SJ - lucky you with the glider!! Anytime something remotely interesting gets offered on my Freecycle, I never seem to get it - have missed loads of Moses baskets and baby clothes this way
.
I was fairly producting today in that the spare room (soon-to-be nursery) no longer looks like a tip, the kitchen is clean and I made bagels. Have also planned out a new experimental monthly shop to try and save some cash (with weekly top-ups for things like milk & fruit/veg ONLY). I hope it works! Was thinking of going tonight, but our ASDA is really terrible about keeping shelves stocked in the evenings & since it's a big monthly shop, it's even MORE important I get everything on the list, so we'll prolly go tomorrow even though I HATE going on Sundays - and this way I can see if I can get anything cheaper from Lidl next door.top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
would like to win a holiday, please!!

Well done on getting the glider chair SJ (and very nice of Gymfiend to leave it for you!).
I was out for lunch again today with another friend. Went to Pizza Hut (didn't go for pizza yesterday - ended up going Japanese!), which was nice. Then I went to Boots and bought a few bits and pieces. They have 500ml Johnsons products for £2 and half price Huggies wipes.
I also bought some Lansinoh nipple cream and hand cream for my hospital bag. Packed my bags last night so the only thing I still have to get are nursing bras (will try and make appointment to be fitted during the week). Will post a list of what I have packed and welcome suggestions of anything I have forgotten/need.
DH has blown my up my gym ball, so going to try and find out what I am actually meant to do with it!0 -

Well done on the glider, SJ. They are fabulous and you'll love it. What a find.
Just come back from a walk to the local tescos to pick up my kushies and nappy bin. On the way there I had cramp in my side and the way back junior had moved and was lying on a nerve that ran down my left buttock:mad: OH and I ended up walking back slower than the tortoise.
Shattered now. Sitting with my feet up. Fingers look really swollen, dread to think what state my feet are in!

Hope everyone else is having nice saturdays, quiet evening in for us
I am, so far, though a quiet one. Had a long lie in this morning, then went out for lunch with OH and the kids. Then OH took me back home for another rest (still feeling really tired) and he took the kids off to the supermarket and did the grocery shopping. When they got home, I helped DS with his homework, then he nipped out to the corner shop and bought us all icecream! And now I am planning to get on the sofa again and read my book for a while...
Got a nice email from some friends last night with a long list of baby stuff they no longer need, offering us any of it we want. I thought we had bought everything we would need, but they do have lots of baby toys, plus extra nappies (you can probably never have too many of these I expect) and a baby sling, which would be useful to have.
19 days maximum left, and counting...0 -
SJ - That glider sounds excellent, Im v jealous!! Currently the only chair I have is a wicker one from ikea but until I get all the furniture up and in place, Im not sure what room I will have in the nursery.
Well tomorrow afternoon we have our tour of the maternity unit. We are going with my friend from work and her husband as they are due the same time as us, planning on having a carvery on the way home with them too, hehe!! Any ideas how long these tours are likely to take, is half hour about right?

Ours took about an hour but:
a, they were disorganised
b, we had a birth centre and a labour ward to see
So maybe allow about 45 mins. People also ask questions, might want to ask if parking is free for you, where you go when you arrive etc.

Well, very happy with my chair however very bad news on the car front - head gasket has gone
This is in the same week that my brakes went and I've still got to pay for that. Luckily I don't have to pay it all at once and they are going to keep it in while we are on honeymoon and just have it ready for when we get back but it's such bad timing. OH is having 3 weeks off work and as he's self employed that's 3 weeks without any money coming in
It's going to cost £800 or so altogether (that's with a hefty discount) and we just don;t have that kind of money spare. We have asked for cash for wedding presents to pay off our honeymoon which we paid for on credit card and it's such a shame that the wedding presents are now going to be spent on the car, we'll still have to find some cash to pay the rest of the bill, and we'll still have the honeymoon money on the cards and not paid off liked we'd hoped.
Sorry for the long moan, I'm just really gutted. I was so happy and excited earlier too :(0 -
Hi all
Been a long day - toddler woke up not long after 6 am, went to shops for 9, work at 10.30, to DH's work to help sort out PC after lunch & not even done any ironing or 101 other things I was supposed to do!
Tonight's going to be nice & quiet - toddler going to bed soon, got a small bottle of pear cider chilling in fridge, plus a bar of chocolate for later.Have some magazine stitching to do & got some Christmas cookery books from the library to peruse - yummy! :rotfl:
Going to start packing hospital bags tomorrow, even tho there's 6 weeks to go - last baby was 2 weeks 'early', so don't want to be caught out again! :rotfl:
Going to finish oddments in freezer this week, so I can do some batch baking/cooking next weekend to have some easy meals to hand.
Footie nearly done, so off to calm down toddler & get him to bed - will pop back later. Hope everyon'e Saturdays went well, many congrats to the new mums & hope everyone else's bumps/aches are OK!

Hi everyone,
Xmas - really sorry to hear about your friend, I hope she makes a speedy recovery.
3 - Sending hugs your way, I do hope they can do something for your sister soon.
Sarah Joanne - Sorry to hear about your car, I really hate how cars can really bring you down with expensive problems just when you don't need them. But congrats on your glider. Last time I was pregnant, I found one in our local charity shop and DH bought it for me for my birthday pressie - it's fab! It's my birthday tomorrow again (gosh, don't they come round fast?), but I don't think I've got another glider hidden anywhere!Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky'

evening all, wow it's so quiet without Glam. Is everyone busy trying to evict their bumps?
Boring day for me today took DS to a party and got him back like a drowned rat with all the rain they got caught out in. Went to see sis and i thought that last night had helped but when she left the room mum told me she had attacked them both this morning and was blaming them for everything. She was so calm when i was in the house but mum called to say she was petrified i got her locked up and flipped out again when i left. They are trying to get a doc to change her meds in the hope it may help.
Waiting on spagetti for dinner. considering making some flatbread to go with it.
Need to make something with pears as i bought to many so thinking of caramel upside down cake or similar, who knows what it will end up as lol[STRIKE]Little bump 3 on it's way[/STRIKE]:j
