Are you going to share EA?
I'm down to my last piece of birthday cake now so I am looking for a replacement. lol.
xx
That's what I thought!! Even though I'm not techincally allowed cake!
Had a load of custard creams earlier (was heaven but very naughty!)
Yum, my casserole smells delish - my step-dad is a chef and he bought a piece of topside beef to make a beef madras on Wednesday cos it was cheaper than the other meat. Ended up with enough Madras to feed 10 hungry people and I've just made casserole for 4 people as well - so 14 meals from a £12 joint of gorgeous beef :money:
I'll write the complaint stuff out now - it's not riveting stuff just a few pointersA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

I text OH in sheer panic and he didn't even know im terrified of flys!
His helpful comment was "spray them with bleach"
The bleach is on the window seal where they all are lol.
Anyway i tried attacking one with anti bacterial spray. It didn't even bother it. So at least we have one very clean fly now

You dont need a spider ea you need me:rotfl: i can wield a towel and swat flys like a pro - even at 20 weeks preggy. I am far from fit i just seem to catch htem every time - oh thinks it is hillarious the speed i can move round the room fly swatting:rotfl:suppose i just hate the little horrors:o0 -
OMG Harley that must have been horrid! It's scary how much scalp cuts can bleed.
Just been and got my Lidl body pillow and very much looking forward to trying it out tonight, although OH will be home for the first night in 5 so it's not very good timing.
Hips still agony- tried to get a Dr's apt but was told I have to phone on Monday am to get one for Monday pm. I think I've come as far as I can with work and need to get signed off, for a bit at least just to give me poor over strained back and hips a rest. Hopefully Dr will agree, but I don't see how he can't.....
Am really enjoying my glider at the mo. Evenings are spent with my swollen feet up on the stool, gently rocking as I read or go on the laptop. It is heavenly and I highly recommend them to anyone considering getting one.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
The Complaints system has changed from April 09 in the NHS so means practices and hospitals actually have to act on them!
Complain in writing (they will just fob you off if you do it by phone or even face to face)
When you complain, ensure you have names, and all the details of when you rang or contacted the surgery and what you were told.
- There is nothing worse than receiving a complaint that says 'The receptionist told me to where to go but I don't know her name' - it's really hard to do anything about it. The manager ends up asking everyone if it was them and no-one admits to it and then the manager can't do anything to discipline the staff member. I could have got rid of some of the crap staff if people had the balls to say who it was!
In the letter, state that you feel the event should be treated as a significant event which, 'I trust this will be dealt with as all significant events should be and reviewed with the whole practice team to look at better ways of working and improving systems' go on to say that an anonymised copy of the meeting minutes or significant event review would at least show you that the practice are doing something to better their own practices (admittedly, the review might show that they don't need to do anything depending on the event).
Towards the end, I would state that 'Having discussed my situation with another patient of the practice I was alarmed to hear that a similar thing happened to them and depsite them complaining the practice it appears to have continued operating unsafe practices. It is for this reason, I feel I must send a copy of this letter to the PCT Complaints Manager to bring this to their attention'
Don't mention names or the actual situation though.
If you aren't happy with their response to your letter they should advise you that you have the right to contact the PCT (If you didn't in the first letter), you can also request a meeting with the manager and a GP to discuss your concerns if you aren't satisfied with their initial response.
Helen - can't remember what your issues were. Remind me and I'll see if there's anything else u could add.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Ooh let us know how the cake goes EA!
NMS I'll remeber that about ebay in case they don't fit!
Gemma I'm loving being pregnant too, and loving showing off my now obvious bump
Harley as she is your best mate I'm sue she does love you, she probably wouldn't have offered if she didn't
And I would have crapped myself too if I woke up covered in blood! Glad it wasn't anything too serious though.
I want to make a lemon cake but I have no lemons!0 -

:rotfl: You remind me of my dad, once he spent about 20 mins trying to swat a fly with a towel.
He just couldn't do it, he then went onto pretend he was the fly doing james bond style rolls away from the towel lol!
OH is on his way home now, he thinks the flys have either come because of the cat litter tray (which i doubt) or our blocked dishwasher that has a puddle of dirty water in as im waiting for my plumber dad to come round to to fix it for me
Quick question, am i entitle to Statutory Sick Pay because of my week off from swine flu? Which probably wasn't real swine flu but my doctors treated me as having it
Im going to fill out a SSP Self certification form, but the handbook im reading now doesn't make sense to me as its aimed for employers lol.

Are you entitled to any company sick pay EA?
Check out Direct.Gov Looks like you'll get paid for any days after the first three, at a rate of £79.15 a week.

SJ, I'm sure she does in her way, but its not quite the same as a doting dad/hubby. Her hubby was talking to my bump today, telling bubs that my god daughter and her will be best friends and will grow up together and share secrets and stuff. It was so sweet.
I'm loving being pregnant too, it's the first time in my life I have curves, my body is performing a miracle (more so than most) and I am constantly in awe of the little life growing in there.
The blood was scary GISI, and I've just scared my dad by telling him about it, lol. Think it has dried up again now though so I'm hoping I'll leave it alone tonight and it will be ok if I wash it in the morning. I'm a bit wary of washing it now in case I wash the scab away and it starts again since it takes so long to stop.
For anyone considering the Raspberry Leaf Tea, I too can highly recommend adding Vimto. I wasn't very keen originally but putting vimto into last nights cup and again tonight has made it much better.

EA - it won't help with the flies you have now but for future why don't you look at getting one of those electrified tennis racket type fly swats. They really work and provide hours of fun for all the family. (well, families as sick as mine anyway, lol)
