By leaving i assume you mean my place of work and not my home? lol.

Well im going at the earliest possible date i can as im not going back to work after ML. Im going to college for a year then onto uni :)

My ML will finish just as college starts so it will be handy.

Im nervous to! Like super nervous, i know there is a baby in there cause i see it 5 weeks ago but i also know what a 12 week scan looks like so if they scan me and i dont see what is an obvious, yet small, baby i will freak out.
They show the moniter as they scan you at the place im going to. So i might look away until they say to look, or get OH to tell me when to look.

You should feel better afterwards, i know i will. But i wont be completly ok until the baby is out of me and in my arms safe and sound :)

    xx

LOL yes sorry I meant work

Aww that sounds like a great plan :)

I think I will work as long as I can, I should have about 5 weeks leave left so I might finish a while before and take leave?

I am pleased its normal to be stressing about the scan, its insane isnt it the worry you go through, but your right I dont think I will stop stressing till baby is in my arms safe and sound lol

Ohhh you know what was freaky lol, I keep getting feelings that I am having twins, I have no idea why, there is no valid reason for this thought lol and this morning the alarm went off and the radio guy said its twins

oh my god is it a sign or what lol

Oh and I am making a chocolate cake later, ohhh and I made something else I think you will all like, I will post a picture later

  • Afternoon all,
I`m having such a confusing day. OH has got some tickets for us to go to a circus for free today and I know he really wants to go, but.... I`m really against animals in circus's and I know this one has full size and minature horses that do tricks in the ring so I don't really want to.
Not sure what to do, I know its not the same as bears or lions etc but at the same time animals are animals and I wouldnt even see a cat preform tricks in a circus.
    What would you guys do?

I wouldn't go, I'm not too fussed about horses performing but I HATE clowns so won't go near a circus :p

Ahh, the reaon i asked is because people keep asking why we're leaving the flat for a house. The flat is cheaper then a house would be.
But i want a house with a garden *stamps feet like toddler* :rotfl:

Im taking 2 weeks holiday before my ML, as my ML starts xmas day and i want to have time to prepare the house ready for xmas before xmas lol.

Also it means i can go decoration crazy on the house and OH cant stop me as he'll be at work! :D

Oooh OH has found a job he wants to apply for! And i really think he could do it. Its a library assistant, buts its an extra £2k a year than he's on now and he would love it. He wants to get into teaching and this role requires running of the childrens reading sessions :)

If he does get this job, will he still be entitle to paternity leave? Does anyone know?

Oooh i would of loved twins, OH was a twin and i have twins in my family. But theres only one bean in me this time :)

    xx

kindof and EA, the worrying never stops when baby comes, it gets worse :D

You'll both worry much less when you can feel baby moving i'm sure, but then there's always new worries that come with every stage!

Oh by the way my latest worry is that my baby will be disabled. I have no reason to think it, but i had to be rescanned at 20wks as they couldn't see all of the spine. (i didn't drink enough)
And then on the repeat baby was laid awkward so she struggled to see the spine. So does this mean she might not have seen the 'markers' that indicate spina bifida??

My 16wk bloods came back low risk, and nothing unusual showed on any of the scans, but still i keep thinking it

Afternoon all, Well i ended up going to a new doctors.
After i dropped the kids of i went to my mums so i could call for an appointment at my original doctors at 8'30. the reply when i said i would like a call back from the doctor "oh it's you again you do know the doctor will not be able to do anything until you have seen MW" so i just hung up done an errand for OH.

When to the new doctors and explained what was happening they weren't able to see me as they have no medical history but the nurse came round the counter and took my heart rate the old fashioned way lol Quickly felt my bump and booked me for her first appointment on Monday morning.
She even advised me on NRT because i was not doing to well on my own and i didn't want to use a counter bought patch etc. She even adviced me on the supplements to take in the morning.

I left feeling allot better not 100% but not as anxious now. roll on Monday.
Sitting drinking a berry tea trying to cut down on the caffeine intake. feel like a different person today.

Hello to newbies and hope everyone is well, i need to catch up.

    EA: paternity leave info
    Who is eligible?

For you to qualify for Statutory Paternity Pay, all of the following must apply:
    • you must be the biological father or adopter of the child or be the mother's (or adopter's) husband, partner or civil partner or have or expect to have responsibility for the child's upbringing
    • you must have continued to work for the same employer without a break for at least 26 weeks by the 15th week before the baby is due, or employed up to and including the week your wife, partner or civil partner was matched with a child
    • you must continue to work for that employer without a break up to the date the child is born or placed for adoption
    • you must be earning an average of at least £90 a week (before tax)
