionally.

We *do* need to give some of it to ourselves too, of course - and if you have a hard time accepting that, okay, maybe thats an issue to address. But the guineas and family and Easter are pressing on you too ......

So, listen to this: you're great! I really admire your determination, your focus, your kindness, your energy, your ability to connect to people and give to people. Amongst other things.

I hope the guineas are okay - oh, that leads me to another positive for you: I value the way you value life - life is precious and the valuing of it is precious. And so are you!

Wow!!!Words cannot express ...Thank you KC...Wol is trying hard not to blub :o :kisses3:

PS Interesting about the internal strength bit....discussion to be arranged soon methinks- maybe at a windmill perchance??? ;);)

    Hugs Hun
    :grouphug::grouphug:

    Hope you're OK

re the figures etc - please don;t hesitate to ring me to discuss and leave a msge if I don;t pick up right away - I'm really carp on the internet about this type of stuff.....much prefer the dog 'n bone ;)

    What KC said... :T - a 1000 times better than I could! :D

It sounds like work is emotionally draining as well as very busy at the mo. Be kind to yourself hun. If you don't feel good enough about yourself and your work to believe you are doing a good job then can you at least accept that you are doing the best that you can in the circumstances for your clients?

Re easter and family... You are standing up for yourself and putting your needs and wishes ahead of others. :j Good! :T Why shouldn't you do what you want to do? Or for that matter why don't they do what you want to do?

I hope your guineas are ok.

i can never say it as well as others, i'm a foot in mouth syndrom person but Wol you have been one of the most understanding folk about losing my piggies last year and other stuff i've been going though. I'm always amazed at the way people on these boards really come through for each other when most of us would unknowingly pass each other in the streets in real life without realising who we are. I count you and many others on this thread/ and boards good friends and i'm the type of person who takes a long time to get to know people and make friends but once you're a friend...... you can never get rid of me.

I'm glad it all made sense! Don't worry about blubbing, sweetie, its all part of it.

The windmill thing! We never did get to do it last year. We could talk about the figures if you're not too knackered.... I'll pm you (I'm off to bed *right now* :) )

Wol what you need is to sit in a darkened room listening to Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon and just be..failing that slap on some Tangerine Dream and just be...it works for me.

Sid Snot is still here - how can one tiny button nose produce so much I have no idea..it has been either running or bunged to the point where I have to snort vicks:eek: I am also grumpy so be warned:eek: Its another day off for me tomorrow as I really can't concentrate.

Put the wine back in the cupboard where you can't see it..you don't need it...start thinking about taking Numpty shopping for lightshades as he has decided that he wants some (methinks that he has a g/f that he is trying to impress;)).

I had a nightmare last night about my mother and how she really looked down her nose at my business (I haven't told her that I am self employed as part of my preservation tactics) and so I cut her off and had nothing to do with her at all..it was one wierd dream I can tell you and was quite disturbing in its own way:eek:

:grouphug::grouphug:.....Vicks vapour bath is great for unbunging- even Grommie likes it when he gets a snotty nose....and I use Zirtek antihistamine if my nose is like Niagara falls - dries it up and stops all the itchiness within a couple of hours

Have stashed it in the padlocked shed so not easily obtainable! :rotfl::rotfl:

I remember the deafening silence when I first changed career from being a research scientist to being in sales - I don;t hthink my parents ever got over it. When running our own company it seemed to perk them up :rotfl::rotfl:......fast forward and now I'm self employed - well, apparently it;s not really a "proper job" is it :rotfl::rotfl:

Hope you start to feel better today Horace. Next time you think you are about to get a lurgy, a quick snort of First Defence is apparently great at stopping it in its tracks - (although I'm sure Z wouldn;t agree with that last remark in view of his own experience :rotfl::rotfl:)

The good news is that (hopefully) by end of today I will be up to date with work and invoicing - and forecast that all march work etc will be done and dusted by monday next week and can then afford to stop for Easter :T:T (Good job as need to clear up the house and remove Mount Everest from the bedroom before certain visitors arrive :D)

The bad news is that my insurance company today have refused to cover my hormone treatment so I have had to cancel visit to specialist tomorrow.:mad::mad:
..they are saying that not only is the specialist concerned not included in my hospital list anymore, but because my oestrogen deficiency is in their opinion purely menopausal then I am not covered (nor for breast screening or anything else - they now only cover acute medical conditions)......they seem to have conveniently forgotten about the little friend in my head that is also contributing to the current problem .

Why are things always so difficult :wall::wall::wall::wall:. I am obviously fighting their decision all the way and have referred it back to their Chief Medical Officer - then I suppose I will have to complain and then I suppose I will have to take them to the Ombudsman ...It really pees me off that insurance companies year by year stealthily erode the T's and C's and level of cover you originally signed up for :mad:

I am eeking out my current stash of patches to one per week instead of two per week - but like yesterday evening, by the end of 7 days on one patch I am sinking rapidly :(

Wol toddles back huffily to work stuff :rotfl:

Edit: May as well add insult to injury and get it all out of the way in one go :rotfl:- Just chased up Ombudsman adjudicator and they are STILL waiting for response to their questions from insurance company - cannot provide any estimated date for a decision :(

Hi Beanie - he won;t prescribe or offer any advice until he has done diagnostic tests - which again the insurance company won;t cover but include bone density scan, mammogram and loads of bloods (and possibly an MRI to check on the current size of my little friend)

So seems no point in paying him £250 tomorrow just so he can take my medical history.:(

But I am working on another cunning plan to sort this problem out so that hopefully my GP will feel able to continue to prescribe these patches

Coordinating and communicating with these specialists is really a full time job on its own  Really, really unacceptable, but I'm glad to hear you have a cunning plan :D
