I can sympathise with the SPD pain, I had it last time and it's supposed to get worse in future pregnancies

It's really weird- I had a week of so of very little pain, but this week, and particularly today, it just seems to have flared up.

It seems busy on here again today, which is nice to see! I'm sure I'll be adding to the post count when I start ML.

That's really interesting Jillie- never heard of all first timers being under consultant care. Just goes to show how different each area is. How's your BP today?

i thought it was strange too. i have just re-checked the page it was printed on. and its all mums, all the big appointments- booking in, 12 week, 20 week scan, etc that are done at the hospital. which to me means consultant care. obv its a diff town to me but same PCT.

it has been busy on here today. :j

i have to stop buying things for baby.
bought bouncy chair and play mat gym before. (from sister really, she will give me the money) and also got some cardigans from ethel austins before that were reduced. DH will have to come to asda with me next week ,so i dont buy loads... :D

forgot to say... BP ok again. only being checked at hospital now as they said the cmw, will see the high rate and send me up, only for it to be lower an hour later. they are ok with this due to the 48 hr monitoring i had over the weekend. and they know, i know all the signs/symptoms of pre-eclampsia etc and to call asap if any concerns.

It is strange how much the different areas vary: I'm shared care due to bmi and thyroid and I've never even met my consultant! Had a few of appointments at the hospital but only ever with a registrar (and only 1 of them was routine: the other 2 were due to being referred for a growth scan).
  • I'm MW and GP shared care according to my notes- not sure if everyone is this or if it's because I have a history of high BP .

Off to sit on my gym ball for a bit and watch Come Dine With Me....I will get this baby to turn!

i saw my consultant at our first appointment, next few times was junior/newbie drs to antenatal care or other drs at the clinic. although they always spoke to the registrar before i could go. saw our consultant on the mon just gone and we should be seeing him next monday as well. (although it maybe the registrar- but he/she will have to speak to the consultant anyway... so i may as well just see the consultant!!)

Congrats to Jacksons mum on Ellis :)

Lil Miss your girl is absolutely beautiful

    Welcome Weezl & Raggydoll

OMG Squishy I misread that bit about the 9th baby, thought it said 9th bday - almost had a heart attack thinking about a 9 year old girl with a 50 second labour!

Ooh Lizziebell what pushchair did you get? My main problem with the Aygo is that it's a 4 seater, and I've quite often got a car full of people as it is so wouldn't be able to go places like I do now so ideally I want a 5 seater. My plan is to buy a Clio, so nothing massive as I don't do big cars :) Also, OH is getting rid of his car to get a lease car through his company which is mega cheap, so trading in both cars means no more car loans, wahoo :)

I've had a nightmare day - one of the bulbs in our Ikea lightfitting blew up recently, taking with it the glass surround. I went in today to ask for a replacement and they point blank said no, so I asked what they were planning to do about it - they had the audacity to suggest I'd smashed it myself (for a laugh?!) and that it was my own tough luck. I was livid, had this baby been around and in there it could've been blinded, there were glass shards everywhere. Anyway had a massive argument with the stupid manager and she wouldn't budge, I actually think I could've punched her I was so angry! On the bright side, I had a look in Mamas and Papas and saw the furniture we like which looked lovely in real life so pleased with that :)

Labour vibes to all who want them - September's been a really busy month so far!xxx

Not sure if this has been mentioned (memory like a sieve) but just spotted the Tommee Tippee breast pump on HUKD is cheap in Tesco.

    Hiya GISI :)

My brother's a GP and the practice he's just started with has a shared care policy, he sees all the PG woman at every other ante-natal visit. He's in Leicester, but his last practice didn't do shared care, so I think maybe it can even vary within a trust IYSWIM

He and I were both a little unsure about it, so I'd be interested how you find it :)
