My only thought about Edinburgh is it's so hilly, so maybe somewhere a bit flatter might be better if you've got low energy levels at the time.

Have a nice day today Taxi - back to one day at a time, from the sound of it. You'll pick a spot when you're ready, I'm sure.

Similarly with your situation, you didn't ask for it, but you have the good fortune (or good foresight) to have an insurance payout coming. Use it for what it is intended for, ie to make life easier for you financially, but also use it as the beginning of the rest of your life.

I think your plans sound just right x

It is the beginning of the rest of my life as well...like a new start especially once my treatment is over.

    Hi all,
I was having just this conversation last night with a friend who'd come over. We are both at 'junctions' if you like and, for our different reasons, exploring pretty major options in our lives. Now that treatment's done I could look into teaching (pros/cons/full-time / stick with supply / do i still want to? / could i get a job in any event after 18 months out? etc etc). My friend has offered me 2 days a week (office) for September/October in the run-up to their festival so that will get me into working outside the house again and test me faculties :D and will help them as someone's leaving at their busiest time. Really chuffed about that. Our personal income needs a big rethink as tax credits / benefits stop in the Autumn for the eldest.

I decided, yesterday, that i want to do some gardening (never had the time / inclination to make time before). Not a clue where to start, other than I want to make the bit outside my kitchen window nice to look at when i'm washing up :D -North york moors / shady/gets the brunt of northeasterly wind/frosty/rainy - wish me luck:rotfl:.

Health-wise, I've decided to make getting fitter my 'job' - certainly for the next 6 months. Mainly because i refuse to carry on thinking about losing weight / eating healthier having gone through 18 months of treatment = a bit drastic as a motivational tool and i'm not recommending it but we take what we're dealt right?:p. So, i've been mostly organic, 3 meals/2 'snacks' a day since the world cup started and lost 8lb so far. I don't always stick to it but I am aware of what i'm shovelling in these days which is the major breakthrough. Exercise has been walking - walked 10K last week in 110 minutes - soo pleased with myself. Might try running some but am worried about injuring my knees or something...the point is - it feels like I have options - I've stepped off the merry-go-round and I can do what i want... (I really need to get out more - feeling very chatty today:rotfl::rotfl: )

Forgot to mention that I weighed myself and have lost 4lbs since last week

Fantastic - well done! So pleased that your major money worry now revolves around what to spend it on rather than who to give it to - you really do deserve it !

Lenza, I love the sound of that - you're listening to yourself, and thinking things through from the bottom upwards - your life truly can become what you want it to be. Lovely!

Lenza..doing some work for your friend sounds great and will give you chance to see if you are readt yet...

I too am going to be doing exactly the same re health...I now only eat organic and am trying to eat 3 meals 2 snacks but watch portion sizes and when am feeling better will be upping theexercise.

I managed a walk to the corner shop and back again....so pleased with myself.

Yet again have just been pottering about the house today ...am going to see if I can manage a walk to the bank and back tomorrow.

Am going to put going away to the back of my mind until I have my treatment plan.

Hope everyone has had a good day x

Pottering is good, makes a day seem worthwhile without leaving you feeling knackered.

How far is it to the bank?
