It's started snowing here, too :(
I managed to get a walk in before it started and I had a feeling it would; though we're usually the last in the country to get snow, if we get any at all!
    Oh well,
perfect excuse for curling up under a blanket not doing much.

Thanks for helping me justify the dress girls,
it's not even like I couldn't afford it, I just have a huge mental block over spending on myself.

Goanmad, what you need is a HUGE hot whisky toddy. You too Zara!

You and me both hun, I just bought some clip in hair extensions, I've been wanting them for ages but for some reason couldn't bring myself to get them. It's like I have to really justify what I want to buy. Saying that, I'm fine buying stuff for other people

Me too, in fact there is nothing I enjoy more than buying little gifts for people/sending a letter/making a little keepsake, just because I know it'll make them smile!

Oh well, I think I prefer this to my old "if I like it I'll buy it whether I need it or will wear it" phase,
    far more MSE!

Most certainly...I swear by them. Heat the whiskey, lemon juice and honey too...not to boiling, but to hot-hot before adding hot water to a mug warmed with hot water.

    Hot is good.

I fancy one and I don't even have a cold!;)

Edit: some times I add a thin slice of frech ginger too. ;)

Ok folks maybe you can help me with my dilema!

    I've bought this dress:

    http://www.newlook.co.uk/1808080/180808050/ProductDetails.aspx

and was hoping to wear it for Xmas day and my boxing day night out. However it is mid thigh length so I think its a bit short to wear on Xmas day? I have a black shrug to wear on Xmas day and was going to get some new jewelery for Boxing Day night.

Do you think that this would be too short for the day? If so any ideas on what else I can buy for Xmas Day, that is sparkly, won't cost me a lot and can be worn again?
  • hi friends
i like the collection of styleshake. you can also try syleshake uk
    Hola! ¿C!mo est!s?*

No, I haven't lost my mind. Nor am I going on holiday (yet). There's no real reason for the Spanish. Just felt like it this morning.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying this frankly grim day (weather-wise).

Yesterday I looked like I'd been dressed, while unconscious, by a well-wisher. Today I have made slightly more effort:

    Cream trousers, Banana Republic, £20
    Navy blue t-shirt, Gap, £10
    Purple trainers, Reebok, £20

Oh, though. This is a variation on what I have worn every day this week (apart from Monday). I'm getting bored of my own wardrobe, which is never a good thing.

I'm rather inspired by the vintage stuff that many of you are playing around with. Think I'm going to get a bit more experiemental next week (I'm in Edinburgh over the weekend so will be away from t'internet). Wish me luck!

Hello, I love that dress - which colour did you go for?
As you've got a black shrug to go with it, why not team it with some black opaque tights as well, so that it wouldn't seem so short?? I tend to find that a good pair of tights can be teamed iwth any shortish dress and give me the confidence to wear it in the day for a more dressed-down look..

Djenks, no advice but I LOVE that dress (I wanted it but regretfully didn't buy it)

I feel festive today despite being up since 5,
still in PJS but have been baking cornish fairings so the house smells all spicy and warm :D
  • Hi gals,

I am still here honest, and will try to be a better poster!

Daisy - love that dress! What are cornish fairings?? Just discovered I can bake so I'm trying everything lol.

Djenks - if I'm worried somethings a little short and/or dressy I wear opaque tights and more casual boots. I've been wearing a short sparkly tunic dress with brown roll neck, opaques and flat brown biker boots for day.

Alex - I got married in June. When I got my dress (half price in sample sale :T) I was a 16/18, and I bought a 14 and had to have it taken in. It was a perfect fit!! Any bridal shop will be able to recommend a good dressmaker.

We have snow here - only a 2cms max and I'm sure it'll be gone soon, but I'm wrapped up for the cold!

    green long sleeved tshirt -NL
black floral short sleeve chiffon dress/tunic - Primark via my sister
    black leggings - top shop
    brown biker boots - Next
    black woolly scarf - DP's
    black bead bracelets - Primark
