Mariel - I have a permanent floordrobe!0

Afternoon all! I'm feeling sleepy - it was my office Christmas party last night! Although I didn't drink or stay particularly late because I was worried about getting home with the adverse weather round here. I live an 80 mile round trip from my office so travel has to be meticulously planned! It was all very hectic yesterday. Managed to grab a Soap and Glory hatbox (had no idea about them... just happened to be in Boots when they were putting them out. I wanted to be involved in the scrum so just grabbed one without really knowing what I was grabbing! Love it though!) and had a good gossip with girls from work, so that was fun.
Today I'm dressed for warmth in:
Black skinny jeans
Black polo neck
Black floral vest
Denim shirt
Black leather boots
Fluffy earmuffs
Gold bird ring
And will add my parka when I nip to Sainsbury's in a minute. I'm doing all my wrapping and watching Christmas films with OH today - yay!0 -
GG - OMG, just looked at your blog!!! Congratulations hun, how exciting.xx0

Ooh, it's cold, cold, cold here, it's started snowing again and I'm just about to leave work to go and get my hair cut and I've forgotten my hat! Still, I'm well "rugged up" as my friend would say, wearing:
black woolly tights under black leggings
fine knit thermal long sleeved vest
charcoal asymetric tshirt (H&M)
Oversized charcoal fine knit jumper over the top
Sheepskin Ugg type boots
Congratulations GG, what lovely news, I'm so happy for you. :T
Must dash now, let the shearing commence!0 -
That's so exciting GG! And you look so completely happy in those pics.
Had a really busy day trying to clean and tidy the house - I just don't seem to have been here long enough to keep on top of things the last week or so. I've got everything done that needed doing except the Christmas cards, I've no idea where to put them, I think I'll try tying strings to the curtain pole on the front window. It's a rented house so drawing pins etc are a no-no.
Tonight I'll be wearing
black strapless babydoll dress (New Look £6)
black jersey shrug (New Look)
black semi-shiny leggings (New Look £3)
really tacky sparkly blue bracelet, necklace and chandelier earrings (Primark)
probably flat over-knee boots (but knee length on me! Primark last year £15)
faux fur jacket (second-hand stall £10)
new make up (super-bargain huge box of good quality stuff, £22 QVC TSV a few days ago, I can recommend YBF make up!)
I would be wearing heels but I just can't face going out without wrapping up!
I'll be photographing this one for my Facebook0 -
Thank you all very much. And for anyone reading this who doesn't read my blog - I just got engaged.
I'm currently making tea (chicken with brie wrapped in parma ham, roast potatoes and greens) and then heading out to watch Avatar - not really the Christmas movie I was looking for, but fun all the same!
Have a great night all.0 -
Congrats GrammarGirl!!!!!!!!!!
I mostly lurk here but thought I had to share my fab bargain with you all. I popped into my trendy local Oxfam today and they had just had a HUGE donation of clothes with the tags still on! I got my mitts on a brand new Mexx brown tweed coat (RRP £149!) for only £30!!!
It is expensive for a coat in a charity shop I know (and Oxfam is the most overpriced charity shop imho) but would be a total bargain if I'd bought it in the sales! I am thrilled with it, it's gorgeous.

Grammar Girl, congratulations! I loved being engaged....enjoy it!
Is everyone naked to day? Its so cold!
I've been in out door clothes all day....braving the ice ...but just about to have a shower and put an evening dress on for tonight. Not sure what I'm going to wear, it depends what fits...
first one I'm trying though is a very bright canary-on-acid yellow dress bought of the reject rail at Monsoon for £5....had a few loose crystals, easily repaired, and needed an iron. So, hopefully thats what I'm going with. Going to accesorise with some nude and crystal Jimmy Choos...and diamond studs and wedding rings...possibly a greem pashmina too. Only popping out for a very short while....long enough to be seen as having made an effort and then come back....the roads are leathal...don't want to share them late with more commited per Christmas drikers/partiers.

I'm not naked, just haven't had a minute! Life seems to be taking over at the moment.
Dressed for comfort and warmth today
black flared Killah cords (CS)
purple long sleeved t-shirt (Tesco)
grey tunic t-shirt with pink and silver print and a frill skirt bit (New Look)
Black furry hooded fleece usually reserved for camping (Next via CS)
spotty wellies (New Look bought years ago on staff discount)
faux fur jacket (vintage)
purple leather gloves (Primark)
the snow has finally landed here, at least it means it is a bit warmer!0
