Oh nice, i just came to join about virgin media and wrote a longgg message out, i go to click send and the website goes white?.

All i have to say is i signed up for e bill so the bill would be lower, now the stinky people have raised the internet bill by £2

So we pay £31.93 for internet and telephone, when people on here get huge net, big tv, and free minutes, calls to mobiles and all for something crazy like £5 :D

Really, virgin media are really  me off so much. I think i'll send a email to them, and no, it wont be a nice one ;)

Emailed them. Lets see if a little man in india replies like before trying to sell me virgin mobile phone

My email wasn't very nice. You can get free sky+, tv, free calls, free broadband and £25 in tesco vouchers all for £16.50 if you join sky online up till 25th june even if line rental is £11, it still would only be £26.50 which is still cheaper then im paying now. rant over with :o

not sure i am too happy with what i pay, how does it match with others?
We have a V+ box we got in Jan for free!:) although they charged us and we had to have credit etc etc

    this is what we have:
    Telephone £11
    Talk unlimited £7.95
    Loyalty discount -£17.25
    Tv XL £23.00
    Broadband £20.00

    Total £42.83

if i drop XL tv to L or M will i loose lots of on demand channels? and also not sure if worth it if i have to pay £5 a month to use the V+ service

Would also like a box upstairs as signal is crap! how much would this cost?

might try and call later, they wont let me cancel because of the new box we got in feb means we now have a verla contract

Well I finaly got around to calling VM and this is what I was offered...

    TV size XL
    10mb BB
Talk evenings and weekends (+ line rental)
    £49 V+ box

All for £44.50 a month - and I managed to get a free wireless router and 12 month internet security package out of them too.

I said I didn't really want to pay more than I was already paying (which is £35.70) so they said I could downgrade the TV size to M+ and then only pay £34.50 a month.

Has anyone ever heard of the M+ TV size before? It's not on their website and I'm not sure whether I'd lose channels that I usually watch (we currently have size L).

Am I getting a good deal?

edit: Lol, I just rang back to ask for a breakdown of the charges and spoke to a different guy who offered me different deals so now I can get the 10mb BB with talk evening and weekends with V+ tv size:
    M+ - £33.95
    L - £38.45
    or XL - £49.45

Ask them to put it in writing, Virgin have a habit of changing the deal afterwards.

Well, the guy said he'd make sure it was recorded on the system but I agree that it would be better in writing.

I think I'll be giving them another call as I've just seen an advert for the Sky+ box - free box and free installation. ;)

we need cheap tv internet and phone. ideally we want free evening and weekend calls, looking at freeview if the arial is in good enough condition.
this should allow us to go with BT and bethere for inet and phone. however looking at virgin to maybe give us a good deal. worth phoning them you think?

What about a VoIP package for the voice calls? The betamax resellers have got extremely cheap deals. And using a VOIP SIP adapter, like the Linksys PAP2, you can plug in a normal landline phone without the need for the PC to be powered-up.

As for Freeview... a high gain antenna like this one for £50 from Televes should be good for fringe signal areas..
