Good grief. I know no-one can work at that pitch for long, Wol, but I am *full* of admiration for what you're doing. Well done you - as you say, wind down over April, take it easy (and then start up again on a more regular basis). Brilliant!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Just catching up with your diary now that I have returned from my overseas trip...I will definitely go back to the island but will go self catering next time as the half board arrangement didnt work too well as on 4 nights I was out and didnt eat there.:D
Slept most of Monday and Tuesday - I got into the habit of having an afternoon siesta and going to bed at 9pm:eek: Meetings didnt happen really due to lack of time and stress on behalf of one groom the other one was so laid back he was almost horizontal:eek: Met them all on Wednesday night as we went to a tapas bar in Maspalomas and met the various parents, staff from the wedding business, the reverend, and friend stuart. The wedding was fantastic but there are things that I would have done differently to take into consideration the weather conditions. I wouldnt have sprinkled fresh rose petals along the red carpet as no sooner as they were sprinkled they were then blown off and the same goes for the order of services on the chairs as these blew into the pool (insert rolleyes smilie). I met some gorgeous people - some really fab gay chaps (talk about dishy..its such a waste:eek:). The service went on for a bit so although it was extremely hot the wind was blowing so you got a bit of wind and sunburn. The buffet was fab..fish, salads, roast pork (they roast it in salt so it is sweet), roast beef, fillet steak, roasted peppers, copious amounts of wine, champagne, wedding cake. We had a singer (who to be honest couldnt hold a tune in a bucket and I was too polite to say anything - he certainly couldnt hold a note without going offkey) and we had a drag artiste who was very funny.
Friday, I went on one tour with Thomas Cook - a boat trip to spot dolphins..saw loads and they had calves with them, then off to Mogan market where I haggled and bought stuff. Mostly I lazed about.
Had lunch on Sunday - a nice veal cordon bleu well it would have been nice if they hadn't poured curry sauce on it:eek: - I didnt know that it came with sauce..so I had to carefully scrape it off and remove the hard casing of breadcrumbs so that I could eat it.
Hotel was ok but wouldnt stay there again as they are too strict and their coffee is rank.
Oh and Wol, I took my business cards to the wedding and spent my time networking with folks:rotfl:
Was due to fly back at 14.45 yesterday but flight delayed until 15.05 - were bussed out to the plane and then we stood on that bus for 15 minutes with no air con in the blazing heat until we were almost fainting before being allowed onto the plane - they had to change shifts:mad: Ended up sitting next to people I know..a chap that used to be the assistant fire officer at the university and he remembered me being fire warden. Plane landed in UK at 19.50 and I got home at around 9pm. Only had £20 on me and the cabbie had decided that his credit card machine didnt work so I had to go into the flat (my neighbour came down and took my case upstairs - she's jolly nice and kept an eye on things whilst I was away) - scrabbled around for money and got my debit card, handed over what money I had and then ran to the cashpoint - gave money to cabbie and then he asked me what I was going to do next so I said that I was going over the road for some milk so as he was going back to the city centre he told me to hop in and he would drop me off for free:eek: (the fare from my place to the shop is £9.11 as I saw it on the meter - so that was money saved:cool:).
Best crack on - have calls to make, emails to send, emails to answer etc.0 -
Welcome back Horace..sounds like you had a good time and very productive as well as some relaxation time.0

Hi Wol
Good to see things looking so positive - just don't forget about some me time (well, you time).
Hope you're taking some time for yourself with everything else you're doing.

Hi Wol, just having a catch up.
Piggies are settling in well, they now dont dive for cover straight away as soon as they see me and instead give me a whole 2 seconds before they make a run for it! Lots of cuddles and hand feeding veg and they are quite happy being handled. Ava is much more timid than Benten and I am hoping its not long before they are wheeking when they see me instead of hiding!
Hope you are getting some rest. You have had a lot of late nights by the sound of it recently!
Smashed, so sorry to hear your news. Hope you are ok xxxPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000
