Wol...sometimes I could give you a good shake...you are one fabulous woman and don't you forget it (in fact to remind yourself go and stand in front of a mirror and say I love You..you need to learn to love yourself so do this every day). As for ex boss that employs your services for free or for very little when he as employed an incompetent twonk..then put your professional hat on and charge him a fee of say £100 per hour (or whatever your fee is) - make your fee higher than normal otherwise he will see you as a doormat and think "oh that Wol will do the work for free or on the cheap, she's good like that" He is your velcro monkey and velcro monkeys can be treated:D
No offence Numpty - but velcro monkeys is a recognised condition for us non-teflon coated types ....Wol's words come back to haunt her ...Good call Horace..:T.I d forgotten
Uhm re the wine - instead of buying a huge bottle that contains 4 large glasses or 6 small ones - buy a tiny bottle that contains one glass or several thimble-fuls if you want to eke it out:D:oDidn;t even make it to Nargle's ice tray
:o...my local shop used to stock half botles which I bought...unfortunately they have not been in evience for thelast few months
I wanted to do music O level but it clashed with biology and I couldnt do both, same as I wanted to domestic science but couldnt because I was doing Latin.
Caecilius and Matella degenerated rather quickly into a truly boring old couple..and i hated the servus laborius.....so giving up Latin for music was easy :rotfl::rotfl:.
I know that I got a B in my mock music O Level. I used to play the recorder and was in the baroque music club at school for a while
Spooky.......:eek:.......I am just about to ebay all my recorders - from descant to tenors...Allous specials....:(:D.
as well as being in the choir (the choir was ok but in assemblies we had to sit in front of the stage facing the boys (who would spit, giggle and generally be annoying little twerps). Can remember my English teacher asking us to sing at his wife's funeral..although a sad occasion it was happy and took place in Great Witley Church which is a fabulous building. I know I can't sing now...my neighbours discovered that on Saturday after they decided to play Shine by Take That repeatedly at full volume so I joined in with my croaky off key voice - funny how my singing made them turn the volume down:rotfl:
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Just love your post H...cheered me up no end...thanx ....One day I'll tell you about my exploits at the mid Somerset Festival...annual competition for kids for all types of things ...choirs, orchestras, solo instrumentals,,,speech and drama....very character forming......bit like an early X factor :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Wol, I am sleepy and had migraine so not really capable of making sense of allthe quotes.
I don't get why you think you have failed? or aren't good enough. the person he hired !!!!!!ed up and so he turns to you to fix it, HE made the mistake not you. Yes he should have just hired you in the first place - his bad judgement, not a reflection on your abilities?
It maybe the pills and sleepyness oversimplifing things so I will shut up now.
Many hugs

Flashback!!!
All those pretty silver cups and medals I won as a child. for speech and drama and piano...they always used to be on display...but have now disappeared since my parents have moved...:(
Where are they ...why wasn;t I offered them....they skipped so much stuff for the move......how can something they rated as so important for YEARS be suddenly so inconsequentially discarded...and where the bleedin ell ARE those confused smileys when you need them:rotfl::rotfl:
I will not think about this now :wall::wall:
I will not think about this now :wall::wall:
RIGHT (cue John Cleese)..[STRIKE]this is[/STRIKE] I am getting wound up and silly :wall::wall: .Deep breath......I am going to finish off this assessment tonight and go and be "clever" tomorrow.
I am still a fantabulously gifted human being .......I shall pity (with dignity) the poor suckers tomorrow that clearly don;t recognise it.....;).
And on the bright side.....at least my piggies recognise my talents :rotfl:.
In the words of a certain advert.......My piggies love [STRIKE]dandelions[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]cucumber[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]lettuce[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]carrots[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]cat food[/STRIKE].......ME :T...
.................................and I love my piggies(Wol goes all goooey
:o:o)

Aww Buffy Hun...hope you feel better soon :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:
ATM the ex boss doesn;t know he's made a mistake..... (but he will tomorrow)
Seems to me he opted for the one who was licking his behind at the time (which wasn;t me) . But it grates because periodically over the years I have been highly instrumental in making hisbusiness the success it is today - He clearly values me....but not when it counts.....and I think that is my mistake for not recognising and pressing the opportunity at the right time ....In business there is no room for error.....and I have enough experiene that I should have known better and not ignored the signs...hence I screwed up......
I am off to bed now and will set the alarm early tomorrow to finish off the work before the meeting.
Hugs to you and the girlies Hun..are you also Ok for 31st July?

So, let me get this straight. He employs someone who screws up, and the first person he thinks of to straighten it out is you. And your self-esteem is suffering?
Hate to tell you this, but generically speaking, the Three Stooges were never called upon to save the day, but Wonder Woman was. Does this say anything to you?
It's not how helpful you should be, but how much time you should be spending on it. Only the amount paid for. No freebies.
Did he know you wanted a job and didn't want to be self-employed?
What he said ^^^^^0 -
Yes he did - but clearly he only felt comfortable giving me a job as the cleaner...not as the CEO :mad:
Nice try Z my lovely...:kisses3::A and thankx :kisses2:.....because I really do appreciate your efforts.......but I am not flattered by his actions...and in fact Iam fuming :mad:...and so begins the spiral of self doubt.....
:wall::wall::doh::doh::wall::wall:........:(
But at least this time half of me is "outside" this time, monitoring what is going on...hopefullly I will be able to stop this rapid descent in the next hour
xxx
Sorry about that...I should have read the above first:(:(
Please please don't knock yourself.....it is proved that you are more than capable of the "job" as he wants you to rescue it.
Perhaps this Boss comes under the same heading as toxic mums...in that you have toxic relationships in different parts of life.
Revel in the fact that you are capable of doing that job and he is wrong ...self confidence 100% .
If you feellike it tell him to pee off and pay the correct rate to either you or someone else and if he doesn't walk away....self confidence 100%0 -

You didn't screw up and you making his business what it is today is all the more reason to lay it on the line to him and let him have it both barrels and get your true worth!!!!
Have a good day x0 -
Morning all from a somewhat calmer Wol
Taxi - you are so right - it spilled over dramatically into my work and the people Ive worked with over the years - they were almost always bullies (apart from this one ex boss funnily enough) who also passed my work off as their own and got the credit/pay rises/kudos for it...oooh writing it like that i can deifnitley see now where the similarities are
I am off out to this meetingin a minute...got up early finished the work and went back to bed. However in the process i worked out why i was really getting so wound up last night - it's because said usurper has recently gone self employed and set himself up in direct competition to me and lives local. Today I am going to have to demonstrate what i do, how i do it and hand over documentation and templates that he can copy and start to use as part of his own offering to other companies so in effect I am handing my direct competitor my unique selling point on a plate ....and unfortunately there is no way I can wriggle out of it cos not only are they a competitor but in this particular instance they are also a client.
I have had a similar issue a couple of times before - independent advisers working in my space somehow manage to get their client registered on the programme and get my advice for free but in those cases i was able to minimise the amount of use they could make from the session to feather their own nests..and to be honest they were not in direct competition to me and weren;t local....it was more the principle that I was concerned about....charging their client for work they personally can;t deliver and then getting it done for free (courtesy of the taxpayer) by me via one of these programmes.
Anyhow i now have the glimmerings of a cunning plan for this meeting so that I can limit the potential damage....and with that I need to whoosh
Back later
