jenny - I would be inclined to work from home and get the doctor to refer you. Filing will always be there another day in work and you'd probable feel better being close to the hospita if they can fit you in today.

I rang the docs but of course could only speak to a receptionist and she said she would get the doc to call me back so no idea how long that will take. Trying to find out what my fundal height should be but can't find any figure for 34 weeks.

  • Hey all.
A random question for you all. I`ve had a letter from the gyno dept of my choosen hospital saying to come in for a clinical reveiw with my consultant. It also has a massive questionare about all sorts of questions regarding my inner workings etc.
Anyone know what a clinical review is? what it entails? and why do i have a consultant, because Ive never had one before and I dont even know him.

Mountain Lioness, just did a bit more geeky research :)

Possible reasons for contractions to stop

maternal fatigue - can you nap at all? Or even just have a lie-down? I know you're probably too excited/nervous, but could be good to recharge your batteries :)

Maternal dehydration (esp if you havee any pitting oedema- puffy ankles?) can you face a nice big glass of water squash or juice?

Maternal feelings of unsafeness- evidence shows that human women, along with all other mammals (so it works even if you are actually a lioness:rotfl:) will only give birth if everything is right and safe. Is there anyone you need with you, are any jobs undone that you desperately wanted doing before bubs?

I was told by my midwives that they allow you 3 cm leeway either way before they refer you for a scan. Does that help?
  • jenny - just checked my notes and the average line is on 32.5 and the lower line of the grey area is 30. HTH... might be diffierent by PCT though??

Sami posted it a few threads back - it shows your fundal height (the top of your uterus). You can feel the top of you uterus yourself, it's like a ridge (if that makes sense!)

    :Tweezl - what a star!

I am quite tired though I got a much better night's sleep last night than the one before (monitored til midnight!) A nap is a good idea before I go out for my walk... might do my relaxation CD...

Have been quite dehydrated but drinking (water) for england for the last 2 days... will keep it up though as am still feeling thirsty.

I don't think I feel unsafe - have been pretty chilled throughout and am still feeling ok about the birth... maybe a bit frustrated but having the pool up and ready to be used just makes me excited!

Edit: patience is not one of my virtues as you may have noticed!!

  • Hiya,
Congrats to all of you...I hope to be joining you soon!
Just wanted to ask a quick question...Did any of you have any symptoms at around 8DPO?
    I think this is the month I have the best chance of a BFP and today Im having these symptoms;
Adrenalin rush...feel all warm and tingly, especially in arms and chest..has lasted all morning so far
Slight dizziness, like low blood sugar maybe
creamy cm....and lots more than usual
yesterday i had cramps similar to AF but on one side
    bloated

    Has anyone experienced these symptoms?

    Thanks

31 sound fine then! I'm not too worried as everything else was fine. The doc just called and said she would ring the hospital and let me know what they say so I'm staying put for now.
