  • Aless - I hope so! have started having some v mild ones now but am telling myself they're BHs so I don't get too excited. No sign of waters breaking or a show - but then again some ppl don't get these til v late on. So frustrating not knowing where you are cos there is no 'normal' labour!

Squishy - we're planning a birth AND a pizza delivery!

Raggy - welcome! We're planning a home water birth. pool is set up in sitting room waiting at mo :D

    Morning all,

I'd just bought a new Aygo before finding out we were having a baby, we need to do it!

We have a 107 (the same car!) and I refuse to get rid of it and will not buy another car.
I have checked the maxi cosi seat and base fits in the back and it does so all is well and made sure I bought a pushchair that fits in the boot too. It is such a good wee car for economy/tax/insurance moneywise that I would hate to lose it :o

Lucky mum though - only 50 seconds from waters breaking to delivery! Though it was her 9th baby...

    Edit - welcome raggydoll :)

50 seconds or 50 minutes???? If it was seconds surely it just fell out :rotfl:Mind you after 9 I'd imagine they would just fall out......

Welcome raggydoll, come in and make yourself comfortable.

ML- I had backache and BH's from about 2pm yesterday, by about 10/11pm they were proper contractions in my back. By midnight I was seriously thinking of phoning OH back off his nightshift, and everything just stopped dead!!!! Arrggg! How annoying!
Have woke up today to some wee BH's and a backache, who knows eh? Blinking babies like to toy with us :rotfl:

Welcome raggydoll! I also want to have a water birth (but at birth centre) and plan on using cloth nappies :D. I'm so jealous of all your animals - I grew up in the countryside (horses & chickens, too!) but now live in London so I do miss it a lot.

  • Nothing wrong with having a smaller car :) - as soon as your PG ppl think you have to trade in for some kind of people carrier or w a n k tank, completely unnecessary unless you're having triplets or something! Most of our parents managed with no car or a smaller one but expectations have grown out of all proportion (same for houses - a lot of ppl shared a room or whatever now it's 'essential' to have a 4 bed detached with double garage  or TV isn't enough you have to have the top sky package)

DH's boss bought a Q7 when he had his 1st kid AND a roof box as apparently it wasn't big enough  (he's a t0sser anyway!)

Morning all wow another influx of births very exciting!!

I had my 34wk appointment yesterday all good and I measured at 33cm. Midwife asked about packing my bag ekk need to get a shift on. I'm really starting to ache now when I walk esp my pelvis area, so I'm trying to take it easy at work.

Hubby works in a car share 1hr away from the hos and home and drive one in 4 weeks so im thinking when i get to 37 weeks maybe he should drive in himself, what do you think?

Friends of ours had a baby girl this morning, she was due on saturday and it was her 2nd they had said all the way through it would be early as well.

Again thanks for lovely messages for my friend whose baby died on Saturday at 10 weeks old, it really has bought home to me that I need to cherish my bump more than I do, finally stopped calling baby it and now refer to it as her.

Ohh i have a tiny car MX5 but decided not to sell because I love it sooo much my small pleasure, quinny buzz fits in fine and so does the car seat. Hubby has abigger car which often sits unused whilst he is at work can use that if I need to, and I'll defo be having my shopping delivered. I just want to scream at people who say "your have to sell that car" argg butt out!!

  • csh - sounds exactly like mine... really strong through the evening then dead in the morning.

I wonder how long this pattern can go on before 'real labour'? Am hoping it's days not weeks?

Good morning ladies and bumps :hello:

Please may I join in too?

I had a scan on weds and confirmed my edd as 01/04/09.

I had my first baby 6 months ago, at home.

I post quite regularly on the parents club thread for tips on my son, but will also try to keep up with all your news!

Topics of interest to me at the moment:

Double buggies-the good the bad and the ugly :)

How to have a homebirth (fingers crossed) with a 1 year old in the house

Telling work my 2 maternity leave periods will effectively be back-to-back without them wanting to sack me :rotfl::o

so if anyone has any tips on any of the above, I'd be v grateful :)

    love Weezl xxx

That sounds so good to me - I wonder if the hospital would allow a pizza delivery? :p
