OMG just caught up and it was 3 hours ago I said I was just off to catch up!! Have watched Hollyoaks online in that time thogot-it-spend-it wrote: »Has anyone had anti-D injections? Are they just fairly run of the mill or are they particularly nasty? Also, are they in your butt?!
Got mine next week and was planning on going out for dinner afterwards, but will re-arrange if they make you feel rubbish x x
Hi GISI, hope ur feeling bit less teary now, I keep getting emotional too!! I have got my anti d injection this saturday morning. Good luck for yours!! My friend from work had hers on Tuesday and hers was in her arm and she said it was uncomfortable but not hideous. She had to wait for 30 mins afterwards before she could go which I didnt realise.
My biggest worry is that we are transferring to a new IT network where there is a tiny e-mail storage limit. I have around 22,000 e-mails and don’t have time to clear out what I don’t want. I am really stressing about losing 7 years worth of information and work.
Hi Fitzio, not that with it with computers etc but at my work we used to keep all our emails to kinda cover our backs if there was a problem, but the IT guys needed to clear space so they archived them which just created a file on my PC (which we could back up to disc) then you can access it through Outlook if you need to see anything on there. Does that help?
Dont know if you remember but I have kept feeling dodgy after scoffing biscuits etc after dinner so last night I managed not to have a thing after dinner and felt fine. Yay!! However tonight I have just had 2 crumpets, any need at gone 10 at night!! Feeling fine so far though
Right off to bed now I think, chat tomorrow xxBaby Toby born 17th Nov 09 :j0 -
Thanks Boo. I probably won't even care about the e-mails come Monday, but just stressing as I am running out of time and it's not my fault! I know I can archive them in some way, but a bit wary of losing them so going to mess about on my own PC here tonight.
Hope you don't feel ill from eating your crumpets tonight! You don't want to be giving up cakes and stuff! I know you have a sweet tooth ha ha.
Bear - you were asking about a water birth. Do you mean at hospital? I have asked about it and they have 2 pools in my hospital, so I am thinking that I will use them if available, although maybe just for labour, not for delivery. I picked up a leaflet on it and it says you can wear a bra, cropped top, customised swimwear or nothing. It recommends not wearing a t-shirt as you can get cold when the t-shirt is soaking wet. Will hopefully find out more info at next weeks Parentcraft class.
I am surprised that everyone is talking about the size of babies. As I only got a 12 week scan, I don't have any measurements. The midwife just feels for the baby's position and says it's a good size. She doesn't actually measure me though. I guess whatever size the baby is, you just have to get on with it and make the best of it. I think I would rather not know than be stressing thinking it's going to be huge though!!
Oooh, just noticed I have a third star! lol. I must talk too much as I definitely haven't posted 759 moneysaving tips!0 -

Thanks, Fitzio. That's exactly what I meant. I have my first of 2 Parentclasses Sat so I will ask about it, too.
I forgot to post earlier that Lidl were offering body pillows for £9.99 today. I went to my local one last thing and they had a few left, plus pillowcases for £2.99. Much better than paying Mothercare's £45!
Here's the links. Even says on packaging suitable for pregnancy and as a feeding pillow, too.

I bought a body pillow at Costco a few months ago. It lay around and I thought I had totally wasted my money as it was just pointless. But in the last few weeks, it's been great! Only problem is that I like to sleep with it now and I toss and turn so it's difficult to turn with a big long pillow with a duvet over me!
Will recommend the Lidl one to girls at work who are pregnant though. Sami posted it the other day I think, but good to get a recommendation!
I found the Parentcraft class to be quite good. We have 4 x 2hr sessions. It's 1 hour of midwife then 1 hour of physiotherapist so she was showing exercises etc. The midwife part covered a lot about pregnancy which seemed a bit late considering I am 35 weeks, but was still interesting even if I knew a lot of it. Next week it's going to cover labour and breathing etc.0 -
 ok I think I am very slowly nesting... as long as it isn't something too low or too high
I was beginning to panic that someone would need to nest for me
:rotfl:
Fitzio and Squishy - hope you both have a good last day today
Re bumps I think the oldwives tales always work the wrong way for me? girls are neat - with ds I was the size of a house all over. If I can find a top long enough will post a bump pic...
I haven't been measured as such either (although mw thought I was a bit small and sent me for a 36wk growth scan) when I walked in the sonographer said "well look at the size of you - you aren't made for big babies!"I had spent 4 days in a panic for nothing - whats new?!
I remember with ds the mw giving me a look and telling me he was going to be a "big" baby... he weighed exactly the same as dd1 (who was a neat bump) - although he was longer.
32b - hope you are sleeping better tonight x
xmas - sorryI have been trying to think back to dd2 - I could barely walk for the last month or so the only thing I can think of (which you are probably doing anyway) is a heap of pillows/cushions to support your knee when lying down. Sorry can't think of anything to help with getting up (I seem to remember hurling myself out of bed onto the floor and then standing up - slowly
) Hope your DH is home for a hug soon - I seem to be flitting between being almost in tears all the time to being really wound up - there is no middle ground atm
Can I ask a dumb question? ok I will anywayShower curtains for homebirth - to cover the floor (am I right?) Is a cheapy ok or does anyone have a recommendation? that sounds so daft... I just noticed that they are made from different material. I have an old (waterproof) table protector but it is quite small...
It is our wedding anniversary on Tuesday so I asked DH if we could just do cards this year (since he always shops for birthdays/xmas etc at the very last min i.e. on the way home from work the night before ) apparently not this year... men! - although I forgot to look for a card the other day tooI am too focused on it being the day the kids go back to school...
Better go I have a bunch of paperwork that can easily be filed under "B"
Hope everyone slept well and hasn't been up too many times x0 -
Thanks for all the kind words, and the advice on Anti-D. I'm feeling much brighter today although my hip is really sore and I don't quite know how I will last the day on my feet.
Hope everyone has a lovely Friday- is it your last day today Fitzio? If so hope it goes well!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
My Body pillowhas been a godsend highly recommended to everyone.
Morning chasing the shower curtain thing i have gone for the cheap white argos one i didnt fancy the plastic ones (ie the clear type things that are like armband plastic) as they will be slippery when wet. I presume this one is still plastic but has the feel of fabric and doesnt feel slippery under foot it was £4.99 though so not very MSE as you can buy far cheaper ones from b&M and Wilkinsons which are plastic but along with the protection mat that came with the pool it should be enough. I suppose if you have a shower curtain the senisble thing to do is to use the old one and buy yourself a nice new one for the shower unfortunately ours is a built in cubicle.
Good luck with the anti D GISI im so glad i dont have to go through that i do feel for you ladies that have to we already feel like pin cushions with out extra :-) x:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -

Used the body pillow last night and it was great. It was slightly cumbersome when moving from side to side but it def improved comfort and was a good back support when I sat up in bed reading last night.
Got bad sore throat and fel bunged up so not going into work today, going to put my feet and maybe sort stuff into drawers in the nursery. I'm sure this is my body's way of telling me to slow down.
