jenny - I found some at Crystal Palace (the sports centre), I believe...the other only one remotely close was Camberwell, but as I have a decently convenient bus to CP from my house, that's the one I remember. Also, I think they're only during term time so are on break at the moment.

Jenny - Hope you don't mind me butting in but I go to aquanatal on a Thursday evening in Carshalton - possibly a bit far but half the London boroughs leisure centres are run by the above bods so perhaps this link might help?

I find if you work in a job 5 days out of 7 rather than Mon-Fri, and therefore have interchangable days off, its very difficult to get paid time off for weekday appointments. Most employers in this type of situation will require you to schedule days off to fit in with your appointments rather than let you trot off during your working day. Something to bear in mind for those that do shop work etc
I'm like this, although it can be a bit tiring to constantly have to go to appointments on your day off. I organised my own rota so I do sometimes leave an hour early to get to appointments- usually with the MW as she is only at my surgery on a day that I generally have to be at work. To be honest I generally need to make up the time at some other point just due to volume of work at the moment, although my employer has never actually asked me to.
EA-Yay on your house- it sounds fab. How exciting to think that is where you will bring up your little baby!
Always- I agree with others that they are very unlikely to sack you (unless the big mistake could be classed as gross misconduct) but are much more likely to give you some kind of formal warning or something, which would have no effect on your ML.
Considering my lack of sleep last night I feel pretty spritely today. Off to nurse in a minute, then for a mystery shop which I am very excited about as I am starving!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -

I wear a tankini - although the top bit does ride up a bit now!! I was wearing a bikini at the weekend and it's a lot more comfortable for swimming in and there a definitely a couple of ladies at aquanatal who I've seen in bikinis. I'd say as long as the top part will hold up, you'll be fine. One of the lovely things about the aquanatal I go to is, apart from the socialising!!!, is there are so many shapes and sizes there is no need to feel self conscious at all, besides its obviously mainly underwater anyway!0
