Here comes Beenie to update and tidy the list up
I considered doing it this morning to add on JM's birth but I know how much Bennie likes to do it lol

Hah! It's cos i'm such a scruffy mare in general life so i feel better if i tidy the list on here, it makes up for not washing the pots imo. Lol! :o

This is soooooooooooooooo gross :rotfl: I do love chips and curry though, but i struggle to eat anything at all in a morning. I did have muffins with bacon egg and mushrooms today though, feels weird being so full at this time of day :D

welcome weezl! I'm sure you know some of the ladies on the Parents Thread have had home births with young ones at home...I think tara did, but not sure how young her next youngest was (but she has 6!).

ml - I like how you think. Hubby's fav story is ordering pizza while in hospital recovering from appendix surgery (much to nurses' dismay) so I don't think I will try and get away with that in the birth centre, hehe! Though since you're at home, it would make a great story for her when she's older!!

thank you:A, I will indeedy ask tara and redmel :)
Will a walk help speed things along?

yep:) you could also try a little bouncing on a swiss ball/mini trampette if you have one. Doing lunges is meant to be good, and if progressing slowly on land try water, if slow in water, try land (midwife adage!).

warm flannel nipple stim. with the heel of your hand, one side at a time only- two can cause fetal distress...

will post more as I remember them!

How long have you been contracting for, what's the time from the start of the first to the start of the second?

    good luck;) xxx

  • hey weezl - started having 'tightenings' 3 days ago - started being regular day before yday on 2nd spell of monitoring (evening) then more so yesterday PM... yesterday it was about 10 mins between and each contraction went on for most of that time so not much relief!

Have just started up again, milder though... am going to try to start timing them again but the pattern seems to be that at the start it's difficult to tell the difference between contractions as the feeling of tightness and discomfort is almost continual...

Good morning ladies and bumps :hello:

Please may I join in too?

I had a scan on weds and confirmed my edd as 01/04/09.

I had my first baby 6 months ago, at home.

I post quite regularly on the parents club thread for tips on my son, but will also try to keep up with all your news!

Topics of interest to me at the moment:

Double buggies-the good the bad and the ugly :)

How to have a homebirth (fingers crossed) with a 1 year old in the house

Telling work my 2 maternity leave periods will effectively be back-to-back without them wanting to sack me :rotfl::o

so if anyone has any tips on any of the above, I'd be v grateful :)

    love Weezl xxx

:T:T:T Welcome back! I remember you well from before your first was born, and always found what you posted very helpful.

I had my first two back to back as well (13 months and 1 week between them), and was still on maternity leave when I discovered I was pregnant with number 2. I ended up only going back for a couple of months between the two births, as I wanted to have a decent amount of time off after the birth of the second.

I have to confess when I told work it didn't go down at all well, and they did try to sack me. However they backed down immediately with a well worded lawyers letter, and it was all put down to a "misunderstanding" between us. Their maternity policy was quite generous though, with large cash bonuses being paid out depending on length of service, so I think they just baulked at having to pay out twice in quick succession, without getting anything useful from me in between!

My advice though for what its worth would be to notify them in writing, rather than face to face, to keep detailed notes of any conversations you have with them, to leave it until the last possible moment to tell them of the second pregnancy, and to go back, even if just for a short while, between the two births just to keep your face known.

By the way, I assume you mean your edd is 01.04.10 as 1 April 09 has been and gone! An April Fool's baby!!!! Bet he or she is a practical joker when they arrive.
