Wooo hoo!!!
Came home via Sainsburys for the weekly shop and oh goody :j:j- my favourite wine (very nice Chilean Sauvgnon Blanc is half price plus an extra 25% discount for 6 bottles or more, reducing it from £8.00 to £3.00 :money::money:. So I have bought two cases today (NB: Z please note before you post another wagging finger :rotfl::rotfl: I will be stashing them in Piggie Palace ready for the Rave ....)
So I guess I will be toddling back to Sainsburys this weekend to see what else decent they have on incredibly special 50% off plus extra 25% offer. I believe I need to search for a certain Grenache Rose (Smashed please note); a Chardonnay (they have a premium First Cape on half price offer atm that I have had before that is eminently quaffable) , a Merlot and a Cabernet Sauvignon...
..oooh just found out I can get the same deal on line as long as delivery is before March 23rd (saves petrol :money:) and means I can also try and find that extremely tasty Merlot my neighbour got me for Christmas from Sainsbury's Calais.
Oh...and don;t worry non-wine peeps.....I will be watching during the next few months for special deals from wherever on beers/lager/soft drinks etc....and that goes for food too :money::money:
Wol makes mental note to procure (freegle) a large fridge/freezer for Piggie Palace next month...and ask Uncle Mick not to throw back all the trout he is catching atm :rotfl::rotfl:
Hmmm so that's baked trout, BBQ'd trout, fried trout, trout rissotto, trout pate , fish pie, fish soup:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
(...:shhh:....only joking ..you;re all getting :spam:...oops whatagiveaway ...:p)
I am getting very excited already and it;s only March :D:j:T:beer:

I'm glad you've got good med news, Wol, *and* a patch of time to do the behind the scenes work. I *am* over my wibble, ta, and forging on ahead.
EDIT - You know, often, when I post on your diary, the thing at the top of the screen is your Douglas Adams quote about potatoes in your sig.... I just love that quote :kisses3:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Wol - please don't rub it in about warm days..I am feeling pretty carp as I have laryngitis (self diagnosed) and I cannot speak today so I am praying that the phone doesnt ring. Even had to resort to buying my shopping online at Sainsbury's (I don't really like Sainsburys but they are the only ones who could deliver tomorrow) - I have very little to eat - 1 dry crust, a lump of cheese and perhaps some soup and that's it.
I still havent unpacked my suitcase - I feel so rubbish.
As for trout you can keep it - I'll have the :spam: mignt not be driving to your bash so may need floor space.0 -
Oh Horace, you poor thing, you sound really bad. Its awful when you're on your own and you're sick - you've still got to cope with your own food and hot drinks, I know. Some soup might be just the thing - but even a takeaway might be better tonight, you can order from websites and pay with a debit card I think - needs must.
Unless you have a dishwasher, think about adding disposable cutlery and plates to your Sainsbury's order - use it and chuck it, its just one less task to do.

Hello Wol, here's to a chilled out weekend, hopefully with some garden time. Chickens laying a bit more now, so obviously winter is behind us. Still a bit chilly, though, but the light mornings are a pleasure. Cat is spending more time outside , bit of a wuss really, as next door's female cat keeps flirting with him and he just cannot be arrised. I say it's because he is neutered, but OH thinks he's a homosexual (the cat, not OH). Either way he's a big softy but very polite - looks in through the catflap window to see if he has permission to come in before trying to enter. Have to train him to wipe his own paws next when it's raining! Hope pigs of the small and furry persuasion are all well. One life - your life - live it!0

Unfortunately for me my phone has been ringing and I have been harassed by the peeps who are doing my business cards, they keep sending proofs and when I don't respond (because I have been vegging on the sofa) they ring me:mad:
I have put away the washing up that I did before I went away - not much to wash up now as I have only used two plates since I got back. May go out later to the chippy if I can be bothered to walk that far or may ring up Ben's for a lasagne. Unfortunately, I am the dishwasher.
Thankfully I haven't coughed much today but my mouth is now sore - I can tell I am run down as the mouth ulcers have appeared:mad: Still I shall veg out and do very little and hopefully this laryngitis will be gone by next week...I blame all the sick folks in my hotel and on the plane.
Sorry for being a whiney whingey old bag.0 -
Sorry to hear that you are so poorly Horace..hugs to you x0
