I never tell anyone IRL the names we are considering, as it doesn't matter to me whether they like them or not. Having said that, we called our DD Emily and my parents hated it. I was in hospital for 10 days after I had her, very ill having lost a lot of blood, and my mother was phoning me 2 or 3 times a day telling me how much she hated the name and that I would have to change it. In her defence I can only assume (as she lives in another country) that she just didn't understand how ill I actually was at the time, but it wasn't rocket science to work it out really, as even first time mums aren't kept in for anything like that long, and she was my second, with a young child at home to look after as well so in ordinary circumstances they'd have been discharging me within 24 hours!

he he he. That won't get any easier. The sky lady just had me crawling around on the floor trying to reach behind the tv to unplug the sky box. Good job the curtains were closed, any nosy neighbours would have been in stitches watching me struggle to get down there. getting back up wasn't much easier. In my defence I am nearly 39weeks:o

Just noticed this playmat at argos - M&P Fleur seems a bargain, none in stock near me though :(

I got this for dd3 a few mths ago for this price aswell so it must be on offer often... It is a good one and she seems to like it - the music is good as she kicks it with her feet and sets it of all the time only thing is the mat is not very big as it has the big cusion bits.... havent used it as a surport for learning to sit just yet as she isnt ready yet so cant say if thats helpfull or not.....

We also are not going to be telling people our choice of names as have had some horrible comments about ones we picked - we like Joshua when i was pg with dd1 and bil just kept going on and on about how horrible it was that it put dh of it  lucky we have never needed it as all girls.... will see this time..... have got a idea what the name might be if its a girl as dd3 was a hard dession between Freya and Imogen and we went for Freya so i guess Imogen is in with a chance this time but its to early to talk about names just yet so will see...

I've still not uploaded them (ended up cooking roast beef for 5 today )

I will do it and get them on either later on or tomorrow - no point going to bed early, Jack will want a feed at around 12.30am.

Hoping the next 25 weeks will be enough to convince me it's ok to use :) Plus I actually think it's a boy anyway so maybe we will never have to cross that bridge!

Can I ask what the name was you'd agreed? If she's not nice to you anyway then use it :)

Do you think Tobin is weird? I love Toby but my friends dog was called it, and I feel a bit weird using it (associations and all that) but with Tobin, which is one of the original forms (that and Tobias) I think I can use it then shorten it to Toby?! Ridiculous logic really just to avoid the dog thinking :) OH's family hated that too 'it's too posh' etc, but I love it, bit different but not weird iykwim :/ Starting to doubt myself again!

Sorry, got caught up on Facebook! The name we agreed on was Lucas. It's still a possibility.

    Hello,

I have another scan on the 5th Oct, which should put me at about 12 weeks. We had a scan on the 17th Aug which put me roughly at 5 weeks, then one on monday which put me at 8 and 1/2 weeks. My last period was 6th June, I have never been regular, so getting pregnant was a big shock and surprise, we have been trying for seven years for this to happen. :T

    Jolene

Congratulations Jolene! You must be so over the moon after waiting 7 years! I don't think they can properly date the pregnancy until around 12 weeks. Welcome to the other newbies as well.

Nikkit, so sorry to hear that you ended up in hospital but sending get well soon vibes for you and stay strong vibes for baby.

Gymfiend I love Tobin, there was a character called Tobin in one of my favourite books - The bone dolls twin by Lynn Flewelling.

  • I love all this name talk! I love the name Toby, and Tobin is good too.

Well I woke up early today even though I didn't have to get up early- how annoying. I think I might have been hungry actually as I had tea early last night and it wasn't anything particularly nutritious! Had my brekky now so might as well head into work early, that way I can leave early.

Not a lot to add this morning but just wanted to say hi. Second ante-natal class tonight- it's pain relief so that should be good!
