Impressive organisation there, Mrs R!!:T Have a lovely weekend!0 -
I'm so impressed by the way Mrs_Ryan plans her outfits with military precision, a lesson to us all!
Hope all are well. I'm making curtains from my beautiful new Ikea fabric and planning a quiet evening in anticipation of tomorrow's big night out. My homemade dress went down a storm at the gallery opening and survived the evening intact - my tailoring skills must be improving.
Today's outfit:
Purple paisley puddycat bow dress (eBay 99p)
Kate Moss at TopShop braided silk waistcoat (eBay £2.63)
Purple Urban Outfitters tights (Car Boot) worn under black lace tights (Market)
TopShop Bardot boots, taupe with wood platform (TopShop)
Brass bangles (Boot sales)
Brass ring with purple stone (ex-Accesorize via boot sale) Brown smoked plastic (TopShop) and brass buddha set on ivory and gilt (Bay)
Aztec discs (TopShop via boot sale)
Scent: Essence of chlorine (from this morning's swim)
Happy Friday, my lovelies!!!0 -
Goan- glad the dress was a hit, it was utterly divine!
SO COLD.
Hm, I may re-think what I said about shopping with my Dad, it was good fun! We got what he wanted for Mum then he decided he wanted to get me some new boots, as my flat ankle ones are already wearing down a lot on the heels where I wear them so much;
He dragged me in to Faith and Office, but the prices  I wasn't going to let him spend that kind of money on me (wheras once I would have done!) especially as I don't *need* boots, mine are wearable. Still, he'll no doubt get his way, he is overly generous at times. I did let him buy me some gorgeous fushia spotted tights in M&S, which were an extravagance to me at £6
Dental hospital was fine too, though I'm going to have to get another brace on my top teeth in January, which I am anxious about/reluctant to get. I've had braces on and off since I was 8, and this is a last ditch attempt to get some improvement.0 -
Daisybella, cn you have your boots re heeled? Its really worth doing to keep boots/shoes going and its MUCH cheaper than wearing through boots quickly. Of course, having more than a few pairs of ''daily'' foot wear also extends the life span of each pair...but cobblers are brilliant!0
-
I do usually have boots re-heeled, but these have a really odd heel on them, hard to explain, but it's not the heel that's wearing as such, more the side of the shoe as I have rolling feet (they roll quite badly inwards) and it destroys shoes big time!0

I used to have that problem until I had my hip done. Have you considered seeing a Podiatrist? They'll analyse the way you walk and make insoles to correct your gait - keeps your shoes looking nice for ages!
(Might be a suggestion for a sensible pressie off Mum and Dad.)
I'm with LiR's suggestion of a cobbler - great money saving tip. We've got a lovely local guy (Timpsons' is far too expensive). He charges £2.95 for reheeling. One of my friends had put a lot of weight on and couldn't zip up her knee high boots she'd paid a fortune for. He added an elasticated gusset (vile word) to the side of her boots and it cost £12.0 -
I see a very nice Podiatrist
he's really wonderful. I have insoles, but they only work in some of my shoes...although I live in boots, they aren't very comfortable as I also have a very high instep. Nightmare.
We sadly don't have a cobbler in town, we used to, but he shut downhe was brilliant. So the only one I can get to involves a £7.40 bus fare  unless someone has a day to spare to take me! I think my Mum is planning a shopping trip next week, so I'll ask her to take them along and see what can be done,
Dad is still harping on about buying me a new pair regardless,
he's in one of those moods (not often he's like this lol, but I feel bad for wanting to take advantage )
Gosh, I'm very rambly and boring tonight, sorry!0 -
 No posts all weekend? Have we all been having real lives?
