That's good that WW have refunded your monthly fee. Every little helps!
Good luck with the spuds - I've got courgettes, tomatoes and lettuces out so far and they are thriving. I bought a butternut squash today so when I cook that, I will plant some of the seeds and hopefully grow some squash as they cost a fortune in the shops but they are one of my faves.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. That's how thick I am ...I never thought to plant the seeds from the stuff itself..I just bin them..lol
My potatoes are in small plasuic pots and are quite tall and leafy ..if I've got it right....when they go in the bin I cover them completely and every time they grow through and get leaves I cover them again...Is that right?...0 -

Taxi I am so pleased that the critical illness cover is giving you some relief to your situation. All the talk about it has got me thinking too as I pay for private health insurance (never used it and you are getting good care via the nhs!!?? So makes me think twice if I should keep this) and I also have life insurance but have ni income protection or critical illness...mmmm
Only problem is the mind field you have to face when looking at critical illness as most only pay out if its terminal or certain cancers etc etc so I then put it off for another day... really must do some serious research into the best companies/policies.
Enjoy your gardening it can be very therapeutic which is one of the things you need at the moment xx0 -

Forgot to say my critical illness one was part of a package and covers everything from heart attack up to transplant surgery.
If this one pays out(there is no reason why it shouldn't) ..I'll have to go through the minefield finding a new policy for DH..I won't be able to get insurance until in remission for 5 years for myself but because ours is joint then once it's paid out that's it gone.0 -
I've never planted spuds, so have no idea! And as for planting from seed, I don't generally do it either - much prefer the hard work to have been done for me and for me just to plant the little plants into a pot! But as the seeds will be free, I will give it a go - nothing to lose!
I have private health insurance via my work, but if I didn't have it, I wouldn't pay for it. I don't have critical illness but am lucky enough in my current job that they will pay my salary indefinitely if I was ill, so that is very good. If I ever changed job (which I hope I don't have to do) then I would have to seriously consider some sort of income protection or critical illness now that I don't have OH to help.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
