Just a quickie as parents here to let you know still here, no sudden arrivals!

Really pleased you've found a surgery who is more helpful 32B. It really did sound like your first surgery wasn't going to budge for you, and clearly they have a policy of not seeing pg ladies until much later on.

Having a mare still with DD situation, and spent much of the day on the phone to lawyers. Some of the detail which has been disclosed has been hairraising and very upsetting to hear. Hope it can all be sorted for her, but very stressful in the interim.

In the meantime my hands and feet, which have been swollen for months now, really really hurt. I can barely put weight on one foot, and can't unlock doors, hold pen, turn doorknobs etc with either hand. I had an antenatal appt on Tuesday and BP was only 115/59 so fairly sure not pre-eclampsia. Anyone got this, or got any tips for making it feel better? I did try asking pharmacist in Boots but got the brush off as she was dealing with a line of heroin addicts in for their 5pm methadone fix, and she just said "you can't take anything if you're pregnant" without any practical advice as to what might help on a non-drug related front!

    Hi,

I'm 16 weeks and some days right now, I've been lurking for a little while - but I wanted to introduce myself. I'm 26 and have hypermobility syndrome (HMS) - that gave me wonky hips before the pregnancy. So I'm having a fun time working out which bits of me are turning to jelly recently. I've got a lot of fun things like SS assesments to look forward to on top of all the medical stuff - and everyone thinks I'm crazy because I want a homebirth if I possibly can. I've got a stack of real nappies from freecycle ('you're going to regret that!) and I shockingly want to try to breast feed ('nobody does it'). I daren't mention I want to co-sleep, they'd go crazy - and I've accepted a cot from someone already. That just gives me extra choice though. However for a mum-to-be who might not be able to pick the baby up out of a cot and put them back it might just be more sensible - with all the proper precautions anyway, no duvet ect.

I've got asthma (can't remember who asked) and I've found it's got worse recently. I used to be able to forget my preventor without too much of a problem - but if I do now then I get wheezy and cough a lot, could it be an inflamation thing? I've noticed I have a permanently stuffy nose too.

Helen81 - are you going to complain that's really bad practice!

When I saw a GP (I was unplanned and on meds for the HMS so wanted advice NOW!!! I didn't care who) he kept asking me if I wanted an abortion  wouldn't shut up about certain medical stuff I have going on and refused to refer me to phisio or my rhumy about the pregnancy. So I rang the hospital myself (they arn't supposed to be self-refferals, but they know my condition) and was seen really quickly - but some GP's are beyond naff.

  • Hey all,
I`ve just been on the phone to my friend for an hour with her crying down the phone the whole time. She has a gorgous little boy of 4 months and she is really struggling on her own. We used to be really really close but we drifted apart a little when I moved away last year but for the last 6 months we've been renewing our friendship etc etc and realising just how much we love each other.
She admitted to me that she has been sleeping around most nights for the last fortnight just to feel loved and close to someone, which is really worrying me as she isnt like that usually. I have already resolved to visit her more often as now my benifits have been sorted out and I have quit smoking I have the extra pennys to treat myself each week and a trip to see her is as great for me as it is for her. I was wondering though if anyone had any ideas of other ways I could support her? or maybe organisations I could sent her in the direction of?
Gosh today is all confusing and crisis, hope tomo is easier.

Oh and EA i'm only in Havant so maybe you can hide out with me from fly related emergancys. I told my OH we had to move house last month because there was a huge spider in the bath, I say in the bath I meen having a bath, and reading a newspaper!!!

Hope I won't get the midwife who denied me to opportunity to have baby with general anaesthetic, she didn't have much of a sense of humour, lol

My mum had my brother in Los Angeles in the late 60's and she says this is how he was born. No c-section just an injection and then woke-up with baby in her arms:eek: She said it was great! She did have to have a blood transfusion but they made my Dad and his mates go and donate some of theirs before she was allowed to have it!

Had my MW home visit this afternoon but she rang and asked if she could come early which made me panic a bit as I'd just been the loo and didn't think I'd be able to produce a urine sample. Started drinking water furiously but really had to to concentrate hard to be able to manage enough for her to take the test. It was clear of sugar this time so she said they would keep an eye on it but may be have to send me later for GTT. So a reprieve for now thank goodness.

Oh re: the 'H' thing - I had a flair up just before I got pregnant but before that I'd only had two: one 7 yrs ago and one much longer ago than that. I hadn't put two and two together that that is what it was so I didn't even give it a second thought when I had DD. I would guess that there might be a possiblity that as you are immuno-suppressed whilst pregnant that you are more susceptible to an attack but I will just make sure I'm extra vigilant at the time and mention any changes to MW.

Whoever said that under the bump jeans will get on your nerves was dead right. I've loved my ASOS boyfriend ones right up until today when everytime I sit down they roll down :( Unfortunately too short and curvy for the sizes left in the jojo over the bump ones gah!

I want one too Kindof, its gorgeous. Did you use waste canvas or was the baby grow the type where the threads are suitable?

Not sure I have time to do one with everything else I am trying to finish. Have you checked out the special occasions board? There are two cross stitch threads over there if you are interested.
