  • Oh my god, 2 hours and no posts to catch up on?! What's going on!!

Just been to take OH to work as borrowed sister's car. Was going to get up at 2am to go pick him up too to save on taxi fares but I'm just thinking to myself that I'm pregnant and really I should just concentrate on resting when I need to instead of worrying about a one off taxi for a tenner or so.

SJ I am exactly like you about taxis, I always think well Im not drinking so ill drive and get DH but end up getting so tired by the time I need to pick him up that I wish I hadnt offered!!

Cant believe how quiet its been today either, I bet when Im back at work next week it will be real busy again and take ages for me to catch up, lol!!

Just sitting thinking about my scan and booking appointment and wondering if much has changed in 10 yrs.

Lets see when i went before it was sit and wait for scan for an hr(fun with a full bladder lol) then get the scan with a snotty scanner that flashed the screen for two seconds and the baby was a blur. Was made to feel like an alien for wanting a pic.
Then another hr with a square bum waiting on MW who asked a load of questions that were in my files already. Then (shudder)she stabbed me with a needle several times and drained me of a couple of pints of blood(ok only a wee drop). asked if i had questions answered one then put me out more confused.

Is it still the same lol

  • Can't really comment on what it used to be like 3 but my booking appointment was great, midwife and student midwife were lovely, took a real interest in me and OH and seemed genuinely interested in answering questions and things.

Scan was good too, sonographer was friendly, let us see the screen, gave us photos for free, so god reviews all round from me!

Gosh I feel like I just mystery shopped them! :rotfl:
  • Actually, speaking of MW appointments, I think I forgot to update after my last one this week. I asked about having ahomebirth and the MW was really up for it!! :j:T

She was just covering for my usual MW but sure it'll be fine when I see her again. This one said she loved HB's and had been to lots. Written in my notes now that I'mplanning on HB so feels a bit more real!

That's good, hope it all works well for you and your MW is onside when you see her next.

I really hope things have improved as my feelings towards the medical world at the moment are not very high and i just don't need more things to get me down.

    Hi again

Been through all Christmas cookery books & just made myself hungry! :rotfl:
Three2be - before I had toddler it was 15 years since last child - loads had changed except waiting around for appts. Technology's better, so watching scan screen was amazing, couldn't believe what detail I could see.
We are car-less for a month until our new one arrives. Buying new one under scrappage scheme - old one's road tax ran out end of August, MOT few days later, so we got rid of it early to the car dealer - not worth £200+ for a few weeks' use. So...now using bus/Shanks pony for next month - really fun with a toddler who loves buses & trains, not so much fun when I have to carry loads of shopping (or do without), esp as I've only 6 weeks to go!
Going to have a baking day tomorrow - sis might pop in - took her son to uni today & she's missing him already, think she needs to take her mind off it!
Getting hungry, but can't eat at this time of night, so I'm off to bed now - taking new stitching mag with me - some work I did is in it this issue! :D
Night night - will make the effort to visit regularly now, need to get to know you all again! Hope you all have a good night's kip, hugs & kisses to whoever needs them.
    A xo

  • I hope your MW is lovely 3, you deserve it after all the trouble you are having recently.

    Night booboo.

I don't think I've felt Tic Tac move yet. I hope I do soon! Coming up to 17 weeks now so shouldn't be too far off. I can't wait!!

I'm getting paranoid about how far along i am as i swear i've been having movements. Not massive kicks but can feel somethings that i couldn't before until i was 4mths plus, hope it is just my body that is sensitive this time lol (oh god sound like a right nut lol)

  • Well I'm off to bed too. Think I might leave the horlicks for tonight after all. It's not that long since I had a big glass of water as I realised I'd hardly drunk anything all day and was really thirsty, but if I have more to drink now I'll be up and down to the loo all night and that's not quite the nice night's sleep I had planned!

I'll try it tomorrow instead as I always sleep badly on a Sunday with the dread of going back into work!
