  • Hey,

Just got back from mums. Went for sunday lunch and met up with eldest bro, his wife and 6 month old. MUm and dad had found all our childhood story books so we dividy them up.

Fitzio, your list looks suspiciously like the contents of my bag. I'm using the one listed on the Cow & Gate website. I was going to take in small cartons of juice, cereal bars and bananas to snack on. I hadn't thought about cold RLT.

Are you taking calcium for pain relief like Glam? I need to pack some of those.

Oooh, poor you JHA. I had really sore boobs to begin with but it eased off after a few weeks.

Not even going to ask how you found out that the cotton wool works.

Anyone know if you can get canesten on prescription?:o TIA xx

ml - glad to hear you're still doing okay! Was thinking we hadn't heard from you in a while, too, but the others beat me to it. Maybe the anti-social thing is a sign things are getting close? Maybe one of the non-first timers can help there :).

Been a busy day and only just got home to relax an hour ago! Well, it was only church & shopping (Lidl + ASDA) but felt like it took all afternoon to accomplish. Think we might finally head to the car boot sale next week or possibly the one after...would go more often/earlier, but involves missing church so that's why we haven't done it yet. Also hoping for things to turn up on Freecycle so's don't have to buy them! ;)

It's not for months yet, but I'm already apprehensive about packing hospital bag(s). Just seems like there's a ridiculous amount of stuff to take for like 24 hours of time, no?

Healthy baby vibes to little Jack! Hope to hear from WM soon...hope she's recovering okay and her little bubba is doing well.

Harley it was my auntie actually - in her 80's with over 40 years of midwife experience:D They used to use cotton wool loads for sore boobs and instead of maternity towels - she says they folded it on a bit like a nappy - that is something i dont want to ask about - yuk

She was also telling me how good rasberry leaf tea was and evening primrose oil so i am going to follow glam's eviction plan

There is a ridiculous amount but I think we are all packing for 'just in case' we have to stay in for longer. Personally I am hoping to stay in for 2/3 days but my circumstances are different from most. (However, if they stick me on the ward with a load of other women I'll be out in the blink of an eye, ML is not the only one feeling anti-social).

I think a lot of it is because most of us don't know what to expect. Sami said she packed much less and she had done it before so knew what she was likely to need.

I'm already on the RLT, it is gross. But the vimto really does make it slightly better. Only slightly mind, so don't go making too big a cup until you know if you like it or not. It does seem to increase the movements or BH (still can't quite work out which it is) but I'm hoping that is a sign that it is working.

In fact, must be about time for another cup - supposed to be on 3 a day this week but keep forgetting and don't think I have managed full quota yet this week:rolleyes:

i was wondering what it tasted like?
  • I'm packing less because we live about 10 mins away from the hospital and I'm going to have a spare bag packed for me and baby at home ready, so if we end up staying in longer I can send OH home to pick them up without worrying he won't be able to find things and he'll get back quicker.
I'm not bothering with a going home outfit for baby, just packing enough sleepsuits and a blanket and hat to cover this. What's the point? It will probably only get messed up anyway and be fiddly to get on.

I actually quite like it, but I like herbal and fruit teas generally. Is anyone drinking fennel for milk supply, not sure when to start this?
