The news is good family wise! Results back from op.....

NO CHEMO required :T:T:T. ..i.e. it's now been downgraded :j:j They think they have more or less got the !!!!!! but need to ensure a clean margin ...so more surgery required :(..but not as extensive as anticipated :T..Most importantly Family member is very happy with the news and it is actually much better than their expectations.Long way to go yet as other treatments necessary including radiation - but at least now they can count themselves as eligible to be included in the survivor stastics and make plans for the longer term future

This has been extremely sobering wake up call to me ladies of how you should regularly "cop a feel" and not put off, even for just one week, a visit to your GP if you find/feel something you;re worried about. Family member (mid 40's) was incredibly lucky they spotted it so very early as even though it was so tiny, it was unfortunately found to be an unusually agressive form that meant several nodes had to be removed by the time of the op 4 weeks later.Their prompt action in seeing the GP, coupled with the subsequent rapid response of the NHS, has quite literally saved their life and I had never truly realised the massive implications that even a week's delay can have until now.

So even though we may feel scared, embarassed or worried we might be wasting the doctors time and therefore want to put it off, this really is one thing we just mustn't ever procrastinate over girls...better safe than sorry ;)

Wol sheds tears of relief and send thanks to "Him up There"

That is fantastic news and really proves that we must check ourselves.
  • Good News indeed Wol- one of my BF had cancer and she came through ok- but she was only 39 at the time...I agree with the message to get checked early.

Fabby news on family member Wol.

Sorry to hear that Muffin has a wet bottom - has she been eating something she shouldn't?

Re your insurance - try Hiscox (admittedly not had their home insurance but have various business insurances with them). Er downstairs has had her eviction notice, she's been given 3 months to quit, I still haven't written to the coppers (insert rolleyes smilie). Cowbag friend didnt turn up at the weekend nor yesterday as promised so this time I have resorted to bribing her with a cream cake from Druckers (she has put her order in - it has to be moussey - I'll give her ruddy moussey!), so she is supposed to be coming round on Friday. She is going to be disappointed because I am not getting the bus into Birmingham to go and buy her a cake from Druckers - she should be buying me cake for all the ruddy inconvenience! The cheeky mare dared to ask me if I had tidied up since she last came round - I said yes but to be honest I have stuff piled on the table again and I have to sashay around my very pink suitcase:D She has become a right pernickety old bag since she married this 65 year old chap.

I fly out on 8 March - went to pick up tickets today and take parcel to post office, got as far as the travel agent but as I came out of the shop I got knocked over by an old buzzard on a motorised scooter, he caught me at the back of my legs and I went @rse over tit:mad: he didnt stop he just whizzed off regardless. Am now very bruised, my bum is sore and I have been told that I may have cracked a bit more off my coccyx:mad: parcel is therefore remaining at home until I can get the energy to head off to the local post office this time (sorry Beechie & Co). It feels as though I am sitting on a red hot needle:eek:

I saw the IFA too - he didnt charge me for his time and didnt suggest anything in particular other than pay off the credit cards - I have paid off two, need to psych myself up to pay the 0% balance transfer one...need to move yet more money around. So come the new financial year 5100 will go into the ISA and I swear I wont touch it, I will keep £4K in a savings account that is accessible, £1K will be put in my business account (or maybe I will put £500 in can't make up my mind) and then the remainder will be put away in an account for 5 years where I can't see it and therefore won't be tempted to spend it. Withdrew £100 cash from bank today which will have to last me until the end of March - my GC spends have come from selling some gold and some compo from EON. I shall carry on living the frugal life too.
