Can i ask another question:rolleyes::D My OH is rightly encouraging me to do some exercise as i am not working (and therefore not walking to and from work etc) as you guys know already i do walk around the park a couple of times a day (well oh drags me - lol:o) -
what types of exercise do you do please?
You probably do more than me, I get the train/tube to work but that means only walk for about 20 mins a day in total. I do yoga once a week but it's normal yoga not pregnancy yoga so I have to modify and spend a lot of time just relaxing and breathing and I've just started the aquanatal once a week - what prompted me to do that was my sister saying that labour was like running two marathons, she has run one so will know what it's like  I thought I better try and get in shape a bit! But the main exercise I suppose us ladies need to do are our pelvic floor exercises and I hate doing them!Mum to DD born Oct 2009

Bought an excercise ball today as it was pay day, hoping it will help with the back. Just wondering how often people use theirs?
I've had an exercise ball for years and used to use it loads for exercising but haven't really used it in the last year. We just blew it up the other night and realised the plug is missing so as an alternative I've stuck a make up brush in it! Seems to be working for now. It is very comfortable to sit on and I like to sit and wiggle my hips on it which stops them seizing up but after a while I just want to lie down on the couch - my usual evening position!Mum to DD born Oct 2009

Well considering the time, I feel pretty amazing for two reasons- firstly I went to bed at 9pm last night, and whilst I didn't sleep through I did sleep pretty well so I actually feel rested and awake. Secondly it is my last early shift at work, and also my last weekend shift. I cannot wait to get it over with and I just pray that it's not too busy today.
On the exercise front, I try and walk on my days off but at the moment being on the go all day at work is keeping me quite fit I think. When I start ML I'm planning on swimming, aqua-natal and a bit more walking if possible as I really don't want to get even less fit than I am.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Thanks for the welcome ladies
.
BeenieCat - Yes i am having a girl. How are you planning for Christmas? At the moment i am just assuming she will be here. If it gets to a week before and she isn't i guess i'll have to come up with a plan b!!
Jennynoo - glad to hear midwife was worrying over nothing and scan was ok.
Re the car situation, we have a tiny mitsubishi colt and will have to be proved that we can't manage with it before we are prepared to change that. We are looking into getting a roof box for it for going on hols etc as we usually go camping and take the dogs too which could be a bit cosy!! Everyone keeps telling me how much stuff you need to take with you when you have a baby but, and i may be being very naive, i just don't see that you would need that much. I have my portable feeding system (boobs), a changing bag with everything else in and if we are staying somewhere travel cot/moses basket and some clothes. Surely thats it!
My HIP payment came through yesterday :j so i'm off to Tesco in a bit to see whether they have the last few bits i need to get in. The rest is going to pay for the nursery carpet!
Have a good day everyone!0 -
