Hi can anyone suggest the best deal for good broadband and phones (mobile and landline). Ideally I would like free anytime calls (UK) as well as low charges to mobiles. For broadband it needs to be around 10mb download for internet. I'm currently a Virgin customer (about 6yrs) and get tv, bb, phone and mobiles from them but am fed up with their v poor customer services. I'm going to need to get a landline fitted as we only have the cable one provided by Virgin. Is it best to split the services up or stay packaged?

It depends how far you live from the telephone exchange as you will probably not get the same speeds as Virgin Media. You can get £40 cashback on BT landlines from Quidco etc and could shop around for BB - Orange are offering £100 cashback (18 month contract, £7.50 per month for BB only), o2 £50 cashback (12 month contract but 3 months free). Sky can also offer some good deals but you need to look around before deciding - I am currently looking at VM alternatives and it is sending my head into a spin with all the variables (phoneline, with or without calls, BB, tv or not, before even considering price)!

can you still get a non hd v+ box or does it not make a difference?
My telly is ancient but would still quite like a V+ and thinking of upgrading from all L sized services to all xL, any tips?0 -
I have recently been made redundant I thought paying £20.50 a month for Broadband only was too much (an excellent service though). I asked about a reduction and was told no, so enquired about B/B, TV and Phone packages and was quoted £34 plus £49 (i think) connection charge which they would not waive. Sky are quoting approx the same price for all three with the Sky recorder with free insallation. (I am also considering O2 phone and B/B (I am O2 customer) with just the Basic Sky+, (£30 installation) again about the same price.
Are Virgin call centres now all based abroad?
All thoughts and opinions appreciated.

Don`t get me wrong they did say no. i just done a bit of home work and said a new customer could get a better deal and that they should look after all customers. Still saying no i told them to proceed with 30days notice and maybe i will return for a better deal as a new customer at a later date! I have seen better deals other user have had on here but i`m happy with todays call.
I do like the Virgin package but lets be honest when things go wrong its nightmare!
that said fingers crossed i don`t have any nightmares for next 12months!!!!!0 -
I have virgin media phone and broadband on XL20 mb package.
I noticed their 50 mb was being advertised and phoned up to see how much extra it would cost.
When they calculated the new monthly bill it works out £3 cheaper so I now have 50mb at a lower price then what I was paying for 20 mb!
They did say there was a £20 admin fee which was waived which they said was due to being with them for over 5 years (was with ntl originally)
Might be worth calling them if you are on 20mb at the moment.0 -

To be fair, ive been with them since launch day and never once had any probs with them! So apart from the price, i cant fault their service.0
