    Hi all

For those having a home birth - my pack just arrived. I'm sure they are all different but here is what it contains (roughly):

    Gloves
    Wipes
Maternity mats (like those Sami mentioned and I have some of upstairs!)
    Nappies/wipes
Emergency box for if the cord prolapses
Knitting needle to break waters (I assume - not a knitting needle but you know what I mean)
Needles/bits to sew me up if needed
Jab to speed up placenta if I want it
Vit K jab for little one
    Infant resuscitation kit
    Plastic speculum (nice)
Paper trays and bits for placenta I assume
    Plastic sheets
    Various bags/tubes
Mask for G&A (but midwife will bring cannister when she comes)
    Clamps and scisors for cord
    Sharps box
Some literature for me (aftercare etc).

My pool also arrived this am (am 37 weeks today so its all happening).

Expected it to make me feel scared but I just a bit excited (I think!!)

    HTH somebody! xxx
My baby girl :kisses3: September 09 :heartsmil

Nancmat - found this calculator which might help with maternity pay - the only thing I can't get it to do is put in the actual weeks when you start maternity leave only from the earliest you can start maternity leave (for me this is 13 Sept even though I am not starting until later) but it should give you an indication, just shunt the dates forward for when you are starting your leave for when you might get what. I put in a random figure of £500 for normal weekly pay and it gives this £450.00 per week 13 Sep 2009 to 24 Oct 2009, £123.06 per week 25 Oct 2009 to 12 Jun 2010

You know when you make a reeeeeeeeeeeeally nice cup of tea, and you can't seem to make the next one as nice?

I dropped my choc muffin in the first one, and didn't manage to recreate it the next time.

    So sad.
