I told my dentist I was pregnant so didn't have an x-ray but did have anaesthetic and a filling.

Kent - we bought the Angelsounds one from Amazon here. We have found it excellent and I know other people on here have used it and liked it. I would be wary at 10 weeks though in case you don't find anything and scare yourself! I heard the heartbeat at my 16 week appointment and got the doppler a few days later. I knew what I was listening for so it made it so much easier. You can hear the placenta and your own heart and kicks etc so makes it easier if you know what you are looking for.0

Hi everyone, Could I ask a really quick question?
Is it safe to have fillings or anaesthetic when you're pregnant?
My dentist is a bit of a numpty and x-rayed me when I was first pregnant (I didn't know you weren't supposed to have them), so I don't want him to tell me I can have fillings or anaesthetic if I'm not supposed to...
LittleBit, I had a part root canal when i was about 4 months pregnant. So both anaesthetic and fillings involved. Thye may prefer to leave things until after birth, but if you are in need they will do it.0 -
Sounds like you have all been busy like me!
Mum came around and we went through everything I'm putting in my hospital bag, made up the moses basket and pram with all the blankets and covered both to prevent dust getting in. She then fixed by bouncy chair (got it off freecycle but it had no harness) only realised when I washed it last week! Need to get another set of reins though as I forgot I'll need one for the pram and one for the highchair at the same time.
Lastly, I went through all the clothes I had been given on freecycle and she said not to worry i could clothe an entire street if I needed to with all that lot.
Just had lunch then I need to pop to the needlework shop to get more red thread for the height chart. Might check out the charity shop down the road, too.
Also, phoned up PR for the washing machine we have ordered and it's coming on Friday. Let's hope it appears before 4pm when we need to be at a wedding!
Phew, what a morning.

i wondered as well bout leaving it too late... thought i'll just get hubby to measure me and see how that goes.. lol!!! can just picture him now in mothercare asking..... i guess if need be we can go to the store and buy when we have had baby. not ideal as really need one bra to use straight away.
right i need to wash all our baby things, have you used your drier or washing line??
I used the clothes airer in the conservatory for all my baby clothes - right now it's hammering it down. I didn't use the drier cos a.) I didn't wanna shrink anything and b.) our conservatory is like a little oven even when it's raining. Just put a load of 6-12 months clothes on that I got from Freecycle the other day.
LittleBit - I would post a thread on the health board and I'm sure Toothsmith will answer your question. He's a dentist and very knowledgeable.
Kent - I had the Summer one that they sell in Argos and personally thought it was crap. Couldn't hear a thing.
Now, I think they are more hassle than they are worth - i.e. worrying about not hearing anything!
Just sold it on ebay and wouldn't buy another one in next pregnancy.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

I think most places recommend you buy your nursing bras from 36 weeks, and the midwife mentioned this again today to us (said from around 36 weeks your breasts are as full as they will probably get), so I am sure you would be fine to get it just now.
Even buy 1 cheapish one just now and if you carry on with breastfeeding, you can get a few after the birth? I am definitely going to get measured this week as I don't want to leave it too late, and I can't just get one in my size in somewhere like Tesco!0 -

thanks for that, maybe I will leave it a few more weeks then because I know if I order one I will want to use it straight away, and like you say will have a panic if I don't hear anything, just getting impatient I suppose haven't got my scan till the 25th sep which will make me nearly 14 weeks !! :mad:0 -
boots have huggies wipes at 1/2 price £1.22 in my local store. checked my stash of coupons and i had one for £1 off huggies wipes so i got a few packs and used my £1 voucher to make it even cheaper.
