    Hi Glam

Ooh, you've got an actual date now! Now long for you now :T Are you enjoying your ML?

He's doing well, he was weighed last friday and was 6lb 10oz so putting on the weight well. He's even wearing some of the smaller newborn sized clothes :) went through a bit of a rough patch where he was projectile vomiting with most feeds, but a change of teats and milk and he is loads better!

He's currently asleep in his pram but it's just started to rain again so we're not going anywhere. I'm sure I can live with bread for a few more hours but could do with posting my CTC form

    Hello!!

Yes I am enjoying ML - had visitors all week so can now get some housework done :D

OH and I have moved half the furniture out of our room and said we'd do the rest tomorrow, I'm going to start sifting thru some of the mountains of paperwork to see what can be binned and what can be shredded.

Went to docs, won't give me anything unless I have a flare up but to ask consultant on Wednesday. Got my Lactulose (to soften my poo) and Fybogel (to actually make me go) - I only asked for Lactulose but ended up with the two! Also got another sharps bin.

Been and picked up most of my toiletries for hospital bag (it's still only half packed :o) and going to make a casserole for tea.

xmas - glad u r ready - I'm not so am glad I have the next few weeks to get sorted!
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Where does the time go?

He does seem to feel quite strongly about it although to be honest we have yet to have the proper indepth conversation about it. Have been doing some reading up today and you can't get it done on NHS for nonmedical reasons so I'm hoping that having to pay to do it privately may put him off;)

This was one of the issues we discussed this PRIOR to the marriage and having children as i felt/ feel very strongly against it - I didnt want it done on either sex of our baby / babies as it is often performed by an unqualified person - although i am sure it is possible to pay for a medical professional to do it:confused: Didnt do much research into the actual procedure as it was something i didnt want to happen iyswim. I am not even sure if it is legal in the UK  although i am sure it is done. It was decided that any children we have can make a decision regarding circumcision when they are 18. I have also seen adult ladies struggle dangerously with birth due to the degree to which they have been cut / sewn up as babies.

Just thoughts I would let you know about cheap maternity jeans - £5- as posted on hotukdeals (apologies if this has already been posted, I did a quick search but nothing came up)

ETA: I have an Ikea bed and mattress too and I love it!

Thanks for the jeans tip! I've just ordered myslef a pair. Hope they aren't too long though as only had 8 long, 8 extra long, and 10 extra long left! I've ordered the 8 long and am keeping my fingers crossed! Sure they'll be ok even if just for sitting in the house, and for £5 not the end of the world if I only wear them a bit. I also got 2 bikinis at £5 each and a halterneck top for my honeymoon for £5 too! Free delivery so £20 for all that, I'm well chuffed! :T

Thanks for the tip on Ikea beds. They don't do interest free credit though I don't think and I'd quite like a full king size as OH is big and tall and likes to stretch out in bed and we really need the extra space, not to mention how it'll be in 5 months when I'm loads bigger too!

Evening all, hope everyone is well.
I was stopped today by a mother at my sons school who knows my daughter she was asking if i was ok, she seen me yesterday and was worried something had happened to the baby(daughter must have said). Thought that was nice of her and well i think i like that someone had took an interest, she has a son at a year old so i asked her about her care at the start of the pregnancy and got a surprise.

Her doctors was the same one and she hates them too, she miscarried in the surgery and they sent her to hospital in a taxi!!!!!! Again because she hadn't been booked in. She was able to tell me the receptionists names so i now have names to put on the complaint. don't hold out hope of anything being done considering her husband complained too and obviously nothing has changed.

But on a good note I have a beautiful pram with all the frills and a high chair so all i need is a cot. Her wee boy was only in the pram once because it was two big for in her house, you know the saying as small as a shoe box well hers is definitely a match box lol

On the earlier subject of ear piercing i hate it too. Considering all the clothing getting pulled over a babies head not to mention how kids fiddle with their ears, it must be irritating and painful to the baby when they get snagged all the time.

I have another debate to start that i heard at Tesco's tonight that really irritates me.
Baby talk i don't mean the stupid cooing etc that we all end up doing i mean the people that use bobo for bottle or the one i heard today do you want to go to mc Donalds for bit bit.:confused:drives me nuts teach them how to talk before the English language is forgotten.

    Hi Purple

OH feels the same but purely cos he had his done at 21 and was in absolute agony and for kids it isn't as painful and scarring isn't such an issue. I'd rather not, but seeing what OH went through I feel it may be worth it in the long run, just feels like its a bit brutal.

If anyone has had any anti-d injetions wd be good to hear your experiences as I'm a bit nervous. My mum only had one after giving birth so she can't help.

Also with regards to the 'H' discussion, unfortunately I'm a sufferer too. Seems like my size, medical history and blood are conspiring against me to make this seem like a potentially hard going pgncy, but so far I feel really good.

Please don't hate me for saying this (and please scroll down now if u r having a bad time), I am absolutely loving being pg, although at 17 wks already getting people telling me I'm going to be huge or have a big baby as I have quite a large bump already. I'm sure it's just relative to my normal height/ size but being asked if its twins has made me a bit paranoid. Usually though I just strut around with my bump proudly thrust forward! I love it.

Off for tea for MILs birthday tonight, which should be nice.

Can't remember who was in at Kings Lynn, but I have so far been quite impressed with the care they have given me and my friend, so hopefully things will continue this way.

Also, my friend had a baby last Friday and had a water birth and said she thought it had helped, although was first baby so nothing to compare it to. She only had gas and air at the end. HTH- sorry can't remember who was asking about that either.

Memory is completely shot, I think maybe the baby is feeding directly off my brain now!

Also, I had an asthma attack yesterday (nearly got knocked over at work and think this triggered it as made me jump), and was a bit concerned as I usually only have them when I exercise. All seems ok now, but has anyone else got asthma and has this been effected by being pg?

God I really do run on sometimes, sorry.....................

32B - before you complain - let me put some info in a post for you! I just did it and lost it! goint to put my laptop on in an hour or so and will give you some helpful tips on what to put in the letter to make sure you get most of it and how to involve other agencies as surgeries like to keep these thinsg quiet and not do anything.
The NHS complaints procedure has changed recently so I can help you go down the right route if you want to.

That's only if you want it (feel fre to tell me to sod off) but I used to manage a surgery and know GP's like to sweep these things under the carpet which is probably how it's managed to happen again!

    Hi all

SJ - Thanks for the link about birth partners but I think the emphasis was on a loving birthing companion, which I'm sure would make all the difference, but my options are best mate - prob not all that loving, or midwife - also not that loving but more likely to know what they are doing. Loving wouldn't even come into it for me I'm afraid. God, that sounds a bit 'woe is me', it's not meant to be but that's the way things have worked out and I am doing my best to work with what I have.

Welcome to all the newbies and congratulations.

Glad you are back Glam, know you have been busy but we have missed your chat.

My etsy bag arrived yesterday and it is wonderful. I highly recommend Miss Ocean if anyone needs a change bag, far cheaper than even the most basic UK ones and so pretty and practical. And no, I'm not on commission - though maybe I should be, lol.

I had an awful scare this morning. I woke up covered in blood. All over my hands and chest and face. I sat up, completely disorientated to find that the pillow was drenched and my hair was dripping in it. God knows what I have done but blood was pouring from the back of my head. I ran next door to ask my neighbour to have a quick look and tell me if it was bad or not and she said it was a little cut about the size of a pin head. Now I know heads bleed well but this was ridiculous. Proper scared the whatsit out of me. Took a good 3 hours plus to stop bleeding, then started again walking around the supermarket this afternoon. I'm going to assume it was an itch I scratched too hard or a spot or something because Idon't know what else it could be.

And to top it all off my feet have swollen up even bigger than ever and I could hardly drive home from work. They are really sore now so I have them up and will be resting for the rest of the night.

Hope all well, and both ladies enjoyed last working days. Only 2 weeks to go for me. Yippee
