I am going to try and find a lidl near me today to get a body pillow I think. Think that would help me stop rolling onto my front as I sleep which I need to stop doing.
Think they have a store locator online.
I'm sure Sami Bee was always saying that shower curtains were good for covering floor etc for home births, ladies.

Hi guys :hello:I've been lurking for a while but thought it was about time I actually joined in lol.
I'm due on the 26th September-a little boy :j and have a 5 yr old girl already (who is very excited!)
It's been great reading the posts-especially those due around the same time as me to know that all the various aches pains etc I have actually seem to be the norm
I do have a question which may prompt an interesting debate....
my partner is circumcised and really wants our son to be too when he is born so they will 'look the same'. This is not something I would even have concidered and I'm not sure I really want it done....lots of discussion still to be had about it. So I wondered if anyone else was concidering it/in a similar position?0 -
Fitzio - congrats on it being your last working day. Not jealouse at all:rolleyes:
Welcome to newbies.
So sorry to hear that a few ladies, jha and 32b are having problems with doctors / midwives. Must be so scary and frustrating.
To those not feeling good, get well vibes - GISI, bear and EA.
And SJ sorry you are still having problems with your teeth. I had to have a part root canal done when i was around 4 months pregnant. I had been in agony and the antibiotics didn't work. I felt so much better after the procedure and could have kissed the dentist, i was so happy to be pain free. Pregnancy brings enough of its own, aches and pains without having to cope with added ones.
Speaking of which feeling quite achey in my bump and at the top of legs. Feels at bit like period cramps. Am so sick of feeling crap and moaning. But only 24 days to go :j.
Have an evening wedding doo to go to tomorrow. And that will involve, shaving legs and applying of fake tan, not to mention huge amount of time and care (for once) in drying and straightening hair. The whole thought of having to "get ready" to go out fills me with dread. I am soooo lazy. Oh god, and i need to sort my toes nails out too, clip and nail polish. I'm quite sure that will be exhausting in its self. If physically possible. Really wish i could book in somewhere for someone to do it all for me, but funds will not allow. Sigh..........0 -

Hi all,
Have a great last day at work Fitzio mine seems like a distant memory now!
Welcome Gillby and Purple-fairy!
Sorry to hear about the horrible hospital experience Jha I hope it all turns out ok for you and you get peace of mind soon.
Is it bad that today 2 different postmen have commented on the amount of ebay parcels arriving at my house lately?! I wasn't going to have a nursery but I have been a bit naughty and started buying matching things for one without telling me! Got a bit obsessed with M + P stuff and now thing I may have OD'd on the beige! My ebay cotbed came on Tues and can't wait to get it all set up now. I think it was all the lovely pics of nurseries you lot have been posting. I've always been in the mind that they are a waste of time but I couldn't help myself lol!
Got my Lidl body pillow yesterday. It was the last one on the display at only 11am. I was determined to give it a go as I've been getting really uncomfortable lately and remember in the later stages of pg with DD I resorted to taking the base cushions off the sofa to bed with me! Have a leather suite now so cant do that.
I was a bit put off that it just looked a bit like 2 ordinary pillows sewed together when it was in the packaging but I must say that it's been really great. Bubs doesn't seem to like me sitting on the sofa leaning on my side as he seems to fall sideways and get trapped round the bottom of my ribs and I can feel scrabbling about (ew!) you can wrap the pillow round you in any position and make it fairly comfy so managed to stay up a little bit later as I didn't give up and go to bed. Took it to bed and I didn't wake up once so it deffo must have done the trick!
Since I started taking the iron tablets for the anemia my restless legs (arms, head and just about everything else!) has finally settled down so I wonder if I've been anemic for much longer than they have said. I was taking Spatone (a natural iron supplement from Boots) sporadically but this apparently wasn't enough to stop me getting anemic.
Got MW coming this afternoon for the sugar in the urine test so have my fingers crossed that it's going to be ok. I even struggled to find what I could eat for breakfast this morning (so I wouldn't have a clue what to eat on a daily basis if it is GD) hope unsweetened porridge is ok as I think its low GI
Emma (DD 6) has been a real chatterbox these past few days so will be glad of the little rest when she stays at my mum's tonight. Her birthday is next Sat but as well as her birthday tea then, my mum is doing a little buffet for her tomorrow so she's really excited. She seems to have about 3 birthdays every year what with my mum, me and then visiting her dad's!0 -
pookie5488 wrote: »Anyone want to hazard a guess is it a girl bump or a boy bump??
I keep getting told by random strangers and work colleagues it's a boy but I thought boy bumps were meant to be lower and neater, mine is just freaking huge. Doesn't help that I'm not even five foot tall so guess only way for baby to grow is outwards!!
Thank you all for your kind comments but up close my bump is covered in hundreds of (thankfully silver) stretch marks and only looks toned cos my skin is stretched like a drum! Had a scan today as well and baby measuring big 1300 grammes, think thats about 2lb 8oz (that can't be right can it?)
I am guessing Boy
xmaslolly - Thats what I heard as well "Pookie i have been told all the way through i was having a boy when people tried to guess apparntly we carry boys all up front like we have a football stuck to our fronts where as girls tend to spread so we look preganant from the back as well" My question there is though what if you already have love handles lol like me so you already have a spread lol how will that work on me?
fattybooboo - thanks, I am following you now

Hi purple and gillby!
Thanks bear, I tried that and even with the maps I'm not sure exactly where it is but I'm going to get directions from the almighty google and go on my way home from work! Just hope there are some left when I get there!0 -
Hi everyone,
I’ve been getting the odd cramp over the last few days – some very light but some more severe – like period cramps. I’ve read that this is fairly normal, but wanted reassurance that someone out there has had the same thing?
Also, despite being really happy about the news, I’ve actually been feeling really a bit low for the last week. I feel like work is a real struggle, lacking my normal confidence – I just wish I could curl up in a ball and stay home. I was actually relieved to find out I’m pg as now I know it’s probably just hormones. Has anyone else had this?
Gilly
Gilly, I had loads of cramps in the early weeks of pregnancy and still get them now, mostly pretty mild though. If you have any bleeding as well as this I would go straight to A+E which is what I did at 11(ish) wks. There seems to be a lot of stories on here about people having problems seeing any health professional before they have had their booking in appointment so if it gets really bad then its may be best (if not ideal) to go to casualty, I found it much easier to be taken seriously at the Early Pregnancy Unit because I'd been. Unlike with poor 32b who seems to have hit a wall of resistance. There seems to be a lot of variations between different authorities on this though.
Your hormones will be all over the place at the moment so there will most likely be times when you will feel emotional. I've had numerous really low periods in both my pregnancies but although they've been quite bad at the time, they do get better.
I know it's really hard when all this is going on inside you and you can't tell anyone! It's not for long though and hopefully everything will settle down soon. x0 -
Morning all, DS didn't wake up til 10:30am, so glad as i didn't get to sleep til about 2 :T
32B - i hope the cramping has got better today
SJ - It was me and harley1 re. the birthing partner. I think harley was undecided but she said she quite liked the idea of doing it with a student mw.
In my case, i definitely definitely don't want to be on my own - but my problem is i don't have a lot of choice! My mother is a <lots of swearwords>, my sister will hopefully be babysitting and dogsitting, and i'm wondering if i will ever work things out with ex before baby comes.... We've been in contact but he's not trying hard enough so i've said he has to prove himself and fight for me, then we can talk. lol!
My friend has offered, which i'm grateful for, but not sure if she's gonna be best. She wouldn't flap or anything, she isn't queasy, but she's never done it and i'd feel better if someone was there who knew what to expect. Sounds selfish and unfair i know, but that's how i feel at the min. Also, family or ex would have more connection to baby than her.. :S i dunno!0
