:T:T:T Welcome back! I remember you well from before your first was born, and always found what you posted very helpful.

My advice though for what its worth would be to notify them in writing, rather than face to face, to keep detailed notes of any conversations you have with them, to leave it until the last possible moment to tell them of the second pregnancy, and to go back, even if just for a short while, between the two births just to keep your face known.

    Hi Nicki, thanks :)

good advice about work. I definately think telling in writing is good, because people need to think through what they're saying:D. Not sure if I can face going back to 3 hr commute in 3rd trimester, but I'll certainly bear it in mind.:o:o

    ps, thanks kindof :)

  • oooh just got my mail: got an envelope from HiPP which has turned out to be a first year record book :) Its quite sweet - you can record weight and daily information, and has a little recipe each month :) Also some little tips or information for each month. A little space for pics, and it comes with wee stickers like 'first bath' and first pair of shoes'. Quite nice for a freebie :D

  • Nothing wrong with having a smaller car :) - as soon as your PG ppl think you have to trade in for some kind of people carrier or w a n k tank, completely unnecessary unless you're having triplets or something! Most of our parents managed with no car or a smaller one but expectations have grown out of all proportion (same for houses - a lot of ppl shared a room or whatever now it's 'essential' to have a 4 bed detached with double garage  or TV isn't enough you have to have the top sky package)

DH's boss bought a Q7 when he had his 1st kid AND a roof box as apparently it wasn't big enough  (he's a t0sser anyway!)

Hooray, thought I was the only one who thought this! One of the first things my friend said when she knew we were trying for a baby was that we'd HAVE to get a bigger car and even DH keeps on about it sometimes, really annoys me! I'm like, well we'll just have to bring less stuff with us and/or make sure we have duplicates at both our parents houses (they each live at least 200 miles away). We always pack too much for ourselves anyway where ever we go so will just have to knock that on the head etc.
Can't be getting a bigger car just now anyway not with fuel prices like they are!

    Good morning all,

Just had a quick catch up as short of time, so apologies if I have missed anything.

    Congrats to Jackson’s Mum!

Lil Miss – beautiful pics. Well done.

Welcome to Raggy and Weezl (I too remember you first time around and saw your news on the Parent Thread and wondered if you would be back to join us!). And good to have another December birth Raggy as this thread will be quiet when all us Sept lot leave!

Squishy – reality hit home to me too since being on Mat Leave. You suddenly have more time to think about the impending birth and time to worry! Getting over it now by just reading as much as I can.

Csh – chips and curry sauce for breakfast!?!? Ha ha. I think you are too late on for cravings and it’s just an excuse!! And where on earth do Chinese take aways open that early!!?

Aless – glad you are feeling a bit better and taking it easy today. It’s good you don’t like phoning in sick, but your health and your baby’s is more important than work so concentrate on getting better!

ML and Csh – good luck if it is the start of something. It must be very frustrating getting false alarms as I imagine you psych yourself up for it and are let down. Fingers crossed for you both.

I am starting to wonder about Helen too. She had only been posting once a week for a while, so wasn’t too concerned but not sure when she was last on. She has a lot on though with school going back and supporting her friend, so hopefully it’s nothing to worry about.

I am just getting ready then off to meet my team from work for lunch. Going for Thai today, yum. Apologies if I have missed anyone/anything. Have a nice day all.

OMG - just spotted Lou's post out of the corner of my eye when just about to post and I thought she was in prison! ha ha. (Apologies to anyone who is in prison!) ;)
  • Just in case anyone else has a 107/Aygo/C1 a Loola fits in the boot as that is what we have got, not tried it with the seat attached yet, but definiately with the seat unit removed.
Quinny Buzz also fits but not as well, apparently though taking the wheels off helps, but I didn't try that. However doesn't leave any space for anything else.....but it does fit!
  • lizzie - i know kids involve a lot of stuff but frankly a lot of ppl seem to go seriously OTT (mind you, I always think that at the airport when ppl have the most humungous suitcases for a week away!) Pack smart and am sure you can get everything in your car :) The only thing that needs some serious thought is the buggy - some of the cool 3 wheelers aren't actually that compact folded. We ended up splashing out on a bugaboo bee, which is v neat folded, and def cheaper than a new car!!

Congrats to u both and Weezl of course ;)

I'm trying to think what I did out of the ordinary before Jack came along - walked around ASDA a bit, booked a dentist appt, walked about a bit more, had a curry on Monday night, chilli tuesday night, mexican chilli chicken Wednesday night (I was so glad I was sick when I was in labour cos that meant it couldn't come out the other end :o) and had just upped my EPO to 2 a night from the Monday and had sex Monday night, Tuesday morning, Tuesday afternoon. Put a towel in the bed and wore a brand new nightie to bed on the Wednesday so was probably sods law that I went that night :rotfl:

Never even got a chance to pump up bouncy ball!!

Oh and my waters just trickled - if I'd been fast asleep I might not have noticed!
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Where does the time go?
  • Thanks Glam!
