Claire, I can PM you the recipe if you want? They are basically super simple to make biscuits that have ginger and mixed spice in so are lovely for this time of year!
No snow here today, more predicted tomorrow but it's never heavy and never settles.
My brother was meant to be coming back from uni today (Leeds) but he said they have heavy snow so isn't sure if he'll be able to get back till Monday (original planned day to come home, but he's having a bit of a crisis)
Dressed now:
Black satin ruffle skirt: New Look
Black thermal tights: Tesco
Thermal camisole: Uniqlo
Thin knit long sleeve top, also black: Asda
Bow tie detail vest: Topshop.0 -
Thanks for all the advice and lovely comments everyone! I'll have a mass trying-on session when we go shopping and see how close I am to any of the sizes. Probably will just about shoehorn myself into the 18 at the moment but I've got 5 months to go and the weight seems to be coming off steadily still so here's hoping
I'm prepared for a plateau at some point but I'd rather it didn't happen
Last day at work today before I'm off for 3 weeks, woop woop! :j
Today's outfit is another what-comes-to-hand-first special as I was very late this morning:
Black boots
Jeans
Royal blue tunic
Black cashmere cardi
And newly cut hair

Daisy - yes please if not too much trouble x
Alex - enjoy the trying on, it's the best bit
. You've done so well with your weightloss, wish I was as dedicated, I've put some back on in the last few weeks. Am trying hard now, but Christmas fun keeps getting in the way!! 0 -
Hi everyone,
I hope if it's snowy where you are it isn't causing you any problems. My poor hubby has a 1.5 hour commute by car to work and last night got stuck on the M1 for 4 hours, luckily he had his golf waterproofs and a metalic blanket that I made him keep in his car so he was warm, he did have to pee in a cup though!
I am going to make him the emergency kit I have been talking about for about a year (ever since he was relocated that far away) last night was the kick up the bum I needed.
We've just been out sledging and digging snow with Scoop (from Bob the Builder in case you're not a mummy!) Had great fun but I should have worn two layers of socks as my toes got cold.
My outfit today is more for comfort and warmth that fashion but it's not too bad:
Thermal stripey long johns - Given to me by my mum, under blue Skinny jeans - £6 Tesco sale
Long sleeve teal top - Primark £2ish
Grey and black animal print slouchy cardigan - Tesco £5 sale
Red double breasted belted short mac type coat- Asda £7.50 sale
Navy wellies with multicolour spots - Freecycle
Hat with peak in a grey/black tweedy fabric with pearly buttons and velvet trim - £3.50 Primark and looks so cute!
Huge wide scarf - (It's almost a blanket really) grey with black flock type design - H&M a few years ago about £10.
Black gloves - £1 primark.
Accessoried perfectly by red sledge and toddler wearing a huge padded grey and blue snowsuit, navy wellies, grey and blue hat.
Daisybella - can I please have the recipe too - think Dylan and I will be baking later!
Have fun and drive carefully x0 -
Hello!
No snow here but it's soooooo cold! I braved my last swim of the year this morning and treated BF to some thermal long johns which he's now wearing along with a fake fur trappers hat and vintage dressing gown - very stylish.
Liking the sound of a HUGE whisky toddy, Judgejaq - I may concoct one before I go out later although the symptoms don't seem as bad as they were yesterday - perhaps the news that we're really going on holiday has boosted my immune system.
Off for a Christmas cocktail party tonight with a group of pals, not sure what I'm wearing yet but may give my vintage gold hand-crochet maxi a trial run (with a thermal vest underneath).
Today's outfit:
Acid wash high waisted skinny jeans (Market)
Black long sleeved skinny top (Mango via boot sale)
Vintage cashmere swing coat with snake epaulettes (Jumble sale)
Fun fur bolero (Handmade)
Huge gold hoop earrings and stacks of brass bangles
Hand-knitted gold metallic skull cap
Tod's turquoise python boots (car boot)
I'm off for a snuggle on the settee with the cats to watch last night's Gavin and Stacey.
Have a lovely afternoon and keep warm!
Goan

Zara- I love bright colours at this time of year, but I dont have many in my wardrobe apart from my bright pink coat!
My dress arrived
I'm in love, and feel less guilty about buying it now as it fits well and will be perfect for all occassions with different rights and accessories. So that's good!0 -
Vicki where do you get stripy long johns from? I NEED some!
Djenks my daughter wore that dress in pink for her works Xmas do last night, it's lovely and it isn't all that short, it'll be lovely for Xmas day with opaques or even leggings.
Goan that's fab news about your flights! Bet you're so relieved. You should ddefinitely wear the crochet dress it's beautiful (presuming you're talking about the one that is on your blog).
I went out to a friend's gig last night and wore
Puff sleeve jumper (daughter's)
black ruched 3-layered skirt (Next years ago but it is still my favourite)
magenta tights under black lace ones (Primark)
black chunky heeled Mary-Janes (New Look)
vintage style black faux fur jacket (CS £9.99)
A bit 'daytime' for a gig but it was what I wanted to wear.
Work again today and I dressed for warmth
black polo neck (CS)
grey and turquoise tunic dress with ethereal fairy print (New Look £22)
black skinnies (CS)
black suede fringed moccasin boots (New Look)
black wool cardi coat (me-made)
I've realised I'm not that comfortable and don't feel good in a lot of my clothes, I wear them because I like them so I'm going to attempt a bit of a revamp. I'm going to bag up all the stuff I don't wear, put it in the garage, give it a year and if I haven't worn anything it is going.
Inspired by Vicki I'm going to do a Facebook album of my outfits. Once I've got it set up I'll let you know should anyone want to have a look.
x0 -
Mariel- I def want to see your facebook album when it's done! I use my blog for that purpose,
too many people on my facebook that I'm too lazy to delete, but who I don't want seeing my outfits for one reason or another

I love this weather. Its cold but dry here....and NO MUD because the ground froze . The animals outside seem warm and happy, depsite strongish winds, and my delicate flower old horse was very warm with just one rug on, she's never been this hardy....and I wanted to put her neck cover on because she's always had it...but resisted, because she's comfortable as is. It feels odd though, because she's normally in loads of layers by now, and certanly at this temperature!
I was dressed for warmth. Black velvet trousers, cashmere jumper, pashmina. Horrid sliver flats that shrunk when I got home and are far too tight....feel grumpy about it, but have no choice till I can get ut: I seem to have no practical flats ATM: every thing is fabric or suede0
