Used to be a resident a few years ago hence the friends and family there but I live way out now, so no card for me. When I rang today was told it was only £4.70 anyhoo, hope thats right. Like the idea of a swim first too :D Now I hope I still fit in my cosie, from what I remember its got a fair bit of give in it so should do me for a while yet :D

Do you need to book? The Westcroft is actually the second nearest aquanatal class I can find to me so just go to work out which is easiest to get to. Does it have car parking?

They only get you to pant to stop you pushing, so not used very often

Jimmy's is one of the best hospitals in the uk :D My sis used to work there(not in maternity)
Your cakes are fab!! can I ask on the bee ones what is the hive made from? it looks like meringue to me but I'm thinking it could be buttercream too.
I'm thinking of making the cake for my latest's Christening, gonna practice my baby in playdoh first - should be fun lol (I'm soo not artisticly talented!!)

Have you seen the cake pic posted on the parent thread? http://www.hollyfordcakes.com/all-cake-images/babyshower.jpg

    Thanks Helen and Sami!

I hadn't seen that cake but it's amazing!! Really good!! I'll remember that for when one of my friend's has a baby and I'll totally copy it!!

The bee ones are fondant icing bees on top of yellow buttercream!

Helen, I did start a course but I actually left halfway through as it just wasn't what I wanted - it was all really traditional style stuff that nobody really wants so much these days and I don;t really want to make. Almost all royal icing stuff and I didn't feel it was helping me. So I'm pretty much self taught!

Not had time to get on much the last couple of days so doing a brief catch up but won;t be able to get through all I have missed!!

Gym - glad ur scan went OK. Was it your 12 week scan?

My nursery is a safari theme - just attached my spare mobile to the end of the changing unit to keep him occupied while I change him but get a feeling it might just annoy the hell out of me!

No, it was an extra one :o I had my 12 week last week, but saw a midwife yesterday who panicked me after not finding the heartbeat amongst other things, so managed to sneak in and see a family friend at the hospital first thing so he could check all was ok and do the nuchal fold measuring for me :D

Oh no nikkit, can you keep juice down? Maybe some fresh orange? & toast is always good if you feel carp...or chocolate if you don't feel sicky :)

Glam safari theme sounds fab, just what I'm wanting. Have been having a nose around online to find bits and pieces to earmark for when we go and shop - spotted this snugglesuit and love it!

Thank god I live in the North!

Nikkit - cut up half a lemon and add it to some boiling water, leave it a few minutes and really mash the lemon up so you get lemony water. Add a big glug of honey - heaven!

Ooh on a happy note, went to Ikea today and bought the most lovely little baby quilt, it's called a Fabler something or other, it's a sweet printed baby blue on one side and the other is like a patchwork, it's gorgeous and only £9.99 - I was so close to buying one from M&Ps for £40 so glad I didn't now as this one is gorgeous.

    xxx

I think I know the one you mean, it is nice.

I thought they didn't recommend duvets for babies until they are 1, just blankets, sheets or sleep sacks as they get too hot?

    Hi Guys

I found out this morning that I'm pregnant! :j

Been trying for a year and were 3 days off our first infertility clinic session so was something of a surprise!

My first (of many!) questions to you knowledgable ladies is how big will I be mid-December? A due date predictor is giving late April as the date, though I always had irregular periods so this may be slightly out. So I guess by then I'll be about 20 weeks.

I only ask as this is when OH & I are getting married! And I've already bought my dress :o

By coincidence am going to the dress shop tomorrow so will talk to them about possible ways to take it out a bit... I'm sure I won't be the first blossoming b2b!

Will add myself to the due date list after first scan when everything is a bit more certain, in the meantime will be reading as much of this thread as I can to get uptodate with the stories...

    Apologies for long first post!

Congratulations!! You sound just like me!! We had been trying for 16ish months before we got our BFP and I am now 16 weeks and getting married a week on Saturday - and I bought my dress in February!!

Luckily I'd bought one that laces up at the back rather than being a zip or buttons so will just about manage to get in it (albeit with a slight alteration done by myself)! And I am getting reasonably big now, starting to grow out of my clothes etc.
  • eve ladies,,,

  • All this talk of Aqua Natal has prompted to find a class. Just found one on a Monday at 6pm which is a much better time for me, but then I realised I have Parent Craft for the next three mondays. I wish I could find a daytime class that I could do when I'm on ML.
