Can someone help me with my bill? The guy on the phone gave a figure around £30 a month but the contract (new customer) states:
Telephone line rental £11.99
Phone BBand & Tv M+ Disc £12.50CR
Talk international £1.50
M+ (starter) £5.50
Broadband size:L £25.00
Manned installation charge £40.00
Free install on triple bn £40.00CR
I calculate this to be £31.49, is that correct?
There is no mention of any wireless router in my contract, would that be extra and the phone bband & tv M+ disc £12.50Cr does that last for the whole 12 month contract term?0 -
Hi All,
Take a look at the offer I just posted to hotukdeals for new customers who only want a phone line and broadband. I can't post a link here but just search for Virgin Media.
6 months free broadband (up to 10Mb)
then, £12.50 thereafter
Virgin Media phone line required (£11.99 per month)
Free installation
Total for phone line and broadband for 1 year: £218.88
The current offer via the Virgin website:
3 months for £5
then, £12.50 thereafter
£40 installation
Virgin Media phone line required (£11.99 per month)
Total for phone line and broadband for 1 year: £311.38 (£246.38 with Quidco of £65)
The line rental also includes weekend calls. You also get 5GB of backup storage and 10 free photo prints per month.
For those interested in higher speeds, the leaflet also mentions these offers:
Up to 20Mb £7.50 for 6 months then £20 thereafter (+ line rental). inc 10GB storage & 50 photos
Up to 50Mb £15.50 for 6 months then £28 thereafter (+ line rental) inc unlimited storage & 100 photos0 -

in an ideal world i'd want sky sports but that is too damn pricey
considering getting sky sports on my xbox at 20 a month
if anyone knows a great broadband deal with sky sports on virgin cable then let us know0 -
Can't see any mention here of packages including Talk Anywhere 800, the £29 any call (inc international, 08 and mobiles) phone package. I have basic TV (M?) £25 BB and line rental, with paper bills plus Talk Anywhere 800 and I pay £56 per month. This is about £5 less than before I called them in January threatening to leave. Does it sound good?0

Free Voicemail £0.00
Broadband Size: L £25.00

I rang them this morning and was offered the following
Telephone Line Rental
Talk Unlimited
Free Voicemail
Broadband Size: L
T V Size: L
Free calls to 0845 and 0870
for £46.50.
This is despite the fact that I don't even have the tv box plugged in (don't watch tv at all) and told them i wasn't interested in the box only had it because it made the package cheaper.
Needless to say i gave them my 30 days notice.0 -
Bobjob - i currently have the 800 anywhere minutes and am paying the following, I am now out of contract and will be looking to reduce my month payment with them again
Goodwill Gesture 16 August £-4.50 - this relates to a change they decide to make to the price of my BB an increase of £5 telling me i was now on large BB and that they could not put me back onto the medium package as it no longer existed., after a month of fighting i got them to apply a discount to the account .
Advance charges £54.99
Description Date/period Amount
Telephone Line Rental 30 August - 29 September £11.99
Talk Anywhere 800 30 August - 29 September £29.00
Phone, Bband & TV M Discount 30 August - 29 September £-11.00
Free Voicemail 30 August - 29 September £0.00
TV Size: M 30 August - 29 September £0.00
Broadband Size: L 30 August - 29 September £25.00
Other charges £-1.00
Charges and credits (Provided by Virgin Media Ltd) £-1.00
Description Date/period Amount
E Bill Discount 30 August - 29 September £-1.00
so in effect i think i am right in saying that i pay £50.49 month for the same as you, so i think there is room for you to negotiate with them.
